“I used 2 other window treatment companies before I found Mann Kidwell and I will NEVER use anyone else! I even have them travel to my my Wintergreen house to do the windows. They always have creative solutions for my windows and their work always holds up!!!! Their installers & measurers are really nice as well. They have done custom plantation shutters for triangular windows, 10' high sheers trimmed in linen and made from special UV fabric. disappearing blinds, bedroom privacy curtains, and more for me. You definitely get what you pay for!”

“We saw Global Works PM at the Home Show earlier this year and had them come to our house to show us the new roller shades and the hundreds of fabric textures, designs, colors, and transparencies available for our kitchen window remodel. FredClark, came to the house with his wealth of knowledge and professional insights into the product we were interested in purchasing to give our windows a totally new, clean, classy look. When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
Any fabric can be used, but generally the most common types of fabric used are cotton, silk, linen, polyester, and combinations of these due to their lighter weight and insulating properties.
