Jan has restored three bedrooms and a sitting room in our Edwardian house. Her work is of a very high standard and her attention to detail and finish is excellent. She has a very good eye for colour and design. Along with her her husband John no other professionals were needed to complete the restoration work, which was carried out speedily and within budget. We will be using Jan again this year and can highly recommend her work.

I have known Lana for some time and have seen many examples of the magic she has worked for other clients. A couple of years ago I bought a large, Victorian house which had many original features intact, but was in need of a complete makeover from top to bottom. Other than wanting to keep the original fireplaces, deep skirting boards, lincrusta wallcovering and decorative covings, I didn't really have a particular 'look' in mind. Lana explained that the refurbishment would have to be completed in phases, with the first stage focusing on building work. The combination of her meticulous planning and extensive network of contacts meant that the replumbing, rewiring, complete window replacement and building of a new staircase were all completed on time, to budget and with the minimum of fuss. There was, of course, a lot of disruption during this part of the process but the end results were worth it. Lana's input into the design of the new, large double glazed sash windows has turned them into beautiful features, rather than functional objects. Her design of the new staircase to fit into a tight space demonstrates her technical expertise aswell as creativity. Phase 2 of the project involved the replacement of bathrooms and the kitchen. Lana designed the layouts for each, starting with a blank piece of paper. A number of options were explained to me, from the fairly straightforward replacement like-for-like of fittings, through to the complete rebuild including removal of walls. Having selected the preferred layout (I went for the complete rebuild), Lana then set to work sourcing unusual and stunning tiles, worktops, fittings and lighting. The results are amazing - totally functional rooms but beautiful at the same time. The final phase (for now, at least) of the transformation was the one which people normally associate with interior designers - furniture, fabrics, floor coverings, lighting and accessories. I confess to being hopeless at putting together combinations of colours, designs and textures but Lana is an absolute star. The array of products she is able to source from around the world is incredible and for each room I was presented with alternative schemes. I have contemporary furniture from Italy covered in fabric from France, sliding panels created from Japanese silk, light fittings from Portugal and bespoke furniture, hand crafted locally to Lana's original design. The overall look of the house is phenomenal. The original Victorian features have been brought back to life by careful choices of colour and are complemented throughout by the careful choice of modern materials. As if this isn't enough, Lana produces fabulous original artwork on canvas, glass, metal and wood. The perfect finishing touch to any room.

We have used Fiona Watkins on a number of our projects, but our development of 'Larchwood', as a new build contemporary home, was the largest of these assignments. Fiona delivered a full service interior design, including but limited to: decor, finishings, kitchen, bathrooms, lighting and furniture. We truly believe that this fabulous, high value home would not have turned out as well as it did, without Fiona's design management. Fiona is not only an exceptional interior designer but her personable approach both with us and the contractor's on site made it so much more an enjoyable experience. Her services were also extended to the procurement of a variety of fixtures and finishings, including the kitchen and bathroom. She was able to negotiate some terrific deals and made considerable cost savings to the project. We would highly recommend Fiona to anyone wishing to appoint a talented Interior Designer. My old bathroom was very dated and dark. I knew I wanted to remove the bath and replace it with a large walk in shower but couldn’t figure out how the space would work. Pete used the 3D room design to show me how the reimagined space would work and how the colour scheme would look. I wasn’t sure about how the mirror would look in next to the window but Pete encouraged me to try this innovative method and explained why it would work. It completely made the bathroom and creates lots of light. I’m so pleased with how the bathroom has looked. Thank You so much!

We came across Sandra by accident through her website & from the very first contact by phone we knew we had made the right decision. We travelled to Stafford (from Oxford) to talk through ideas & to get advice - we were amazed by the depth of knowledge & the care Sandra takes in ensuring we got what we wanted, how we wanted it & at a great price. We would recommend Funky Wunky Doodahs to all - Sandra is a joy to deal with.

We live in an up and coming area of Manchester and made the decision that we would rather max out the use of the space of our well proportioned mid-terrace property, than the cost of upsizing in the area we would want to live in. So we employed Bespoke living to help realise the potential of our house something that we have no regrets in doing! For Dave came out and gave us some really progressive and imaginative layouts for the whole property. Not just offering one option but a variety dependent upon budget/planning etc. This was great for us to become more decisive on what we actually wanted and our now progressing with a loft conversion accommodating a guest bedroom with ensuite and a redistribution of the ground floor that creates a more flowing open plan feel whilst bringing a bigger kitchen with dinning island to the centre of the house. We would highly recommend Dave as his knowledge, enthusiasm and vision helped us realise what we actually needed.

Luana assisted us with a total revamp of our living area and hallway in preparation for the house being put up for sale. Without doubt her eye for detail and fabulous ideas significantly enhanced the appeal of our house to potential buyers. Luana advised us on paint colour, floorboards, furniture lay out and designed a large shelving / media unit that became the main feature/ focal point of the room. She also assisted with the important finishing touches such as cushions, mirrors and created a fabulous picture gallery wall. A dated and drab room became a wow room within a few short weeks. Luana was able to quickly identify small but significant changes we could make such as repositioning a door way and changing the lighting. Using her services was a fantastic investment and I would highly recommend her to anyone planning an interior design project big or small.

It was a few years ago when he did this work for us but overall it was good work and I would recommend him to others. I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted or even if it was a good idea but he was able to show me it could be done and would work well, so we went ahead with the conversion of the cellar. There were a few changes that had to made as it was going along (some of them us changing our minds and some the designs needing tweaking, but as I said it was some years ago and he was a bit new to this) but he was very practical and inventive about it and it all got completed within the budget, which he had warned us would be a bit narrow, but as we were doing a lot of the work ourselves that helped. He was able to source us some lovely coving from Germany and found us some matching brass wall sconces so it all worked well together and is still one of our favorite rooms.

My husband and I first contacted Chris six years ago when we were in the process of amalgamating two homes into one. We had married earlier that year after our families had grown up and both had different tastes and ideas on what we wanted. We were finding it difficult to find a style of decor that would both could agree on and live with. Chris came along and met us in our home and in a short time learned enough about us to work out how different we were from each other and how far we were each prepared to be gently pushed out of our comfort zone! Chris getting to know us and working with our different tastes and personalities was what made the final result so successful. We originally engaged Chris to advise us on 2 rooms but we were so impressed with her work that in the end she advised us on more. She was able to work within a given budget and helped us to decide what was worth spending a little more on and where we could make savings. She was able to source all materials and advise us on fabrics that would work to enhance the furniture we were keeping. Six years on and we have decided to move to a bigger house and have had no hesitation in engaging Chris again. This time Chris has been able to advise on the whole of the house from carpets to curtains and furniture and lighting. We are delighted with all the advise that we have received and look forward to living in our beautiful new Chris Read designed home! We would have no hesitation in recommending Chris and her amazing design service. Pam and Richard Hewitson Sent from my iPad
