For some time we were examining options to enable a dining room in our old country house on Exmoor, firstly convert the garage but that would mean a lot of work, and then we realised that the conservatory could be converted but not without some modification.
Conservatories, typically too hot in Summer and too cold in Winter,we went looking for ideas and came across Conservatoryroofprojects who take the top of the conservatory off and put in an insulated roof.
After direct consultation with Neal & Keith,we went ahead and the job was delivered in 5 days with a team of excellent committed craftsmen who worked solidly through all weathers.
The tiles are synthetic but very realistic and matched the rest of the house, the insulation is bespoke to this company and provides a great ambient temperature now all year round and they constructed an "orange box" surround with down lighters as well as LCD lights in the ceiling. They also constructed a false wall along one side of the conservatory to give more privacy as well as plastering the stippled end wall + skirting.
The end result is that we now have an all year round room with good light and pleasant temperatures so we are able to have Christmas lunch in what we call...The Garden Room...as well as Summer buffets.
Compared to the other options we considered, this was by far the best alternative and great value.
