They prefer to quote pessimistic estimates and come in under budget if they can, so while they seem expensive initially, you have more peace of mind. Little did we know that our house would turn out to have two significant problems - the walls weren’t built properly and nor was the roof! So, yes, our budget was blown out of the water quite early on, but this was not their fault.
