At the outset, they helped make all those tricky decisions I had no experience of, and looking back, we made all the right choices. All work was carried out within the 12 week schedule that was initially agreed and to the highest standards. As with any building work, there were small unforeseen issues that arose. But Pete Cook and his guys always had a solution ready and never tried to increase the cost because of them. The plans we had were always flexible, meaning that when our ideas evolved, they were always happy to incorporate them. They made useful suggestions on how to make improvements that we wouldn’t have thought of, such as adding soundproofing between the floors when the opportunity arose. The guys on site were all a pleasure to have around; courteous, polite and hard-working. As someone who works in the building industry, I was very impressed at every aspect of their work, and they are the top recommendation I have in my book of contacts!”

“We cannot speak highly enough of I D Smith Construction Services. We instructed them to fully refurbish our 1930s semi with the addition of a single storey extension. The project included new external render, full rewire, replumb, fresh plastering, new roof, bespoke carpentry, new gravel driveway, new kitchen and new bathrooms amongst many other items. There's not much these guys can't turn their hands to. We found Ian and his team a pleasure to deal with. They were reliable and trustworthy and most importantly delivered an excellent finish throughout. As is inevitable with major building work we did incur additional, unforeseen costs but these were reasonable and proportionate and Ian kept us informed throughout. What we loved in particular was Ian's ability to find solutions to any problems we encountered. His calmness throughout the project helped keep our stress levels down.
