From Louise in the Cotswolds After my husband died a couple of years ago I was in need of a project to cheer me up. I looked at our home of 30 years and it was very tired. I was recommended Sam Goldstone to give me professional advice to upgrade my lovely large Jacobean Cotswold village house. Working with her has been a joy and cost me very little. Indeed, not making mistakes has actually saved me a lot. The difference in style, though, between using a highly qualified designer as opposed to myself - a keen do-it-yourselfer - has to be seen to be believed. We started by converting a billiard room into a beautiful guest bedroom worthy of a five star hotel. We then changed a messy study into a charming snug. All of my visitors covet this beautiful little room. Next on our list was my dining room. The last time my husband and I ate there was 25 years ago. It is now breathtaking with paneling and striking wallpaper. The benefit of having Sam’s help has turned my rather sad life into great fun. It has also incidentally added tens of thousand of pounds to my very desirable home.

Sam provided a high quality design service for the renovation of our Grade II listed, 1st floor apartment. Sam initially met with us in our home and took into account all of our furnishings and tastes. She then made recommendations of which furnishings we could continue to use and came up with lots of suggestions on how to best marry our style with that of our period home. Consideration was given to the purpose and use of each room. Sam produced designs for each room, giving us a few different designs for each. Sam was a great help during the process of applying for listed building consent with the Council. She produced the heritage statement along with all the detailed drawings that were required. We could not have got through this process with the Council's Conservation team without Sam's professional and knowledgeable input. Sam's attention to detail and her knowledge of interiors and quality suppliers is endless. We would certainly use Sam's services again when we do our next renovation.
