Because we were dong a complete back to brick renovation of a large Victorian villa, we knew we couldn’t do it alone. We’d never worked with an interior designer before so she held our hands through so much more than what house would look like. As soon as we met I knew we’d get on. And that is so important in a relationship like this. Her warmth, patience, empathy and humour though a very stressful renovation kept us sane. You don’t realise how important those qualities are until you are living in a house full of builders as we were! She and her team are detailed, professional and supportive in all their communications. Vital when there are so many moving parts in a renovation project. She really understood the reality of designing a beautiful but practical home for a busy family with a set budget. She worked with the quirks of our old house and pieces we already had and introduced us to local suppliers who allowed us to update it without losing any of its charm. She elevated our ideas, brought a consistency and story to the rooms and made everything happen so much faster and with a much higher quality than we could have managed alone. Her attention to detail and years of experience of working with builders meant we could give our trades detailed plans of exactly where and what lighting and sockets we’d need at the right point in the project. She was also a wonderful sounding board and advice giver when I was struggling with builders - the fact she has been through projects like this so many times before meant I was more confident in insisting on what I needed rather than letting the builders do what they wanted! She helped us with everything from our kitchen, entertaining rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms. From flooring to bathroom fixtures, lighting, accessories and soft furnishings.”
