“We recently hired Nici to transform an empty room into a library. We wanted to be as hands-off as possible, so she not only designed the room but also coordinated all the local contractors and timelines for us. The pictures speak for themselves; she made something magical and unique for us, with each part of the room thoughtfully considered. We had an initial consultation with Nici where we had examples of parts of rooms we did like, examples of what we didn't like, but no clear picture of what we wanted. She decoded these ideas into beautiful, considerate designs, and we met again to talk through these and talk about potential fabric choices. She was sensitive in her choices about everything, from my tactile sensory processing issues, to patterns that just didn't work for us. Nici's attention to detail reassured us that the design would be realised with us in mind. When it came to having the concept brought to life, Nici sourced all the contractors, reviewed and adjusted the carpentry designs to align with the concepts, and managed the timelines. When contractors were visiting, Nici had briefed them on what was expected, and she handled any on-the-job hiccups that arose. She was hands-on every step of the way, making sure things were progressing correctly. When all the work had been completed, she took time to reconsider the space and what final touches were needed to complete it, even taking into account how our dog could be part of the space with us. We are beyond happy with the results. Each part of the room feels specially curated for us: from the reading lamp; to the beautiful window tiles; to the thoughtfully placed sockets. We truly feel like Nici has tailored this space for us, considering not only the aesthetics, but also the comfort and practicality.”

“We asked Rumi to design and project manage an extension and kitchen refit. She was extremely helpful and we absolutely love our new space. The best things about Rumi's work were her patience, calm approach and her contacts of excellents tradespeople whose work was of great quality and who worked really well as a team. Having a project manager was very reassuring and her experience of what is 'normal' in such projects made everything seem more manageable (e.g. buildings regulations, sourcing suppliers, understanding timescales). In design terms, she does a great job of listening to your own tastes and also making her own suggestions, and she has particular flair for lighting design which we wouldn't have thought of but makes a huge difference. We worried that our budget wasn't big enough to hire an interior designer, but she worked within our contraints and her input was definitely worth it. I thoroughly recommend her.”

“It was such a pleasure to work with Novo Design. I contacted Abbie as we were finalising our plans for a complete renovation of a large, old property in Derbyshire - to modernise, but retain character, and turn it into our 'forever home'. I had so many ideas - my Pinterest was out of control and I was overwhelmed with how to renovate and style the entire house, whilst ensuring that the spaces flowed well into each other. I desperately wanted to keep the character, whilst putting our own stamp on it, and I have a slight obsession with the Art Deco era. Enter Abbie and Reece... We started with chats and coffee, and immediately I loved the quiet leadership showed in both listening to my thoughts, eyeing up the house and its potential, and combining this with encouragement, ideas, alternatives and support. The professionalism, quality of content (scale drawings, room mock ups, mood boards/ samples etc) was incredible - yet all delivered with the ease and candour similar to that of an old friend. Their suppliers for things like curtains, cabinetry, artwork and furnishings were again professional and likeable, and such high quality. They also, critically, respected our budget throughout. The project was not without its challenges, spiralling supply costs in a post pandemic/ war-torn world and various delays and setbacks (nothing new there for a rebuild). More than anything I valued Abbie and Reece's support through this... flexibility with shifting dates, an ear when I needed to vent, and ideas when I was lost. Their input and support is what kept me positive through the most challenging parts of the build and, importantly, still enamoured with the plan. I am so proud of our home. It is unequivocally 'us', fitting our family's way of living like a glove. I continue to smile daily when I catch little details of greatness in the small things and will be forever grateful for Novo's help with it.”
