I work with this company regularly, as they produce quality work, on schedule and budget. They cope with the many unusual pieces i ask of them. The owner James is creatively minded and very hands on. This cabinet was finished in gloss lacquer, and posed some tricky door assembly requirements. The client was delighted with the results.

Great Bathroom result! Knocked two small bathrooms into one large family bathroom and it made a huge difference to the house. Chris and his team worked professionally and quickly and the end result is a lovely space to be in - looks like a boutique hotel! Great customer service, nothing is too much bother for him, and he is fastidiously tidy - no mess at any stage of the job. I can't recommend him enough.

Our experience with Raison Home have been incredible! We didn't know what to expect really as we were trying them out for the first time to supply a small project, having had Charmaine Ulyate's expert assistance in previous projects. We were quite blown away at the level of attention to detail and genuine emphasis in working with their clients, and thus our client, through relationship building. A designers dream - to know their clients are in good hands, with fantastic products and a team that will deliver the level of professionalism they've come to know with you. We are already discussing our next project together and foresee a long term relationship. Thank you.

Fantastic bespoke shelving unit designed and fitted by Jamie. Lovely finishing touches and he took extra time to stain and polish so that it matched the antique bureau in the room. It's a stunning piece of craftsmanship that I can't stop looking at.

I contacted Thomas Matthew as a friend recommended them to me, I recently moved house and was limited for space, thankfully this is no longer an issue due to their clever designs. Everybody who sees my new made to measure wardrobes, wants to know where I got them from! They designed a beautiful pair with sliding doors with a high quality finish. I absolutely love my new shoe storage design that Matthew managed to incorporate into the wardrobe. Will definitely be using again & recommending to family & friends. It was an absolute pleasure doing business with you both.

We approached Eternal Kitchens with a view to wanting a new kitchen moved downstairs from its prior position. They arranged everything - electrics/plastering/moving of radiators and designed, built and installed a new kitchen. Not to mention removing the old kitchen and dealing with the residual mess! All of which was done on time and on budget. Very impressed with the high quality of their work. We love the kitchen - it is glorious.

After having a nightmare with Wr@@ kitchens and having it removed, we went to Shmidt. From the very start with Lorna designing the kitchen was a pleasure and easy process . We changed our minds a few times along the way and Lorna worked her design skills to come up with the ideal kitchen for us. The actual units are a far superior qhality than other company's we looked at, and the combinations and custom build features are numerous. when it came to the fitting, it all worked extremely well ,the delivery of all the kitchen first, and then the appliances later was a real space saver. Tim and Dave were very particular with the fitting, being some of the cleanest I have seen while working .Down time using kitchen was kept to a minimum. It was all fitted to a very high standard and you could see that they really cared about the workmanship and end finish.Tim and Dave are very polite and cheerful and carefull with all aspects of doing the job. I would strongly recommend the Schmidt team to anyone who is thinking of have a new kitchen. We are having a new bathroom next year, will be back and see Lorna and the guys to do the job. Thanks to Matt,Lorna,Tim,Dave. Great job !
Making Wood Work

Julian is a dedicated and sincere craftsman of wood and, dare I say it, a perfectionist too. I came to know Julian and his family when my wife and I moved to Somerset in 2006 and wanted to restore and develop the interior of our part of a traditional Somerset double-gabled house dating from 1802. Julian revealed to us beams of ancient elm that had been buried under plaster by subsequent unappreciative generations and then created anew items made from fallen elm to echo the traditional wood used in this area. Items include, for our bathroom, an eliptical elm surface on which a sink sits, for my study a curved desk of elm (which is a joy to sit at). Also for my study, floor to ceiling shelves, with small LED lights that emerge from the wood as if modern candles. He created a special in-built lectern to display some artworks in book-form with two pages to view. Downstairs he created our kitchen, matching stone surfaces to specially chosen wood and restoring an enormous welsh dresser, making drawers accessible with modern movement while retaining the age old beauty of the original piece. At our office in Hampton Court, in homage to the famous Japanese American wood craftsman, George Nakashima 1905-1990, he created our boardroom table. This was from a fallen elm opened longitudinally, revealing the imperfections of time, and allowing the natural curve of the outer shape of the original tree to be part of the work, running a millimeter layer of maple down the middle of the table. Here he also created unique desks of oak and elm to echo, in a totally modern way via the choice of wood, our building which dates from the early 17th century. Here he also constructed for our bespoke needs two long rows of lectern style shelves needed for our contract folders - functional and yet in keeping with our building. His works never lose sight of functionality but are works of art in themselves to be appreciated. We know at our office from the reaction of our many customers who visit us from all over the world how people react to Julian's work and it is always with awe and interest. The works we have done with Julian started in 2006 and have continued to the present.

I had a complete kitchen refit and bathroom alterations. It was a pleasure dealing with this friendly family firm and I am very pleased with the work done. The initial survey did not take into account the strength of a plasterboard wall for shelves or some extra electrical work required for an aesthetically pleasing finish. However, all work has been completed to a very high standard.

Having recently moved to the South West our first major project renovating our large Victorian property was to create and design a new kitchen in a central location in the house. We invited several firms to provide input and quote for the work. Immediately we knew David Craigie was a good listener and he took on board all our requirements in a space that had no clues as to what it would become. Upon appointment we were introduced to his brilliant young team of designers and later in the process equally excellent fitters. From start to finish it was ten weeks: we signed up and had a beautiful hand crafted kitchen working and installed. The result was extremely satisfying: the materials first class, the paint work of the highest standard and David had managed to build excellent relationships with third party suppliers (granite, sinks, taps, handles etc.) allowing a relaxed approach to making unique product selection. At all times there was an open dialogue, so very friendly and never any doubt the deadline would be met. Installation was only three days in execution and every day we now enjoy the most important room in our house in a relaxing environment with high functionality. A truly first class company.
