Bow Tie Construction

Founded in 2011, Bow Tie Construction are experienced residential contractors with an emphasis on high quality finishes and low-energy construction. We have completed more Passive House projects in London and the home counties than any other builder. We have also completed a number of grade II listed refurbishments in and around London (Bloomsbury, Maida Vale, Beaconsfield) to the exacting standards of our clients and architects. Each of these has presented unique challenges including access, parking, restricted space on site, planning constraints and difficult neighbours. We address and resolve these issues in a professional manner. We are 2021 CIBSE award winners, 2 x RIBA London 2019 award winners and 2 x Construction Excellence 2019 finalists. We have been awarded a £30k grant by Interreg EU to R&D scalable deep retrofit solutions and we are currently funded by Innovate UK on the same topic. We are located in High Wycombe at the Basepoint Business Centre and serve London and the home counties. We currently have seven build crews of 6-8 team members and in-house electricians, plumbers, gas engineers and other trades who move between our sites. At any time we have up to four active sites and our capacity increases by a further 1-2 sites every year. While many main contractors sub out most of their work, we keep the majority of tasks in-house and we keep the same builders and project managers on each job from start to finish. This gives all our operatives a sense of ownership and job satisfaction. Our focus is on providing an excellent service to our client architects in the interest of building a collaborative work relationship leading to customer satisfaction and eventually repeat business. To this end we use a project management platform to communicate between stakeholders and operatives. AIs, RFIs, change orders, budgets, payments and the construction program are all integrated into this tool. We tender for projects between £600k - £4M
