“My husband and I recently moved back to Wichita to retire and wanted this new home to be just like we wanted. I had worked with Designers in the past and found them to be invaluable in creating just the right touch for a space. Vicki Flores certainly upheld that expectation and my husband and I simply adore our house and how it looks. Vicki helped us with almost every room in our home and I loved everything that she suggested and found for us. Vicki found us beautiful area rugs for our living, dining and foyer, each unique but ties beautifully together in our open concept living space. She also found us these fabulous honeycomb shades for all our windows that can adjust to any height and are weather resistant (keeps the warmth in winter and cold in summer). I love color and Vicki found us these gorgeous chairs (one in a deep blue plush and another sort of a rust color to compliment our patterned couch. They were just the right size shape and color to make the room click. Then of course, Vicki worked with me in creating a glam guest bathroom. The beveled mirror is to die for – fabulous! And again the right size for the wall and room; we put fun chandelier like lights over the mirror to add sparkle along with other accessories that glimmer – I just love it! Vicki helped us place pictures on our walls that help to section the room – who knew? In our bedroom especially, we used a series of lithographs to frame the bed that highlight that area. And we used a group of pictures to delineate the Kitchen counter area from the dining area – it works! And the high swivel chairs Vicki found for the counter are just perfect for the space and very comfortable. Not only is Vicki a superb designer (knowing what the client likes), she is a dream to work with. Vicki has a bubbly personality and comes prepared with wonderful ideas to discuss. She works with your budget and has no hesitation to fix anything that isn’t working. For instance, we did have a performance issue with one of the blinds and she had is addressed right away – successfully. Another time, she had some pillows made that the material turned out not to be suitable and there were no if’s and’s or but’s, she agreed and took them back. I would recommend Vicki without hesitation and would love to work with her again.”

“Megan did a wonderful job with the renovation of our kitchen. She is knowledgeable, intelligent, creative, honest, organized and punctual. (I am not kidding!) She listened to my "wish list" and cost limitations then searched for materials based on those discussions. She provided options for me from which I was able to make final choices. This helped me to not become overwhelmed by all the decisions involved in this type of renovation. Another area she was very helpful with was in the communications with the contractor, lead carpenter and all the subs and suppliers. She answered many questions about details that I had no clue about. Megan was a delight to work with and I would not hesitate to recommend her to others. I will continue to use her on our home redo.”

“This was the first time I used a professional to help decorate the main living areas of my home. Wanting to have my new house feel more like a home I decided to use a decorator. The experience was awesome. Their suggestions very much represented the essence of who I am. I was able to incorporate some existing items with new ones. My place feels pulled together but not over decorated. Nelson Designs was very easy to work with and very respectful of my time and my budget. This is definitely the way to go when you don't have the eye for interior decorating or the access to the many vendors at their disposal. It really makes a difference when an experience professional has the time and resources to do research to find items that are a perfect fit for your home.”

“Mary and her fantastic team have now done 5 properties for me, two new york apartments and three Connecticut country houses. Their work and their demeanor are the most wonderful combination of creativity, fun, practicality and function. Not only have the homes always turned out beautifully, every project has been a fun creative process. Mary is particularly skilled at taking the ideas and enthusiasms of an amateur (myself) and implementing them in ways that are practical for use and wonderfully elegant. “Barbara had drapes made for 3 different rooms in our main house. The fabrics were all rich and complemented my rooms. The craftmanship on the drapes, lining and trim is excellent and she also did a great job picking out appropriate but fun rods and finials. Barbara is very conscientious about the actual hanging of the drapes which made my rooms looked polished yet comfortable.”
