“We asked Rumi to design and project manage an extension and kitchen refit. She was extremely helpful and we absolutely love our new space. The best things about Rumi's work were her patience, calm approach and her contacts of excellents tradespeople whose work was of great quality and who worked really well as a team. Having a project manager was very reassuring and her experience of what is 'normal' in such projects made everything seem more manageable (e.g. buildings regulations, sourcing suppliers, understanding timescales). In design terms, she does a great job of listening to your own tastes and also making her own suggestions, and she has particular flair for lighting design which we wouldn't have thought of but makes a huge difference. We worried that our budget wasn't big enough to hire an interior designer, but she worked within our contraints and her input was definitely worth it. I thoroughly recommend her.”

“What problem did Aben solve? Respect Developments Ltd launched a fully refurbished and extended 1930’s bungalow with modern open plan living on to the market during the last week of October in 2024. However, there were two main issues… Issue No.1: The property market begins to slow during November, December and January due to Christmas. This created a psychological effect that the property had been on the market for over 3 months and not sold conversely, it was because there was no real focus on it due to the festive period. Albeit the property did receive a small number of viewings but with offers falling short of the desired asking price. There was only one real option to pursue, a new marketing strategy, to stage the property and deliver a tangible visual of an abode that truly provides a quality of life, a purpose, a place to recline in comfort and call home. Issue No.2: The Kitchen, Dining and Living spaces are all in one large open plan area therefore, it was important to show potential buyers which rooms were designated as bedrooms. So should they decided to repurpose any of the bedrooms, it would be their choice and not a limitation of the property. How did Aben help? With warm and modern furnishings, fittings and soft touches Aben transcended the property and gave it life, a home to be desired. This increased the number of viewings, and we received offers in close proximity to the asking price as a result. The staging also provided a clear vision of how the open plan Kitchen, Dining and Living space was to be zoned to provide both social and intimate congregation. The bedrooms were all staged to show they are in fact spacious enough for double beds and plenty of furniture removing any doubt otherwise. Why did you use Aben services? A complete catalogue of photographs of both inside and outside the property. 6 weeks initial hire of all furnishings, fittings and soft touches with the option to continue afterwards on a weekly basis. Removal of all furnishings, fittings and soft touches within the property and a light clean to maintain a level of presentation. Would you recommend Aben services and why? “It was such a pleasure to work with Novo Design. I contacted Abbie as we were finalising our plans for a complete renovation of a large, old property in Derbyshire - to modernise, but retain character, and turn it into our 'forever home'. I had so many ideas - my Pinterest was out of control and I was overwhelmed with how to renovate and style the entire house, whilst ensuring that the spaces flowed well into each other. I desperately wanted to keep the character, whilst putting our own stamp on it, and I have a slight obsession with the Art Deco era. Enter Abbie and Reece... We started with chats and coffee, and immediately I loved the quiet leadership showed in both listening to my thoughts, eyeing up the house and its potential, and combining this with encouragement, ideas, alternatives and support. The professionalism, quality of content (scale drawings, room mock ups, mood boards/ samples etc) was incredible - yet all delivered with the ease and candour similar to that of an old friend. Their suppliers for things like curtains, cabinetry, artwork and furnishings were again professional and likeable, and such high quality. They also, critically, respected our budget throughout. The project was not without its challenges, spiralling supply costs in a post pandemic/ war-torn world and various delays and setbacks (nothing new there for a rebuild). More than anything I valued Abbie and Reece's support through this... flexibility with shifting dates, an ear when I needed to vent, and ideas when I was lost. Their input and support is what kept me positive through the most challenging parts of the build and, importantly, still enamoured with the plan. I am so proud of our home. It is unequivocally 'us', fitting our family's way of living like a glove. I continue to smile daily when I catch little details of greatness in the small things and will be forever grateful for Novo's help with it.”
