“We instructed Woodford Architecture to assist us in prolonged negotiations with a local developer who had obtained detailed planning consent to convert an office building in the historic centre of Exeter into three floors of appartments with two added penthouses on a new contemporary steel and glass fourth floor. After weeks of discussion we managed to convince the developer to sell us the entire new floor as one large new appartment fitted out entirely to our specification. This entailed some re design of the new structure on a project which was about to start The deal was entirely dependant on Woodford Architecture producing detailed design plans and specifications to very tight deadlines indeed, in the face of a somewhat sceptical contractor. There is no doubt whatsoever that had not Gavin Woodford and his staff worked seven days a week for several weeks we would not have been able to meet our contractual commitments. They are to be congratulated on a remarkable job well done.”

“Roger’s design has been a success. He carefully listened to my requirements and ideas and came up with an innovative design. His brief was to redesign the whole garden front and back which is tricky sloping site. Over the next months he was on hand to organise a survey, quotations for the work and comment on the hardscaping and planting. He produced a detailed planting plan including some unusual plants, which have worked really well in the garden. His design transformed the outdoor areas around the house and has allowed us to fully utilize the garden at all times of the day taking into account the shade and sun. He produced a design that was innovative and specific to client requirements. Whilst providing the brief for eleven apartments, the completed building very cleverly seems to resemble the original large Edwardian building that was replaced so as to blend with the area and not to give the appearance of an overpowering block of flats.
