We really enjoyed working with Mel on the redesign of our living room/open space kitchen. She helped us bring our nascent vision to life--from the idea generation to the execution--bringing a wealth of experience, great ideas, and decision-making support (can be the hardest part!) on coulor scheme/furniture/lighting. From mood board, to 'look and feel' swatches she made us feel like we were in the lead and could share if something wasn't quite right along the way. We are really happy with the result and feel really at home now in our space. We would definitely recommend Mel!

We worked extensively with Mel and Trish throughout 2022 to redesign and redecorate our house. Mel and Trish worked closely with us to help define our style. They gave us plenty of choices to suit our budget and made sure each room had the wow factor. We were redecorating from top to bottom and the tones throughout the house work seamlessly together but each room still has its own unique feel. We are delighted with the results.

Working with Mel and Trish was a dream! I had originally intended to use Mel and Trish to design a couple of rooms in my flat however after meeting them and getting inspired (both by their ideas for the flat, and their budget friendly ideas vs other more expensive companies I'd spoken to) I decided to put them in charge of managing the whole renovation. It was lovely to see that they were just as excited by the potential of the flat as I was, and at every stage I felt like they were just as invested and cared as much about the project as I did. They definitely challenged me to expand my horizons in terms of the design of the flat but all whilst keeping in line with my taste. It's a lovely feeling to walk around your home not being able to decide which room is your favourite! On a practical level, both Mel and Trish were fully involved in all stages of the project - from coming up with design concepts and colour palettes to project management to putting in place finishing touches. Workstreams were typically split between them to prevent overlap/confusion but we had constant communication throughout and messages were answered promptly. For most aspects of the project, decisions were able to be made efficiently as Mel and Trish would present a shortlist of options suiting a range of budgets - for example, the majority of paint colours for the flat were decided upon after their first presentation because Trish managed to capture everything I was after in one go! Also very useful was the samples of tiles, carpet, swatches etc sent directly to me at home. All of this resulted in a huge time saving for me. Finally, and most importantly - working with Mel and Trish was great fun. Everything was done with humour and respect, and what could have been a very stressful project was made into something enjoyable. I am absolutely delighted with the end results!

Mel and Trish did a fantastic job with our flat just before the arrival of our baby. They were very patient and supportive in helping us decide what we wanted and designed a space we love - particularly the nursery! They manged the whole process flawlessly and ensured it all got completed as per our timelines which was a blessing given I was 8 months pregnant, so the timeline was very inflexible. It was a real pleasure working with them and they exceeded what we thought would be possible with our flat.

We loved working with Mel and Trish from Mel Massey Studio. They helped us design a limited space that needed to do a lot for us as a growing family and helped us achieve something we would have never been able to do on our own. They were excellent at listening to what we wanted and needed and happy to iteratively develop their design with us. They also came up with great solutions to meet our budget and were happy to provide options for each element at different price points, and helped source everything from lightbulbs to cupboard handles using their expert knowledge of suppliers. In particular they came up with a great built in storage solution for us that delivered exactly what we needed but was also within our means. As well as designing the space they also project managed the work for us and despite some inevitable delays as we were still in Covid times, and nothing is ever straightforward in old Victorian houses they dealt with the problems that arose. We would absolutely recommend working with Mel and Trish and hope to do so again in the future.

Absolutely amazing. We worked with Mel and Trish to help us design and refurbish the majority of the downstairs of our house, including open plan living and dining room, downstairs toilet, entrance hallway and stairs/landing. They provided mood boards to help us design, brought in all contractors and project managed everyone involved. They were both excellent from start to finish. They listened to all our suggestions, but also pushed us to be more adventurous and we’re really happy with how everything turned out. We’d love to work with the again on our next project.

Mel and Trish recently assisted us with a whole flat refurbishment which involved several structural changes and full renovation and redecoration throughout. It was a pleasure to work with them both and their knowledge, guidance and trade contacts really helped to bring the project together and with an outcome that we were very happy with.

Mel and Trish completely transformed our kitchen - it used to be my least favourite place in the house, now it is my most favourite place to spend time. They pushed us out of our comfort zone just enough to drive a design that we absolutely love - and made the kitchen really work well for our family and how we use the space. Their knowledge of vendors and the builders they recommended were FANTASTIC. We are super happy with all aspects of the end product - the quality and design are perfect. Highly recommend!

I would 100% recommend Mel and Trish; their style, warmth, candour and collaboration helped me to curate a beautiful first home - far beyond what I could've envisaged without them. These women have great vision, but also riffed off and incorporated many of my suggestions, which made this project feel very fun and creative. They also have great connections for tradespeople as well as discounts from some amazing stores. Decorating/waiting for things to arrive can be very stressful but in my frustrated periods I felt reassured by their patience and expertise. So happy with the final result! I used Mel Massey Studio to redesign my one-bedroom apartment. Mel and Trish are a great team and were both so attentive and patient while I figured out exactly what I wanted. Smooth project management throughout and they partner with fantastic tradespersons. They've created a really beautiful and cohesive space and I couldn't be happier with the result! What was a fairly standard apartment in London is now really unique and suits all my specific needs. I only wish I'd found them sooner!

We enlisted Mel's help to bring too life our very first speciality coffee shop. The budget for this project was really quite tight so we were really moved by the lengths Mel went to , delivering a project that was on time and on budget. Mel's vision for our project was again so much more than we expected and like all great design continues to inspire our brands marketing and our customers. I worked with Mel and Trish for the entire renovation of my flat which included redesign floor layout and kitchen. They took on everything from project management all the way to styling / decoration, including inspiration and moodboards. It was an amazing collaboration. Loved working with Mel and Trish on our bathroom. They gave us confidence that we could be bold, even on a limited budget, and pushed us (gently) with design decisions where we would have probably played it too safe if left to our own devices. If you decide to work with a designer, you want that extra 'push' so that you get something better, smarter, and more innovative than you could have conceived of yourself, and that's what Mel and Trish gave us. Absolutely over the moon with how our bathroom has turned out; as well as the spectacular design, their knowledge of suppliers, materials, technical requirements (and not to mention, patience!) were invaluable in helping us work to budget and make things happen in a time-efficient manner. Again, something that would have been almost impossible if we'd gone it alone.

Mel helped me with the renovation of my bathroom and toilet. It's in a ex local authority from the 1950s and the bathroom and toilet had not been touched for decades. The place needed complete cosmetic work, from re tiling to changing toilet, bathtub, shower. I had an idea of how I wanted to look and the final look is actually quite different but in a good way - Mel started with my ideas and suggested things on top of them so we ended u with something hat looks even better than I initially thought. Mel is very creative and has lots of suggestions but is never pushy and lets the client decide, both creatively and in terms of budget. She worked with a regular builder she collaborates with, which made the whole management very friendly and easy. I would definitely recommend her and work with her again and I am 100% happy with the result.

We have so far worked with Mel and Trish for our lounge, bathroom and master bedroom. They have been great throughout and we are very pleased with what we have achieved. They listened to what we wanted and came up with some great designs that we would have never dreamed of. Will hopefully work with them more when we do the rest of the house (eventually)!

Mel & Trish have been AMAZING!! My husband and I have been planning our complete renovation project for the past 5 years so it was really important we got it right. I came across Mel & immediately was drawn to her whilst speaking on the phone. We then met Mel & Trish at the house & we knew instantly we were in good hands. They were able to get to see & understand what we would go for albeit push us out of our comfort zone from time to time but kept within acceptable parameters. They are so approachable, easy going & professional. I had many wobbles along the way & they were always able to ground me back. I sincerely believe this was because they take the time to get to know you as an individual which really helps when designing your home! They really know their stuff & we now have our dream home! My husband & I have no hesitation to recommend them. Now, it’s all over, I will really miss our chats, discussions/meetings. Mel & Trish, it’s been an absolute pleasure working with you both!

I'd seen Mel and Trish's work in another flat and were highly recommended by a close friend. Very professional and exceptionally happy with the vison and outcome of the project. The space is a 2 bed SW new build flat - transformed from soulless and whitewashed space to a warm and homely space. Taking good inspiration from the surrounding area and incorporating into the internal colour schemes. Warm (in the living and areas) to cool tones (in the bedrooms). There was a good line of communication between Mel, Trish and myself - from the developing the moodboards to project execution and management. I highly recommended.

My husband and I hired Mel Massey and her partner Trish to help us with the interior design of several rooms in our north London townhouse. We had completed a full renovation of our home several years before but had stopped short of the 'final touches' such as buying new furniture, curtains, nice lighting, rugs, art, etc. Mel and Trish viewed the rooms as blank slates and recommended all new furniture, lighting, rugs, curtains, artwork, etc for the rooms. We'd 'hands down' recommend Mel and Trish. They were professional and a pleasure to work with. They kept us on budget and also pushed us to look outside of our comfort zone. We love our house and are proud of the time we spent with Mel and Trish to make it look it beautiful.

Mel & Trish became my most valuable support on decorating my first home. As a young PhD student, I could not afford to live in a big place and, because of my studies, I did not want to share anymore. I found a tiny but super cute one bedroom flat in the heart of Hackney. I had never lived by myself before and I felt it was about time to move on to something new. I was ready to find a place to transform into something where I could feel safe, relaxed and most importantly, happy. I could never have done it without them. Since the first day we spoke, I felt the warmth in Mel’s voice over the phone. I was treated as any other client and I felt that, even my budget was tight, they both were willing to help me with this project. We connected. They were as in love with my place as I was. We all knew it had so much potential… but it needed Mel and Trish’s touch. They were always honest with me, about colour and texture combinations as well as with trends and styles. I opened up, and I was able to say cristal clear what I liked and what I didn’t. I think this was a very important point in our relationship and one of the main reasons it worked so well. I never felt alone, or left aside. Trish was coming over to supervise anything that was going on and Mel would call me at any time to make sure everything was alright. I wanted the space to be practical, I wanted to use every corner in a smart way but I did not want to overcrowd it. Simple, beautiful and warm. We did it, and I couldn’t feel happier about it. I strongly recommend these two gems for any project, big or small, easy or challenging. They are the clearest demonstration that no matter what your budget is, they can make it happen. Mel transformed our newly rented Shoreditch warehouse style space from a dark, cluttered, storeroom, into a light-filled, stylish creative hub. From the second the lift doors open, you experience a unique space that brings together a sense of history with a modern, confident and functional expression of design. On budget. On time.

Mel worked with me to renovate my kitchen and bathroom which had been untouched for almost eighteen years. Whilst I had quite definite ideas about what I wanted, Mel was able to make my ideas come to life. She also sourced our wonderful builder, Ben, who she managed throughout the process as well as liaising with the kitchen and window companies. Despite there being a few unforeseen challenges along the way, due to the age of the property, Mel kept me informed of these and managed the whole process smoothly. I'm so happy with my new kitchen and bathroom and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mel.

Mel Massey and her colleague Trish Scorgie have been and continue to be fantastic as we decorate and furnish our family home. My partner and I contacted them when I was heavily pregnant and needed to make as many decisions as we could about our new house before the baby arrived. They immediately jumped on the case and we're very grateful for everything they've done. They are swift, stylish, imaginative, knowledgeable, flexible, patient, smart, sympathetic, fun and have very high standards for their own work and for the contractors they recommend. The house is looking gorgeous and they've done a brilliant job of making it feel like our house but also pushing us to be more interesting and braver than we would have been on our own. el was ab absolute pleasure to work with. She transformed my house just like I wanted. I had limited time to make the house feel like my own and restyle it and I was worried that an Interior designer would impose her own taste; not at all. Mel completely understood what I wanted and delivered her service in a timely and efficient manner. we hire Mel to transform are sons bedroom. what an amazing job she did! she took the information from as and the stress!! she transform my sons bedroom from a lifeless, dull room, into amazing beautiful room. he had a wardrobes, shelves design, the choose of colours and interior designer was all down to Mel. we all loved it , especially my son!

Me and Mel have done a few projects , we teamed up to build and design bespoke wardrobes. As i'm a carpenter i made the bespoke wardrobes , but Mel design every bit of it and she always is accurate and brilliant with her detail , designs and taste of colours.

Having just bought my first property I could not have met a better interior designer to help me through the process of designing my first home. Every step of the way from the first design meeting to managing the project to delivery, Mel was fantastic, am in love with my new home. I recommend her services and expertise.

As a cabinet maker and furniture designer I partnered with Mel to design, produce and install a kitchen. It was a great collaboration. Mel has a fantastic eye, her colour choice & material choice were second to none. Attention to detail and the way materials, products and lighting were mixed transformed a dingy basement kitchen into a bright urban chic kitchen diner. It resulted in a brilliant finished project, the client loves it and Mel was a delight to work with.

I've now worked with Mel on a couple of projects. Mel needed two bespoke artworks to be created as a central feature within her room designs and I was delighted to help. From the off, Mel was very clear with the brief, the budget and the colour palette which made my life easier - she was very fashion-forward in her use of interesting colour palettes and materials. The whole project right through from briefing stage to final hanging was seamless, well communicated and fun. Mel and I will definitely work together again.

I'm a London based interior photographer. When shooting an interior it's essential that you are in tune with your colleagues around you, working with Mel is fluid, we have that bond where we don't have to ask each there to do something, Mel has already done it. She has a great eye for detail and we bounce off each other when planning a photo.

Mel was one of the interior designers on House Doctor for C5 and she was a fantastic designer to work with. She came up with stylish, cost effective designs for the rooms we were filming, then helped the presenter bringing the ideas to life. She has excellent taste and an eye for a statement piece. I'd work with her again any day.

We hadn't decorated our kids bedrooms since they were toddlers and they were in desperate need of a teen/tween update. Mel created a beautiful space for my daughter - a sanctuary if you like, while she negotiates her teen years, paying careful attention to ensuring it was sassy contemporary and doesn't date quickly. The room perfectly represents my daughter's personality, needs and interest. For my younger son, we needed to maximise the space in a significantly smaller room and ensure that it was robust enough to take a bit of a battering from an exuberant tween! Again, Mel create a space which was aspirational, age appropriate but had longevity. The coolest teen bedrooms in Highbury!

Mel & I worked together on Channel 5's House Doctor! Not only does she has the loveliest of personalities making it easy to collaborate, but she is darn good at what she does which is making things look FAB on a tight budget! She's creative without being wacky, refined without being stuffy and supremely unique in her take on design.

Mel did an outstanding job styling each of the sets for a video shoot. Each and every one was exactly the right style to reflect the high end nature of our brand. Would highly recommend!

Mel created a great working space for me at my company, a creative marketing agency in London, W1. Her skill at combining highly individual pieces, which were both unique and functional always won me great compliments, whenever anybody new entered my office. She was able to pull through my individual personality and the tone of the agency and its work, at the same time as working to a tight budget and timeframe. I don't know where she sourced the butcher's table, which became my desk, or the towel rails I filed my books on, but her inspirations and her clever sourcing worked brilliantly with a vintage leather sofa and some basics from Ikea. She also re-covered some beautiful 1950's chairs with some bright prints to add a pop of colour to the classic black, chrome and white palette. It was a wonderful space that allowed me to think and function professionally within an aesthetic which was beautiful and peaceful but not distracting in any way.

Mel designed a 'lounge-inspired' retail space and office for my shoe company, and did a wonderful job sourcing quirky and unusual pieces of furniture and artwork, as well as creating a solution that worked perfectly for my high end customers and staff. The result was absolutely outstanding, and attracted significant press coverage and a real 'wow' factor within the industry. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Mel again - she's a genius!
