About Us

Prospect Refuge Studio applies a holistic, narrative approach to design. No matter its age, our intention is to build the history of your home while celebrating its present and anticipating its future. We’re concept driven and detail motivated. We’re committed to craftsmanship and the psychology of space. We construct an aesthetic that is mindful of how you’ll move, feel and live within your home. Through informed design experience and expertise, we create spaces that evoke memories while creating new ones. Prospect Refuge Studios is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and welcomes whole home design opportunities throughout the United States and internationally. We now have a stunning and well crafted great room and dining space thanks to Prospect Refuge. This talented team listened carefully, designed thoughtfully, secured experts in each trade, managed the entire project, and did it all within budget! I suspect our incredible outcome is also grounded in the honesty, attentiveness, and excellence each member of Victoria’s team displayed each step of the way.

If you are looking for a designer with versatility, creativity, attention to detail, and all-around great taste, PRS is exactly who you should hire. Victoria and her team designed a dreamy master suite for our home and we love retreating to it at the end of every day. We also appreciate the contractor recommendations and involvement through the entire remodeling process. It's such a treat to have this space in our home!

What a dream to work with Victoria and her team! Among the many wonderful things about working with PRS + Victoria: her eye for detail. Her inclination to push you - in a good way! Her support for local makers. Her follow-up. How to mesh new spaces with the rest of your home. Victoria did a beautiful overhaul of our three-season porch, making it a usable, versatile space - while keeping two large heirloom wicker chairs. It's a warm, inviting cocoon that I want to be in always. She also helped us choose updated lighting and fixtures in the dining room and kitchen then make them feel like ours - and like brand new spaces. I so appreciate that she was willing to work on the budget to make it workable for us. You feel entirely looked after, and I know you'll be pleased with her work.

The team at Prospect Refuge Studio helped make our office dream a reality! After moving into a new space, they helped us take a blank canvas and turn it into something we're proud to work from and host clients in every day. They took time to listen to what we wanted and made it work within the budget parameters we set. And not just that, they delivered an end result that is full of personality. From start to finish they were top professionals, keeping the lines of communication open and working with us as the needs of the project changed along the way. I couldn't be a bigger champion for what this team can do and would highly recommend them to anyone out there, whether it's a home or office project, big or small. PRS was great to work with from project ideation to completion. The team helped take our project theme "both mid-century modern and bohemian" and presented options that aligned with our comfort but also expanded our mental bandwidth. The process was multi-step and evolved into a better than expected finished product. The fluidity of the budget was consistently updated to our approval and managed appropriately. In addition, they have partnered with exceptional contractors and designers that brought all the concepts to reality.

Victoria and her team completely transformed our 100+ year-old craftsman home. We had a vague idea of what we wanted but did not know how to make it happen. Victoria took our idea and made it so much better. Her design brought life and some fun into our house while respecting its original characters. It is beautiful, but also practical. She pushed the boundaries, but also respected our preferences. It was a great experience working with her and her team, and we love how the house turned out.

Victoria and Carrie were really lovely to work with and I couldn't recommend them enough. I didn't have a strong idea of what I wanted, so they really helped to shape the apartment, with my input. I was very happy with the pieces we chose - I felt like they were unique and high quality without being pretentious. Victoria and Carrie were also extremely responsive, worked to make sure everything was right and in the end, felt like home.

I am SO happy we chose to use Prospect Refuge Studio for our full kitchen remodel! I had a specific vision in my mind of what I wanted, but wasn't sure how to pull it together. They made my vision come to life- I am still in LOVE with walking into my kitchen everyday. We changed our minds more than once on what we wanted to get it perfect, and PRS was totally fine with it and rolled with the punches. We were so happy with the kitchen, we decided to get some design work for our living room as well--I wanted a cohesive look throughout the main living area. Both Victoria and Carrie were a joy to work with, I would HIGHLY recommend them!

We recently purchased a house that needed a complete cosmetic re-do, and a totally gutted kitchen. In addition to the kitchen, project included 3 new exterior doors, repainting every inch of the house, refinishing all the floors, and all new light fixtures and hardware. While we had a very general idea of where we wanted to go, Victoria was an immense help in making all the decisions that needed to happen. She found light fixtures we absolutely love that I know we would have never found on our own, and she was able to stay within our budget. She had excellent and well priced options for contractors and saved us a lot of time with her knowledge. Totally worth it and would absolutely recommend.

We used Victoria and Carrie to update our formerly very formal Music Room--think big ebony Grand Piano with beautiful but uncomfortable seating. The end result is still a formal room but it is so comfortable and cozy now, thanks in a large part to the fabrics they chose which are just the right mix between formal and casual and yet they are luxurious to the touch. They also picked out new lamps and wall sconces and a few accent tables but worked with our existing Persian rugs and treasured family heirlooms. We are so pleased with the final product and now find ourselves spending more and more time in this beautiful space relaxing by the fire. Thanks Victoria and Carrie
