We worked with Ann on the renovation and redecoration of our house ( 5 rooms including living room, dining room and main bedroom plus landing and stairway) during 2022 and 2023. From the very moment she visited to look at the property and propose options she was an inspiration. Ann throughout the project was creative, imaginative and pushed our thinking in design, colour and feel. She created mood boards, developed budgets and plans, provided fabric and paint samples, and used her experience and network to great effect on our behalf. She makes insightful and useful suggestions for solutions to problems and always respects our budget and decisions. Ann works with a team of craftsmen and tradesmen who are all exceptional from joiners to plumbers, upholsterers, electricians, and decorators. With any project, there are many scheduling details and issues but Ann always aimed to keep us up to date and fit in with our needs. Ann is very straightforward and pleasant to work with and made the whole thing seem fun and genuinely showed as much joy as we did in the outcome. We are now working with Ann on planning additional rooms. We are confident she will deliver the same professional service and contemporary feel to the project she has successfully provided on the rest of our home.

I worked with Ann on the renovation and re-design of my kitchen, lounge and dining room, following extensive remedial damp work in my Victorian terrace in York. After initial consultation, Ann took on board my requirements, budget and interior tastes and was great at suggesting ideas and pulling together a proposal - pushing me outside my comfort zones at times, but with the aim of creating a beautiful yet functional look, with close attention to the period features and existing limitations of the building. Work took place during the Pandemic, which brought issues of its own, but Ann worked collaboratively with both myself, the Builder, and helped recommend and project manage the excellent tradespeople required to execute the design. There were regular visits and checks on the quality of workmanship - and the resulting renovation was fantastic! Thank you Ann, for all your hard work on this!

Ann Allan has helped us with interior design over the last six months as we have relocated and downsized from our home of 33 years to an apartment. We set her a tough challenge as we wanted to completely change the style of the main living area to be much more personal to us and our lives, while also accommodating a few pieces of our furniture of different styles but all with emotional value to us. The challenge was all the greater as we first approached Ann in the middle of the coronavirus lockdown and all the work was carried out during the pandemic, following government guidelines. The pressure was on everyone involved to allow us to move in before the virus entered a second wave. Ann rose to the challenge and we are finally in and really pleased with the result. The place now feels like home! The masterstroke was finding a large multicoloured rug which anchored the disparate parts of the scheme as a whole. All Ann's recommended tradesman were also excellent and easy to have around over the three months during which work took place.

Ann and team created the colour scheme for house renovation. Ann provided sample paints for our chosen scheme to ensure we were happy with the chosen colour way. Now the project is completed we have a house with a wonderful colour way which flows seamlessly through the property and we get endless compliments on the choice of colours! I have used Houzz for a number of house and garden projects in the last five years so when I was looking for help with a refurbishment project I was delighted to find Middlethorpe Interiors had won a Houzz award and were based relatively close to me, in York. I made contact and very quickly settled on all the creative suggestions that were offered selecting from a wide range of options. I wanted everything project managed and I found the tradesmen who came really good at their work. They worked cleanly, efficiently and consulted whenever necessary to get the best result. Dates and times were well planned and emailed to me in good time. There was one hitch where a product became unavailable and immediately alternative suggestions were made. Ann made point of visiting after each stage to ensure our satisfaction and to check work was to her satisfaction as well. It was a pleasure to work with Ann and Natalia and I have no hesitation in recommending Middlethorpe Interiors.

Working with Ann was seamless and she turned what was for me a daunting interior project into a realistic and achievable dream come true. She has helped me transform my new house into my dream home and I am delighted with the finish look. Very efficient, attentive and lots of different options were explored, before making our final decision. The finished curtains and blind fit perfectly in our newly decorated lounge.

After fifteen years of providing the backdrop to a busy family life, our house was in need of more than just a lick of paint. We needed an interior designer who would be sympathetic not only to the house but to the sometimes differing views of my husband and I, who would listen, provide alternatives and help us reach a solution. The team at Middlethorpe Interiors were superb; they have a fine eye for detail, an instinct for what works and the ability to breathe fresh life into a home. We very quickly grew to trust the team’s judgement and were constantly impressed with how a scheme would suddenly come together through small details, such as echoing existing architectural features in a room or changing handles on bedroom furniture. The team’s communication skills are first class. Middlethorpe Interiors kept in constant contact with us throughout the project, always following up calls and emails promptly, being on site to make sure workmen turned up on time and knew exactly what they were doing and returning after each stage to check we were happy that the implementation matched the concept. We are absolutely delighted with the end result and cannot recommend them highly enough.

We moved into our new build in 2013 with the typical white walls in every room. Four years later we decided to move things on. Understandably we were both a little nervous about the change, so our choice of interior designer was very important to us. We have always sought recommendations and fortunately Middlethorpe Interiors were suggested. After meeting Ann the nervousness was replaced by excitement of what she was creating for us. Don't get me wrong there were times along the way when we felt our "design comfort zone" was being challenged, but we are so glad we trusted in her creativity.
