On designing a young boys bedroom: '[Erika] saw the bedroom through their eyes and had loads of ideas about how to improve the space from a little ones perspective (...) As soon as she sees a room she instinctively knows just how to use the space more effectively.' Erika Interiors is a full-service Interior Design Studio specializing in bespoke Scandinavian interior design in West Berkshire as well as offering virtual walkthroughs online. We specialise in odd shaped spaces and we turn dark rooms, funny layouts and small spaces into a stunning flow in any home. Erika Interiors offers a wide range of services starting from a 3-hour in-person or virtual design walk-through to full-scale project installation. No project is too big or too small, our team of experts will deliver on time and within budget. Erika has a unique eye for design, she creates balanced, calm, comfortable homes that are simple, functional and beautiful. She believes that negative old patterns need to be cleared out to make space for positive energy and the new things you crave for. This is why the first thing we establish after our initial meeting is what needs to be replaced, changed, moved, shifted. Throughout our design process, the space turns into a blank canvas and we fill it with elements that feel good, carefully crafting everything around what is YOU. The questions you’ll receive, are questions like, how do you want your home to feel, what is the feeling that you wanna have when you walk through that threshold of your home? Do you want to carry the negative feelings into your backstage life or do you want to walk in and just be washed over by this wonderful feeling of calm & happiness? Erika is amazing! We recently moved into a new house and needed a lot of new decor. The previous owners had left some things...like curtains, that we knew we didn't want, but figuring out what we did want, and how to arrange things was hard. That's when I had Erika do a walk-through. We went room to room and she gave recommendations about what we could do to make it better. She understood our style and what we were going for. Her ideas were things I never would have thought of, but made dramatic changes. Everything isn't quite how we want it yet--still need new light fixtures, additional pieces, but the start we've made is awesome, and I can't wait to keep implementing the ideas Erika gave to make our home truly ours.

I hired and spoke to Erika about how I could open up my space and make it feel more like home. I had spent most of 2018 overworked and stressed and my home reflected that. It didn't feel as bright and vibrant as it used to and so with her help, I got rid of a lot of furniture and started investing in having all the essentials I needed in my home. With her work and mind - it just started creating incredible results. I wake up every day breathing easy vs feeling stuffy. Thanks Erika!

Wow! Erika understand so much more than just design! She understood exactly what was missing from my home that was leaving me feeling cold! I mean not just cold in the physical sense but also that I was feeling cold emotionally towards it. I did not realise that there was nothing of me in it! I was referring to my home of 7 years as my "partner's home" and Erika recognised this and helped me see how I could improve my relationship with the space and add my personality to the apartment. Erika has helped me play a bigger part in the design of my home and given me a more comfortable place to be.

Amazing experience working with eRika. She completely transformed our sitting room space guiding me virtually through the entire process. Telling to move pieces of furniture, wall paintings, lamps from o e area to another. I was worried at first about the virtual thing but the results are outstanding. We now love hanging out in oursitrong which went from blah to BAM! in less than 2 hours that she worked with me. Very impressed.

On first contact , Erika was rather unassuming and not quite how I expected an Interior Designer might be - - you know all gushing and full of it ! However, once we established my requirements - to turn a rather dowdy and unnatractive summer house into a romantic "girlie" space for my wife - away from the 5 men in the family , she instantly got on with the job in hand ! Although Erika did make a few site visits a lot of the discussion and feedback between us was also by email and whats app - it had to be on time as I was keeping it under wraps until my wife's 50th Birthday ! The result was amazing and my wife loved it - - cant,t keep her out now - - the boys always know where to fund her ! Thank You Erika for an exellent job !! ( Sorry was not quite sure how to show pictures - perhaps you can Erika ? ) Ps. I promise to learn a bit more Hungarian before you come again!

I worked with eRika on a 3 month internship which started in November 2017. During this time, I worked remotely with eRika on a 1 bedroom apartment in Budapest. The process involved skype calls and a series of emails which allowed us to work closely as a team. eRika gave me great professional advice and mentoring and taught me a lot of skills that I hadn't learned at University. I would highly recommend eRika Interiors as she is very motivated and dedicated to her work. She creates beautiful mood boards and visuals which translate her ideas nicely to her clients. She designs gorgeous Scandinavian interiors using new innovative ideas. I hope to collaborate with her again in the future as I really enjoyed working on this project with her.

I really needed a facelift for my rented apartment but I had a very small budget. I asked Erika to help me decorate the place as if it was down to me, I would make everything grey, but I was after something a lot less boring. She created a couple of moodboards & visuals, suggested a colour palette and then I choose the final list of products that I loved. With the shopping list she gave me I was able to quickly get all the items. My studio looks so much better now, I enjoy it a lot more. Check the before and after photos :)

Erika has done a fantastic job in decorating our living and dining room. She has introduced a completely new concept in using space, which combines creativity and harmony. Erika was referred by a relative of mine after discussing that lately my daughter started to feel uncomfortable in her room. Erika was very patient with us and presented various styles, floor-plan arrangements and colors. Her sketches helped us to choose our favorite option. She did a thorough research of suppliers to ensure the best price & quality for the unique furniture she designed for us. She selected carefully the fabrics and other accessories and advised on where is best to buy these from, who should we hire to work with on upholstery, etc. Erika presented us with professional, detailed and accurate blueprints of the designed room, from every angle, showing us how the completed design will look like and giving a realistic feel of it. The hardest thing was to choose the color palette to work with, but with Erika's help we managed to get them right. She's a quiet, cheerful person who loves having a cup of tea :) I would heartily recommend her; she's creative, loves and enjoys her profession - which is the most important thing in my view.

I always enjoy working with clients who can dream big and when it comes to children, that's especially true. It was very challenging to narrow down the expectations into the small space available, however, it was an enjoyable journey for all of us. We took our time and allowed a couple of months until the design was finalised and delivered, to get every aspect right. I think it was worth it, as there it nothing more satisfying than seeing the face of a happy customer :) Thank you for the opportunity, it was a pleasure!

Erika helped me when we decided to fully redecorate our apartment. The budget was kept to the minimum, but we wanted to make the place our own. She had really good ideas on a budget, and with simple things she changed the whole look of my flat. She suggested on a kitchen extension, to fit a dishwasher in, as well as new furniture for the living room, to modernize it a bit. In addition the walls were repainted and she completed the look with decoration and accessories. The bedroom was relocated so it is closer to the walk in wardrobe; in exchange we now have a guest room which since turned into a nursery. Overall, we've been very happy with the results. I would recommend working with Erika as she is hands on, and has very creative ideas, even when the budget is tiny, or you're just trying to keep your expenses as low as possible. Erika is responsive, available most of the time, she's very organized and delivered the project on schedule.

My son is a young teenager, who hated his room and refused to spend time in there, except sleeping. It was all beige and orange, inherited from his older sister. The dislike got to a point, where he wrote his homework on the dining table in the kitchen, which was not convenient for either of us. After Erika designed him a brand new room, I stopped seeing him around the kitchen. He loves his own little space and finally spends most of his time in there: learning, playing, watching TV & hanging out with friends. Erika was helpful and kept my son's desire as the nr. 1 rule to follow whilst deciding the colour scheme and buying furniture. He wanted blue and green walls (I hate blue...) and a huge bed (in his small room). Erika suggested to split the levels and build an upstairs bed(room) for him. I have to say this was a huge win - he loves to chill up there, and it hides the mess around his bed. There is plenty of storage in his room plus he has his own laundry basket which help achieve a tidier look so I don't freak out every time I go in there... Erika also managed to get him a cool design lamp on his desk, made from the handlebar of a bicycle - which he loves. Although the rest of the decoration is more concentrated around basketball and karate, it all looks cool together. Now, he's proud to invite friends over and show off his room (with all of his hanging gold medals he won for karate). I would definitely recommend hiring Erika, as she can truly help you achieve what you want in your home.

This was a fairly difficult project to deliver, as mother & son disagreed on what they wanted, but I kept reminding us all that the goal is to create a cozy environment where the 12-year-old boy will be able to spend time and do his daily activities.
