Rachel Power Design

We approached Rachel when we were part of the way into the project and we needed help resolving our confusion in deciding colours for a kitchen/dining/family room development. Rachel was very succinct and clear which colours and materials would combine to develop our rather one dimensional approach to the space! She was a great help and we are now clear how to proceed!

We found Rachel on Google like many, but after our first meeting I knew she totally got what we were after. If you are looking for a friendly, creative, detailed perfectionist of a designer - then look no further. Rachel got our style straight away, seeing that we wanted a stylish but practical home for a family with young children. And my goodness she delivered. Along with the PM team she works closely with Rachel’s designs have become a reality. At every stage of design, product ideas through to the finishing touches of plants and cushions her eye for detail is incredible. Communication is excellent and always happy to look for alternatives. Rachel undertook the design of our new home throughout the entire rebuild and remodel process, working in lockstep with our architects, builders and us. Throughout the process, she was incredible, and our builders and architects loved working with her as much as we did. She was patient, responsive, reliable and timely. The builders were never held up needing a decision from Rachel - she did so many things that I didn't even know needed doing - such as detailed drawings of where light sockets and electricity outlets, radiators and other things should go, to ensure we had the best look, feel and function, as well as the colour, fabrics, furniture layouts (which informed room sizes and shapes with architects), cupboards, kitchen layouts and more. I was extremely impressed with her technical excellence and ability to deliver on all these areas, and the amount of work and time that went into it. And goes without saying that she was amazing with the interior design colours and furnishings. She quickly got a feel for our tastes and styles, and provided a perfect combination of interesting ideas, adding flair and interest that we love but would never have thought of on our own, alongside colour and style that is ideal for us. She was patient and open when we didn't like her choices, when we disgreed with each other and even when we changed our own minds - and was always happy to provide alternatives and new ideas to ensure we were 100% excited. She involved us the whole way with everything that mattered to us or where she knew we needed to pay attention (even if we didn't think we cared!) but was also fabulous at just taking care of all the small things that we didn't have a preference for, all the way down to the hooks and other details that ensured everything fit together amazingly in the house. She even took care of all the ordering and deliveries. The result of this is that we are absolutely head over heels in love with our new home and credit Rachel with the entire look and feel being exactly what we dreamed of. I couldn't recommend her more highly and more whole heartedly.

When we decided to totally refurbish our house, I found Rachel on Houzz. She has always been very responsive and has supported us in achieving our dream home. Over several visits Rachel totally understood the brief and our vision and put together fantastic mood boards which really help you see how each room will come together, from toilet roll holders to chandeliers, you name it, and she finds it! She was even kind enough to store some larger items of furniture whilst our house was a building site! I would 100% recommend her!

As a recently bereaved and elderly widow I knew I should require help with the renovation of the the house I bought in Hampshire having sold my home of many years in Cheshire. My new house well fitted my basic requirements, but having had little attention since it was built 25 years previously, was in serious need of renovation to give it a fresh new look whilst being mindful of the necessity of providing for the needs of an elderly woman living on her own, and to accommodate as far as possible the antique family furniture she brought with her. From the start Rachel was full of enthusiasm and good ideas and I was impressed that she was keen to see photos of my previous home enabling her to find the ‘look and feel’ that I was aiming for. I had already selected a business to replace the existing bathrooms and kitchen and I was very impressed with the way Rachel coordinated both teams enabling them to work in harmony and correctly sequenced, despite all the difficulties imposed by delays, shortages and Covid. I was delighted by the soft furnishings she found and decorating proposals and by the team of people she had available to make it all happen. In emergencies, Rachel was quick to realise the need for, and to use, a vac, and very strong when furniture needed moving! I am delighted with my new home and extremely grateful to Rachel and to the team who put it together for me.

We worked with Rachel on a whole house refurbishment for our 5 bedroom property and I can’t speak highly enough of Rachel’s services. The design process was extremely professional with everything from outline concepts, full room design, sourcing and project management completed to a high standard. The finished product is excellent with all building work, fixtures and furniture delivered and built to a very high quality. Rachel is really personable and responsive; keeping us fully up to date and managing the breadth of a large project time. The whole process wasn’t in any way stuffy or pretentious and we felt comfortable asking questions, making changes or adjusting plans to our preferences or budget. Overall, would highly recommend.

Rachel is a fantastic designer and has helped us create a wonderful family home. We bought our forever home which was much larger than our last one so we needed quite a bit of furniture, but also wanted to use what we had. I had met another designer before her who wanted to replace everything and refused to work just on refreshing any room but Rachel was the complete opposite. Some rooms she just suggested a light touch, such as painting or cushions which completely changed them but others were an entire design, from flooring to AV and all furniture. She really optimised our budget combining high street finds as well as designing beautiful bespoke units such as our media unit and dressing table. Rachel took time to really understand what we wanted (with 3 young children it had to be family friendly too) and made what seemed to be an overwhelming process very easy. We could not be happier with our home and would not hesitate to recommend her.

I consulted Rachel to style our living room. She was very creative in putting together a colour scheme and furniture arrangements that I would not have thought of. She was very professional, took my small project seriously and discussed it with me multiple times to make sure it met my taste. Rachel is creative, professional and approachable and l would highly recommend her.

We would highly recommend Rachel! She helped us to re-decorate our open plan sitting area, playroom and master bedroom. She really listened to our needs and took time to understand our style. We’ve ended up with a decor that feels totally ‘us’ but she encouraged us to consider things we wouldn’t have chosen on our own. So delighted with the results! Rachel has been absolutely amazing! From start to finish her designs, recommendations and professionalism has been above and beyond. Our home is really starting to take shape and look more and more amazing as deliveries arrive and items placed in their position. Rachel designed and project managed my wardrobe and kitchen fitting. We started the work remotely during the lockdown and she expertly navigated me through the process from idea to design and then installation after the lockdown ended. We had the pleasure to work with Rachel to redesign the ground floor of the house. She is a very good professional, focused on the client’s needs and offering beautiful and innovative ideas to fit the overall brief. Most of our meetings were virtual as lockdown kicked in immediately after we started working together, and we have managed to get everything done without any delay. Rachel came and re-designed two spaces in our house that we had found it hard to make good use of ever since we moved into our house 9 years ago. She has transformed them, both visually and practically, and I now enjoy them both so much more. Rachel helped to design and project manage various rooms in my house, including a study, 2 children's bedrooms and a dressing room. Her style and sense of colour are wonderful, her network of contacts great, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.

We have used Rachel Power Design twice in the last 18 months. The first was a kitchen refurbishment project. Rachel had been commissioned to design the kitchen layout, material sourcing which included tiles, kitchen worktop, flooring and colour scheme. We are very glad that we sought advice from her. We found Rachel very professional and easy to deal with. She delivered the project on time and within the agreed budget, but most importantly- very creative. Will definitely use her again, which we did in our next project - office refurbishment.

Rachel was extremely helpful in planning and designing my daughters bedroom. It's a very small space and the furniture needed to be bespoke and I was struggling to see how I could make it work. She was great at keeping me informed on my options and helping me to visualise the end result. Rachel managed the whole project and kept to our budget - we have one very happy six year old. Would highly recommend her and we are already discussing the plans for our bathroom renovation.
