In 1876 Alexander Morton introduced lace making to the valley towns and MYB came to take its place among the giants of the Scottish Textile Industry. The 1970's saw a change in the infamous industry with local mills struggling to compete with the distribution of the emerging overseas economies. Over the following years, changes in trends and production shaped the future of many local mills. This to their commitment to exploring new means of production and ingenious originality. The bespoke technology at the heart of MYB's production has been integral to its success and continues innovations. As the only mill in the world to house such revolutionary technology, MYB can uniquely preserve its signature styles and standards of production. MYB survived and continues to manufacture Scottish Madras and Lace today thanks to their commitment to training for succession and their ability to recognize and be a step ahead of the ever-changing industry.
