I needed help with decorating and planning an update on a kitchen, hall and landing, dining room, music room and living room, to include decoration, new furniture and re-purposing my children's playroom. Josephine was so, so good. Her schemes worked so well in our house. She stretched my conservative tastes and gave me lots of options and styles to think about. Josephine is really creative, and has a vast knowledge of where to buy all things house. She was available when I needed her and provided reassurance too, when I was wobbling with my decisions. We renovated a totally derelict large Victorian house over 3 years (2020 - 2022). The number of design decisions became overwhelming and our interiors architect connected us to Josephine. She provided expert support delivered in a very personable and professional way and with minimal delays. She respected our choices but was able to open our horizons to include aspects of design we had not considered e.g. wallpaper in several rooms. Her mood boards were meticulous and helped us shape our opinions on what would look best in our new house. She was very responsive by email and text and we appreciated her accessibility whilst trying not to overburden her. We are thrilled with the final results and we are enjoying our new home. We knew what was wrong and and unattractive with our 2nd bedroom and the adjacent walk-in storage space, but we had no idea as to how we could transform them into a welcoming guest room plus functional storage space. Enter Josephine, whose details we spotted on houzz. Josephine took our general brief and budget, and based upon the general style of the house, quickly presented 3 possible design solutions, complete with suggested colours, fabrics, lighting, furnishing and fixtures. Having made our selection we were able to leave everything to Josephine, who appointed a multitask builder for construction, electrical work and painting and decorating, and then either sourced or suggested ideas for carpet, lights and furnishings. Josephine is extremely accommodating and is delightful to work with. We are so pleased with the outcome. Entering the room gives a feeling of joy. Josephine made it happen.

She created progressive, imaginative and stylish designs for 2 bathrooms and a loft room, and sourced all the fixtures and fittings for 1 bathroom while we were away for a month. We were inspired to get in touch with Josephine after scrolling through her insta feed, inspired in particular by beautiful kitchen cabinets and great paint choices. Fast forward two years and everyone who comes to our home compliments us on our beautiful kitchen and asks us what colour the walls are ( paint and paper plaster 2 if you’re interested) but she did way more than that, crucially helping us design the layout for our extension and was much more helpful than our architect in helping us visualise and make decisions. She’s bold but collaborative. Her classic French taste with a distinctive twist means that you won’t end up with an interior just like everyone else’s; plus she’s a pleasure to work with. I'm really glad we came to Josephine via Houzz if not we'd still be living in an undecorated and unfurnished house. We had a big task on our hands in turning a sterile 4 bed house with some previous problematic design with odd choices and use of space. Josephine was able to help us address all the properties particular issues. Our house renovation was a traumatic, painful experience, and took a year to complete (pandemic, lack of materials, lack of workpeople, ridiculous overspread builders etc). Despite the overall experience being horrible, working with Josephine was great. First and foremost, she is incredibly responsive, which I value very highly and made me feel heard as a customer. Josephine designed and styled our new home and did an outstanding job from start to finish. We had a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom project and she was so amazing to work with across our entire project. She was a pleasure to work with - listened to and considered all of our opinions, thoughts, and needs and worked really well to accommodate these with her professional design experience and knowledge. She had great insight into brands, and design elements from textiles to colours and beyond. We had so many questions during this process and she was so happy to help and provided really useful information. Josephine has made me fall in love again with my home of 20 years by showing me what it could really look like. She transformed my living room into a space that I love and everything it deserved to be. Her initial designs were so detailed that I could really feel what the room might look like and it was clear that she had heard everything that I had said. Her eye for detail is phenomenal. She incorporated my old side tables, that I had got so used to seeing, into the room and made them come alive again. Help exceeded my expectations, with a good eye for design and practicalities, suggestions about colours and shops and recommendations of tradespeople and with an evident commitment to my project being completed to my satisfaction.

The brief was to redesign a basement that had suffered from flooding and was in a pretty grim state; plus update a spare bedroom which we needed to work harder as an office/spare bedroom. Josephine listened to my very vague plans, and within an amazingly short time came up with 3 different designs for 3 different budgets on an intractable pdf that allowed me to adapt and refine it until I was really happy with the design. The final result is fabulous and exactly like the final design pdf. Both the rooms Josephine designed are now our family's favourite rooms in the house - they are bright yet calm and modern yet fit well within our victorian house. Working with Josephine saved me both time and money and avoided lots of stress while delivering a design and finish that I would not have managed on my own! At our first meeting Josephine explained her design stages which I was grateful for as I hadn't worked with an interior designer before. Josephine made herself available to both myself and my builder while the works were going on; she was happy to pop in to discuss certain aspects face to face.. I felt the whole project was made painless due to Josephine's professional, approachable attitude and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. I will definitely use her services again.

Josephine helped us to present our house for sale. It was an incredible experience. Our house had been on the market for 7 months and we did not have many offers and all of them were low. We enlisted Josephine’s help and in the space of an afternoon she transformed our house into a dream family home. Most of it by re-arranging our existing furniture and accessories. She also suggested some items for us to borrow or buy cheaply second hand to make the house stand out even more. The transformation was remarkable and our house looked stunning. Josephine helped us completely decorate a 2 bedroom London flat; she designed layouts for the rooms, showing different options with moodboards and selected furniture. We are very inexperienced about interior design and her help was extremely valuable to understand how to make the best use of the space and create an interesting, warm and inviting space. We had hoped she could manage the process completely but due to all the furniture delivery delays in 2021 this turned out to be much more challenging than it should have been. Josephine continues to be a pleasure to work with. She has recently advised and designed two new bathrooms for us using a range of materials (tiles, wood, glass, quartz, mirrors) to bring interest and design flair. The overall results are warm, calming and much more appealing spaces with fun touches of colour in the artwork and accessories selected. They also look much bigger than before and yet have more storage - result! She has also chosen colours and styles that are consistent throughout the house which was particularly thoughtful and pleasing. We couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Josephine is a wonderfully creative artist who takes the time to understand the project and also the impact her ideas will have on the household. She is not afraid to push boundaries with both her designs and colour palette which was definitely something we needed! Josephine’s attention to detail and her understanding of light (natural and artificial) means that she is able to advise with confidence what will and will not work in a space in terms of colour, patterns and furniture. Throughout our project Josephine kept us up to date via messages and emails (even late at night!) and we cannot recommend her enough for helping us create our fabulous, cosy family home.

Josephine is an absolutely brilliant interior designer. She’s creative, highly professional and has designed such beautiful rooms for us which are both amazing spaces in terms of how they look and feel but also functionality. The top floor of our house with two bedrooms, a study and a bathroom had been rarely used but that changed when I began to work from home and we were expecting another baby. We added a second bathroom to her brief and she came up with beautiful designs. We felt quite overwhelmed with the task in hand but she has contacts with builders who we were extremely happy with. She drove the project forward to ensure that everything was ready in time. The top floor which didn’t really add anything to the house has become an amazing space that we love spending time in. My wife convinced me that we needed an interior designer, to be honest I saw it as a luxury that we didn’t really need but she’s providing a brilliant service that takes the hassle and a lot of stress out of building works in your home. We also could have never come up with so many great ideas, she’s made the house extremely special and it completely suits the personality of our family. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

Josephine redesigned our ground floor to create a family kitchen/dining room and a separate work and living space to meet our needs. She offered innovative ideas which prevented us wasting money on an unnecessary extension. We just needed help in seeing how the available space could be used more effectively. Josephine is really inspiring. She's obviously creative but she allows your creative side to come out too with her calm and positive style. We worked with Josephine on the colour scheme for our new house, this included walls, carpets, flooring and exteriors and she showed us the importance of a colour pallet and to allow each of the colours to flow, match and stand out.

I cannot recommend Josephine highly enough. Her exquisite taste, excellent eye and her sensitivity to the design requirements were outstanding. In addition, she project managed the building team which was not an easy task. Throughout she remained professional, calm and supportive. We miss her already.

Where to begin? Joséphine was an absolute joy to work with and delivered on every level. My husband and I had fallen out of love with our house, and having decorated it several times over the 14 year’s we’ve lived here, we wanted a fresh approach. Using an interior designer was a new experience and we thought it wouldn’t necessarily be for us (intimidating/ too expensive/ too ‘out there’). However, Joséphine seemed to intrinsically know what was needed to bring out the best in our house, work within our tastes and budget and challenge us with new ideas. From wallpaper choices to clever refurbishment ideas, we loved josephine’s approach to style and functionality. As with every project, there were sticking points with the building team, but Joséphine was an excellent mediator. Always incredibly professional and willing to go the extra mile. We are thrilled with the result of her endeavours and have fallen in love with our home again. We couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Josephine is an amazing interior designer. When I first contacted her for my project in 2018, needless to say that I was quite confused and had ran out of ideas for how to redesign my very outdated flat. Josephine patiently listened to me and came with a very clear idea of design for my living room, my hallyway, my bedroom and my 8-years-old's bedroom. I had seen architects and other designers without success. Josephine managed very quickly to understand not only what the problems were but more importantly how to solve them with. My main issue being the size of my flat being very small, Josephine came up with brilliant ideas to better manage the space but also put a very stylish touch completly in line with my tastes and personality. Josephine was also a gret support during the whole building work where she remained available and encouraging and helped me to keep on track. I would highly recommend Josephine for any interior design work as she is as exceptional at completely rethinking and rearrange an interior space as at creatively styling it.

We had the pleasure of working with Joséphine last year. She is a consummate professional as well as very friendly putting us both at ease on how this process would work. We love our new home; Joséphine’s suggested designs really bridged some of the differences in our taste as a couple and have created a beautiful living space for us. We thought that this process would be very expensive, but we actually saved money as Josephine makes suggestions based on what is tasteful and works not based on cost and she has made so many technical suggestions that we would never have thought of ourselves. We asked Josephine to help us design our extension. She was invaluable at suggesting colours and the complete layout. I liked her ideas for two blue tones for the walls and she managed to find a way for us to use it as a childminding area as well as making it a warm and welcoming home. Josephine was courteous and friendly. She listened to my ideas and made various suggestions which captured my ideas, as well as making other recommendations which were complimentary to my initial ideas. Whilst some of the suggestions were not what I was looking for, some of them I loved instantly and would never have found myself. I definitely feel that the design ideas I had were enhanced and implemented in a much more classy, impactful and design version of what I could have achieved on my own. I also think that Josephine’s advice on the impact of certain colours and styles in the specific room (size and shape) were things that I would not have known myself. On some issues, even where I had doubts and needed time to reflect, I ended up putting faith in Josephine’s judgment and was glad I did. The result was better than I could have inagined. We were delighted with the ideas that Josephine gave us to update and reconfigure a room in our house. She ensured the design worked with the existing decor in other rooms but emboldened us to try colours and fittings we’d not have been brave enough to choose ourselves. I contacted Josephine recently after we moved into our first family home. I knew that I wanted to redecorate and I had a very tight deadline to meet because I had to move in within 6 weeks. However, I really didn't know where to start. The house, although large and with a great layout was extremely uninspiring inside, every room felt dark and lacked any warmth. I brought Josphine in to help with two living rooms, our kitchen and master bedroom. I am so glad that I came across Josphine, I gave her an incredibly tight deadline to come back to me with mood boards because my decorater was ready to start. She met my deadlines and she has helped us create the most wonderful family home. The transformation is quite incredible, looking at the rooms now my husband and I agree there is no way that we would have created such a beautiful living space on our own. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Josephine. I already knew that Iiked her style as I’d seen previous projects on Houzz, she came up with a couple of different options for our units and we focused on one of them to make it right for our space. She was very quick to respond to my requests and very amenable too. We are delighted with how they look and would not only highly recommend her but would love to work with her again if we have future projects. A real highlight was working with a Steve, her carpenter. He worked really hard on the project, the finish is very high quality and he was a pleasure to be around. Both Steve and Josephine had a lot of attention to detail, which we especially appreciated.

I contacted Josephine after going through a complete house refurbishment. Once I got to the stage of decorating the interiors of the house - specifically the new open plan kitchen sharing a space with living room and dinning room - I felt stuck! I asked Josephine for ideas for refreshing two rooms in the family home, which initially involved recovering some beloved chairs and sourcing curtain fabric. Then I changed the project by moving to a newly built flat. Josephine stuck with it to help me reuse what I had put away and add new features, including a particularly challenging curtain pole installation. Her warm, cheery personality and attention to detail were reassuring. I love my new space where I am surrounded by things I want to live with.

We had the bathroom and kitchen design sorted weeks before I was able to secure a tradesperson to do the installation! Josephine is fab! She helped us jump start our basement renovation project. We wanted to turn a damp awkward space into a cool teenage den for our kids to hang out in. This was our 3rd attempt at sorting this room out. She presented some brilliant designs which were also very practical and affordable. Josephine is an inspirational designer! Having moved to a complete blank canvas with five floors needing furniture, lighting, colours and accessories we did not really know where to start. Josephine listened carefully to our ideas and then pushed our boundaries in terms of both colours and styles. She has an incredible eye for detail and for selecting beautiful pieces which stand alone whilst also complementing the overall design. She took great care in updating us regularly in terms of our budget, delivery dates and made sure she was available for lighting installations. We are delighted with Josephine's input on our kitchen/diner design. The builders started work in October and we didn't know what we were asking them to do! Josephine quickly came up with some interesting ideas to add fun, colour and style to our new space. She found some wonderful cement tiles for our kitchen splashback - I would never have thought of them myself, the builder was dubious but they look amazing. Likewise, she transformed our alcove into a fabulous feature but with plenty of storage space too. We are absolutely delighted with the work that Josephine has carried out on our house. What started off as a small, room by room project, quickly grew to encompass our TV room, office, master bedroom, teenage daughter’s bedroom and guest room - in fact, most of the house! While each room has it’s own unique identity, there is a unifying consistency throughout the house, which is exactly what we wanted. Josephine cleverly used many of our own things, up-cycling as she went, and married them with new and vintage pieces to create a stylish, yet practical, home. Her use of wood, metal, soft furnishings and stunning statement pieces in each room was simply inspired. Josephine was a pleasure to deal with throughout the project, which was delivered on time and on budget. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to others and indeed have already done so, with considerable success.

I was in desperate need of advice on where to hang (or not hang) all the pictures I love, most of which have sat in my attic collecting dust since we moved 6 years ago. I wanted some advice on how to organise and decorate a 'compact' living space. I had an idea of what might work but wasn't quite sure where to start, for example there were three possible options to place the television but I could not decide which was the best. Josephine was able to help me plan the living room to create 'zones' within it that would divide the room and offer separate ares for sitting and eating. This will maximise the space, give it a dual purpose without one zone interfering with the other. Her experience and expertise were invaluable and I would highly recommend JLV Design. Last year I had some time in-between 2 jobs and decided to build something that I always dreamed of - a garden studio. This was quite a challenge but I really enjoyed it. Where I needed help the most was in decorating the finish product. I'm good with a drill, but when it comes to choosing colours, I'm at lost. And Jo came to the rescue! The brief was simple. I wanted a modern urban man cave with plywood and all that cool Shoreditch style. Jo first selected the main colour which is a deep blue, and some amazing William Morris wallpaper. I was a bit sceptical about the latter but the end result is fabulous. She organised some shelvings and storage with oiled OSB doors, suggested leaving the raw plywood flooring and helped me selecting a nice Scandinavian desk. The end result is exactly ... me!
