Born Designers is a Brighton based Interior Architecture and Design company specialising in both residential and commercial interiors throughout the UK. We are a small studio with a highly skilled, professional and friendly team. Our studio prides itself on its creative, hands-on approach and over 20 years industry experience. Every project is different and we offer a wide range of services from early concept work, architectural reconfiguration and space planning through to bespoke design elements, product sourcing, soft furnishings and styling. Each project is individually tailored to your needs. We work closely with a network of trusted construction professionals and on interior projects of various scales. Together with our sister company, Born Makers we have the ability to produce bespoke timber joinery and one-off furniture pieces for our projects in-house. We love what we do and we place high value on a rigorous design process, close client relationships and good communication. Our aim for each project is that the process should be enjoyable and the finished result should be beautiful and exceed expectations. Founders Laura and Philip Stewart are highly qualified with BA(hons) Interior Architecture and Design and BA (hons) Furniture Design degree level certificates respectively. Laura is a British Institute of Interior Design Registered Interior Designer® and has held teaching posts at Kingston and Middlesex Universities and the Royal College of Art on the Interior Design BA and MA courses.

The Born Designers team were incredible to work with from start to finish. We knew the kind of space we wanted to live in but couldn’t make it a reality ourselves. We’d always been the kind of people who would buy individual pieces of furniture without considering how they worked within a room or how the flow of the entire house came together. Born Designers helped us transform our ideas into a cohesive, beautifully designed home. We needed to reconfigure the upstairs of our house and improve our hallway and staircase appearance. Born Designers met with us early on in the process to better understand our needs and the space we wanted transformed. The team then turned our ideas into floorplans, moodboards and furniture ideas, they even shared these brilliant sketches of each room so that we could get a real feel for what each space would become. What we now have is a living space that really reflects how we want to live. It brings together modern and mid-century styles, with paint colours that add a real sense of warmth to our home. They also took us out of our comfort zones and introduced wallpaper and furniture choices we’d never have had the confidence to pick ourselves and they fit perfectly. What I continue to love about their design work, now that the work is finished and we’re enjoying our home, is how the approach to each room feels like a beautifully framed picture, cleverly composed and curated. We can’t recommend them enough. Thanks Born Designers - we now love our home.
