Atelier Janaye

Bee worked with us for over a year on a full house back to brick renovation of an early Victorian townhouse. Our home is so beautiful, she really elevated our ideas but kept it true to who we are. She worked alongside me (and my tile obsession) – all of our various trades and garden designer. We have functional spaces – with storage – that accommodate a slightly leaky, elderly cat, far too many books and large art pieces. Bee was regularly on site (Saturdays too) as well as constantly available on whatsapp, bringing samples, catching up with the builders and making sure the tiling was according to plan. She was organised, professional and communicated well and due to project partnership we could leverage extra support for the difficult / more technical elements of the project as we needed Bee prepared multiple mood board drafts after in depth conversations with us, sourced furniture (including a superlative fireplace mantel), designed bespoke joinery and bespoke encaustic tiles. She also pushed me out of my comfort zone and added details that we love but would never have thought to include. Each room / floor is different but cohesive across the whole house. The finishes and design elements reflected us rather than Pinterest / Instagram. We had existing furniture that needed to be incorporated plus other new items I knew I wanted to have and Bee folded everything together to create something unique. The designs were adapted at short notice to accommodate immovable quirks of the house. She also sourced a last minute kitchen in a bespoke colour that was delivered within 4 weeks to solve for a crisis – which is technically impossible! If we ever do this again (we are never moving, this house is forever), we would love to work with Bee and team again. Our expectations were exceeded; this was a 5 star experience and Bee is working on a project for our friends.
