We all crave homes that look gorgeous, function perfectly and reflect our individuality. Increasingly now though our space needs to be versatile, long lasting and respectful of the planet. We prize each of these goals at Cid Carr Interior Design, while working on projects very diverse in size and style, from single rooms to the largest houses. Though all very different, they start and finish with one clear aim, to delight the client for years to come.

We had the pleasure of working alongside Cid Carr Interior Design on a recent bespoke orangery, which formed part of a wider re-modelling of a listed rectory in the Cotswolds. Cid designed the interior space and acted as project liaison throughout, which resulted in the subtle transformation of this heritage property into a home for modern family living. We would highly recommend Cid’s demonstrable expertise and discerning taste and look forward to working with her again in the future.

When we bought The Chapel, it was not only, in desperate need of refurbishment but also a complete reconfiguration to make better use of the limited space. Cid was fantastic and embraced the challenge of redesigning the layout to bring proportion and harmony to the building. She opened up the downstairs, moving the bathroom to the gallery level which gave us an uninterrupted view right through to the small, terraced garden at the back – which made the Chapel instantly seem so much bigger. Cid was very professional and inspiring, listening to what we had in mind and then offering designs options, moodboards, and colour and furnishing ideas, all with a calm and considered, collaborative approach. As well as bringing a refined aesthetic, Cid has incredible knowledge of a wide range of disciplines which helps in managing the different trades needed. The end result is amazing – retaining the integrity and feel of the building, whilst turning it into a fabulous space to live.

We have recently completed a £2 million, 5 year project to convert a classical Georgian stables/coachhouse quadrangle into a 5 bedroom home. Throughout Cid has been an integral and indispensable part of the design team. Her work has been faultless, and that we are in one piece at the end of it, and thrilled with the result is almost entirely due to her skill, experience, impeccable eye, attention to detail, and gift for people wrangling. As a client I have felt her to be an utterly unflappable guide and mentor who understood completely what we were trying to achieve, and showed us how to do it - all done with grace, charm and kindness. I am sad that our professional association has come to an end (for now) and cannot recommend her more highly to those considering a similar (or any other) project.

Having entertained serious misgivings at our project’s inception over the necessity of adding an Interior Designer to a team already consisting of Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Structural Engineer, Main Contractor, Site Manager and two competent clients with long experience of living in a Grade 1 listed building, I have been surprised and gratified by how much the inclusion of Cid in the team has brought to the party. Her knowledge and experience of all stages of the build made her inclusion from the start not only seamless but also fruitful. The fact that the finished interior looks, lives in and feels better than we could have imagined by ourselves is entirely down to her. It has been a pleasure.

Cid is an absolute genius. Her advice in readying my house for market certainly added substantial value. Her attention to detail, top tips and generous incorporation of my own ideas and belongings turned a sterile new build into a home ready for the market and made it beautiful enough to attract a buyer in very short order.

The Vision: Cid is imaginative, enthusiastic and empathetic and brings out the best in me as a client - nudging me to be a little more adventurous than usual but still within my comfort zone. Between us we came up with a beautiful, stylish but highly practical solution for our large but hard-lived Edwardian mansion flat in central London which incorporated every room and all utilities. The Reality: Cid's people management skills are superb. She's diligent, pays great attention to detail and budget and above all is tactful, firm and good-humoured with tradesmen - getting the best from everyone contracted to work for us. As with all projects we had setbacks but Cid has the knack of coming up with a solution before we'd realised there was a problem.

As a professional interiors photographer, I can relax if Cid's styled it. She's very easy to work with and has that special ability to know when something works just right. The magazines I work with appreciate Cid's taste and as a result her work has featured in high quality national publications. Always a pleasure and I highly recommend her work. We worked with The Fountayne on the renovation and new build extension of a three bedroom, three bathroom 19th century Cotswold cottage. As a premium building contractor, it was a pleasure to work with Cid. Professional, at all times, with a serious understanding of the technical challenges, she never lost sight of the client's ultimate creative goal. I would recommend The Fountayne unreservedly. I would thoroughly recommend The Fountayne. Cid is professional, creative and a joy to work with. I wanted a total re-vamp and Cid sourced both vintage and contemporary pieces and re-hung all my pictures - I am delighted with the result which is being photographed next month by an interiors magazine. Cid gave me a clear budget, plenty of options and was flexible and calm when I changed my mind! She really listened and understood what I was looking for but added her own unique style. Cid is a great communicator with a great sense of humour and is very good at staying in touch - I really felt like I was in good hands.. I had a clear budget and unlike previous jobs with other designers this came in on budget and in my opinion looks like it cost a great deal more than it did. I find it's not easy to find someone who is both highly creative but also organised, focussed and delivers on promises - Cid certainly does.

Fountayne have been excellent in all aspects of their service and design considerations and I would thoroughly recommend them to others. I have used them on a number of occasions and found that the design aspects have been not only superb, but equally important to me, appropriate to the circumstance. So on some occasions I have required a top-end design and this has been provided whilst for others a more modest scheme was appropriate. In all cases the personal touch and care has been at the forefront of the delivery of the product and the service. This has been invaluable to me in knowing that I have in Fountayne a really reliable partner delivering quality product.
