“Fabulous company to work with. Very honest, loyal, punctual and CLEAN. Helped with design ideas and provided samples of materials. Coordinated all tradespeople to do their part as needed in a timely manner. Had the same 2 workmen on site at all times. They quickly did the demolition of the ground level of my 4-level split and followed with prepping the floors and walls for rebuilding. They dry walled, painted, laid two types of flooring (vinyl and laminate) and replaced the baseboards. They were true artists and took great care and pride in their workmanship paying incredible attention to details. In the end, they completely renovated the back hall closet, the two-piece powder room, the kitchen, the dining room and the upper level family room. I would recommend HAMMERDOWN to anyone and everyone in a heartbeat!”

“We needed to increase our living space to accommodate elderly parents who were moving in with us. We chose to give them our master bedroom and ensuite on the main level and build a second floor addition over the garage. This new addition would become our oasis. It includes a spacious bedroom with an alcove office space, a walk in closet and ensuite. We also combined the two smaller bedrooms on the main floor and made a nice size private sitting room along with space for a much needed mudroom. Including the mudroom in our build allowed us to move the washer and dryer from downstairs to the main floor. We are extremely pleased with the end result. It was a pleasure working with Warren and his team as the project was completed in a timely manner and the workmanship is excellent.”

“My wife & I hired I-Can Construction & Renovation to build our new home for us. We learned about I-Can through my parents, who had hired them to finish their basement. And we chose I-Can to build our house because of the quality work that they had done for my parents and the personal service that you get when dealing with a smaller company. What we also received was a custom building experience that you don't get with many home building companies. We were able to pick all of the finishes throughout the house, from basically anything that was available on the market, as opposed to having to choose between 2 or 3 "standard" finishes. The owner of the company, Ryan, was excellent to deal with. He is friendly, knowledgable, honest and trustworthy... as were the rest of his staff. Ryan is definitely a perfectionist, he insists that everything is done properly, and his attention to detail is amazing. The entire building process went very smoothly, with only a few delays/setbacks (which should be expected with any construction project). However when issues did occur we were extremely impressed with the manner in which they were dealt with; Ryan contacted us promptly, explained the problem to us, and offered solutions. The attitude displayed was "here's the problem, here's why this is a problem, and here's the options for fixing the problem"... straight forward, to the point, and honest. My wife and I really appreciated that. We had a fantastic building experience, we have nothing but good things to say about Ryan & I-Can, and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. “Roost is the only company that I would gladly hire again to complete another renovation. Roost was highly recommended to me when I was looking for someone to completely renovate my basement. It was a big job involving new walls (studs, insulation and drywall) a suspended ceiling, new electrical panel, wiring, lighting, etc. In the past few years I have had hired numerous other so-called "professionals" to renovate various rooms in my home and have been alarmed by how most do more damage than actual improvement. Roost is a welcome exception. I met with Myron Martens, the contractor, and was impressed with his enthusiasm and knowledge. He is very pleasant and easy to talk to and his quotation was surprisingly reasonable. He took out permits for all aspects of the job, which many other contractors are reluctant to do. The work began promptly and continued at a steady pace. The workers were very experienced and really friendly. An old buddy of mine--an expert finishing carpenter--would stop by occasionally to comment on their work. He always had high praise for everything he inspected and would often point out details that he felt were truly exceptional. Myron and his crew would communicate with me at every step of the way and include me in every decision, such as the style of pot lights, ceiling tiles, light switches and so on. I always felt part the renovation. I was thrilled when Myron solved a nagging problem: I had a telepost smack in the way of my stairs. It was supporting the house and it seemed that nothing could be done. Fortunately, Myron came up with a brilliant solution and solved the problem once and for all. And what an improvement! I can honestly say that every day of the project was a pleasure. The workers really enjoyed their work and took genuine pride in it. They would consult me whenever there was an option to be considered, and at the end of each day they would explain what had been done. And they always cleaned up before leaving. Roost gave me a beautiful basement and an enjoyable experience. I am happy to write this review as both an expression of my gratitude for a job so well done, and as a sincere recommendation to any reader looking for someone to trust with their home renovation project.
