Narrative Ltd

I was happy to engage Narrative Ltd as my architects but had them done a cost estimate beforehand which did not (in my view) have the quality I that can be expected given the fee for it. I cannot comment on the content of the cost estimate (I assume it's good) but the delivery was not user friendly to the point that I gave up using it. I gave them actionable feedback how to improve it, which they partly took into account, but the end result didn't have the quality I would expect for the fee and in overall seemed a bit sloppy. Those were mainly formatting issues, so should probably be able to be fixed for future clients.

I employed Narrative, To renovate and update a house I have been renting out for the past five years Whilst in fairly good condition it was very dated and in need of some love. I had two completely new bathrooms, including an en suite toilet off a bedroom on the top floor replaced and upgraded . A new kitchen including knocking down an interior wall to make an open plan kitchen diner with new wooden floor. Completely redecorated throughout removing the 70’s fitted wardrobes and providing a professional vastly improved finish. Throughout the project they were very helpful, working within my budget and tailoring it to maximise the look with what I could afford. Making creative suggestions to keep within budget and being honest about what would cost a bit more and keeping me well informed so I could decide where I wanted to increase my budget a little bit to get the best result. Damian was a great project manager keeping me informed about the progress of the build and always answering questions speedily. He also took my prospective tenant around the house whilst it was still a building sight and briefed her on how it would look. He was also fabulous in the last couple of weeks and after the tenant had moved in with last minute snag list to make the finish perfect. All in all I’m very happy with the finished job, love the design which was all done to Greg’s suggestions and excellent finish throughout. They achieved exactly what I wanted in upgrading the house and improving the look I would recommend them to anyone and fully intend them to hire them next year to do some upgrades on my own house.

I used Narrative for my refurbishment last year, as recommended by my architect, given my desire for a high end finish. This company definitely delivered. The work included a complete reconfiguration of my kitchen/dining room to open plan - moving services, removal of load bearing wall, etc. , installation of new ground floor WC and utility room and full refurb of the first floor bathroom. At the onset, the company provided a very detailed professional quote covering every aspect of the bulid, much more detailed and easy to review than the four other companies I had quote. Whilst not the cheapest, which is not always the best bet anyway for a build, it was also not the most expensive and it more than paid for itself in the professionalism, communication and quality of finish -- culminating in the high end designer look and feel that I was after. The team were all great, hard working, and responsive throughout the process. Where there were hiccups - which is inevitable with a bulid of this magnitude-- these were dealt with efficiently and all issues were discussed and agreed in a timely manner. I was quite nervous at the beginning of this project, given I had never undertaken a major renovation project before and had heard many horror stories about builds that had gone wrong. I am pleased to say all the way through to the end I felt like it was a very positive and collaborative experience with Narrative and the quality of finish was outstanding. I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again for future projects. In addtion, one year on, there have been no issues or surprises and the place still looks like the work was finalized yesterday.
