We are Calidwell Homes, a modern construction company that specialises in the domestic sector. We offer a range of services to homeowners who want to build, extend, or improve their homes. Our story began over 30 years ago, when our managing director Steve left school and followed his father Brian’s footsteps into the world of carpentry. Together, they worked in all sectors of the construction industry, both commercial and domestic, on both sides of production and management. They learned the skills and values that make us who we are today: professionalism, craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction. Sadly, Brian passed away as a result of Covid in 2021, which inspired Steve and his family to start Calidwell Homes in his memory. We are proud to carry on his legacy and passion for building beautiful homes that make people happy. We are a family-run business that treats every project as if it were our own home. We work with trusted partners and suppliers to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. We also use eco-friendly materials and practices to minimize our environmental impact. We have completed numerous projects in the Hertfordshire area, from small extensions to large high end renovations. This was our first building project and it was a big build!. From start to finish Steve and his fantastic team made the whole process as easy and stress free as possible. They were flexible when changes needed to be made they were always on hand to offer advice and help us with decisions and their work is absolutely outstanding. They were more than accommodating to the outside kitchen company and tech people that came in during the build. The whole team were super friendly, polite and respectful and a joy to work with. Highly recommend them, we couldn’t be happier with the work they have done.

We hired Ross Taylor Homes for our two-bed loft conversion and it couldn’t have been better. They are reliable, approachable, professional, great fun and superb quality. Can’t thank them enough. The one thing I got wrong was that, as a developer myself, I wanted to do the finishing works myself after RTH had done all the main structural work. This was a mistake. Whilst I finished a great space to a very high standard, the time it took me meant I didn’t end up with much in the way of the cost savings I’d planned. With hindsight, I should have had RTH undertake the entire project and manage it throughout. Will definitely use them on build projects again. Book them with confidence.

Beautifully fitted kitchen supplied by Howdens. Top craftsmanship which is highly recommend. I'm a bit OCD and the team had no problem moving some of the kitchen units around without hesitation. Beautiful result and very happy with the outcome. Thank you Ross Taylor Homes.

I was recommended Ross Taylor Homes for a small kitchen install job. They fitted me in quickly, were very efficient- the team sent to me were experts in this type of install and I found them reasonably priced. Over all I would use them again and am happy to recommend.

This is the first time that I have used this company, but would recommend them without hesitation. I had my kitchen replaced and living In a first floor apartment brought a number of logistical challenges. But I have to say that the workmanship was outstanding and the disruption of removing the old kitchen and taking deleivery of the new kitchen was kept to a minimum. All the people that worked on this project ensured that our home and all landings and stairwells where clean at the end of each day, the service level was excellent. Extremely happy with our new kitchen

RTH built our home! Complete renovation + loft conversion + rear extension. Good craftsmanship and a great team! They listen but also have brilliant ideas when needed. Everything was in line with budget and when the project was completed they remained engaged when needed.

Ross Taylor Home’s have renovated our whole house and built a two story extension in a matter of months, from the planning to the finish they have done and amazing job. Steve has been great at project managing the whole thing right from planning with the engineer to making sure the work and finish has been top notch, he has a very good eye for design and has made the house look perfect. I couldn’t be happier with the service they have provided and our house looks amazing. Scott and the boys have done a brilliant job, they have all been polite and professional and very speedy, they have all worked so hard to get our house done for us, we are very happy and thankful to them. We would throughly recommend then to anyone.
