After having had a rather stressful experience with a previous builder some years back, I was naturally hesitant to take on a big project like a double extension to my home. But from the very first consultation with the ShapeHouse team, those concerns were quickly put to rest. They guided me through every step, survey, design, planning, and all the way through to the actual build, with clarity and professionalism. Communication was excellent throughout the process, which made things far easier than I expected. Now, I have a wonderful new kitchen diner and a spacious master bedroom with an en-suite. I couldn’t be happier with the results and would highly recommend ShapeHouse to anyone considering renovations.

We brought our house at the end of last year and always knew we wanted a loft conversion. We started speaking to ShapeHouse once we knew our sale was good to go. They helped from the beginning with our planning through to the build. The site team were great and left our home tidy every day as well as talking to us about how things were going regularly. We had small issues with our party wall but ShapeHouse were quick to sort on our behalf. We will be a returning client if we ever have further works done.

Started the design process with Shape House in November of 2023, got planning permission at the first attempt in January 2024. The project started at the end of January and completed the first week in June of 2024. The work to our home consisted of a large wrap around extension which included a knock through from the original house at the rear and side to create an open plan space which features a large kitchen/diner. games room, study, utility and small storage at the front with garage doors. Having worked with builders in the past I was very pleased with the workers and management team which was overseen by Zak. The quality of the work is exceptional but what pleased me the most was the consistency of the communication and how every week I was updated with progress and financial information. Shape House is a company that cares about their clients and the projects, this comes through with their passion for excellence. When I first contacted Shape House it was from a referral from my neighbour who had an excellent experience with them. I am happy to talk with any prospective client and give my feedback. We used ShapeHouse to renovate our loft and convert it into a bedroom. Excellent service from day one to completion, the team is very professional and made the whole process so easy and stress free. The Scope of work included extensive renovations, the construction of new facilities and several smaller maintenance tasks. The projects were not only finished on time but also within budget, forming an excellent relationship with their project manager who was great at finding solutions when needed. We had our own what’s app group which kept me and my partner in the loop which was helpful as we both work full time. Extension We are in the final stages of our extension Our site team has been great, helpful and tidy. We were concerned as we had a holiday in the middle of the build but the site team kept a daily blog of what happened with photos. Never easy doing any sort of home project but we can safely say, ShapeHouse has made it as smooth as possible.

Best avoided. Shapehouse quoted for a simple garage extension, at a similar price to two other quotes. I went with Shapehouse as their project manager (name redacted) proposed to get the job done using their own tradespeople within a few weeks. After paying a deposit and some advances on work about to be carried out, no-one arrived to start work for several weeks, although they always promised it would be soon. They then requested more money for advances to an oak frame supplier, which they also then claimed was the cause of the delays. 10 weeks after the work was first supposed to commence, with still no start on site, they told me they wouldn't be able to do it at the original price and that they needed an additional £3000 immediately for the job to be done. They already had £10500 from me. I said that I wanted the original contract honoured at the price we had agreed. They said no, quoted some clauses in the contract claiming they allowed them to keep my money as I had cancelled the contract and then went silent. When I tried to contact the general manager (name redacted) or the director(name redacted), both refused to take a call or to call me back. The only contact was from a new junior member of staff, always promising to get back to me but never communicating anything of substance and refusing to refund my money. I managed to make an agreement with the oak frame supplier concerning they funds paid to him and after I started to court claim against Shapehouse, they immediately agreed to pay me my money back. But even then there was no end of foot dragging. Today they finally paid me, I think about 6 weeks after a junior member of staff first said they would pay me back the next day. Inept project management and corrupt company management.

Working with ShapeHouse has been a positive experience. The team that were involved with our project were fantastic. A few delays here and there but that is expected on such a large project . Would highly recommend them for any building works. Rgds Kiran

We contracted with Shapehouse for the renovation of our newly bought house and the construction of a kitchen extension, and we are extremely pleased with the process and result. The overall process was very well-structured and efficient. There were regular meetings where we were informed about the progress and the weekly work schedule. Conor, our project manager, was very knowledgable and helpful throughout the project. He facilitated communication between us and the builders, and helped solve a lot of problems as quickly as possible, whenever they came up. Although we added some more tasks (e.g. replacing water pipes) as the project went on, the team adjusted the work schedule in an organised manner. The project was completed on time, and the house, especially the kitchen extension, looks amazing, exactly how we envisioned it to be. We are very pleased with the result and would recommend Shapehouse for house renovation and extension construction.

We are very pleased to share our experience of working with ShapeHouse over 2022-23. After a meticulous design process, we wanted to work with a firm that could successfully execute the complex remodel, extension and refurbishment of our 1930s detached house. We appointed ShapeHouse following a competitive process and from a select number of builders. We were very pleased with the workmanship of the various teams that worked on our site. The teams were considerate, respectful and looked out for our family especially during periods when they worked around us. In summary, we wanted to thank the ShapeHouse team for helping us build our dream home. We look forward to enjoying it for years to come.

As a quite substantial build we were naturally concerned that a) we were doing the right thing, and b) that we would achieve the objectives of the build. ShapeHouse have been very helpful and patient over the long planning phase getting us to the final decision to proceed. They have been very helpful, also flexible in allowing us to take certain final decisions as the build has been taking shape, as it was hard to decide these things until we could see physically which option would be best. From our perspective as amateurs, the quality of their workmanship looks excellent. We can certainly recommend ShapeHouse to anyone looking to do the sort of build we are doing.

Working with the ShapeHouse team has been a real joy! I have moved several times over the years and have undergone lots of home improvements, extensions and refurbishments and everyone of them have been challenging to say the least. It came as a nice surprise that ShapeHouse are a genuine one stop shop which made the whole process very organised and simple. I have a Project Guide called Chantelle, a Contracts Manager called Zak along with an Interior Designer called Polly. The entire team communicate with each other and I was always kept informed of what was going on at any time. The weekly payments meant that I never had to pay large amounts of money up front which gave me peace of mind. I changed my mind a few times which is normal but when I did it was never greeted with any problems and always discussed so i knew exactly what I wanted. The Site Foreman Tony was really helpful and always took his time to explain what was happening during the week. All decisions that I needed to make with some of the finishing items such as tiles and flooring took some time as I can be indecisive, but I never felt rushed which was a welcome relief from my previous experiences. Now that the project is finished I can honestly say I am thrilled. The quality is excellent and although there were a couple of minor issues such as a light switch not working and the bi folding doors needing adjusting, these were resolved quickly. I would recommend ShapeHouse to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced, hard working and quality company to undertake a home renovation. Thanks Kerry

Super from start to finish. Knowledgeable office staff who are very helpful daily and a great site team who kept me informed throughout and put my mind at ease! Always daunting having building work done however couldn’t fault ShapeHouse and would recommend to anyone looking to have works completed.
