The project included all new bath fixtures, exhaust fan, lighting, vanity, mirrors, ceiling, walls, window, crown molding, tile shower/bath/floor and quartz vanity top. His workmanship is excellent. He is very detail oriented and has great ideas regarding do's and don'ts. He also replaced my electrical panel and pulled new circuits to the bath room. Everything is now to code! “I met with Alissa to discuss my plans for a design plan for a second kitchen in my house. I found her to be practical, honest and detail oriented. Even thought I did not end up working with her (because my project was very small and more of a do-it yourself type of plan, she explained), she gave me a lot of good ideas on how to save money and simplify my plan. I had planned to put in a lot of expensive custom made cupboards and a bar. She recommended that I use the shelving that was already in place and use a pre-fab bar rather than a custom made one. I just went to the store and found sliding glass doors to cover the shelves and a bar that folds into a table. It will save a good amount of money. I appreciated Alissa's suggestions and patience and would definitely hire her for a bigger project in the future.”

They are easy to work with, very responsive, honest, and they care about the home owners' budget, time and expectations. Construction is always a heavy task. But Sami and his team make it easier for everyone, including me as a designer. Their team keeps the progress updated and provides all the roles enough information in time for decision making. They do have the experience to deliver a quality service. And from the design point of view, Sami is experienced and can provide really good solutions and material suggestions. In a project, his fast feedback allowed us to change the operable skylights to a better size to save some money for the client. “Ed was recommended by our Realtor - we're not from the area, and were remodeling our parents' home for resale. It was a long haul for Ed, from Hayward to Walnut Creek, but he never complained. “We love our new bathroom! It turned out exactly as we had hoped and planned, and we wouldn't change a thing. All thanks go to Blues Brothers Construction, and especially to Onn. We've done several remodels and this was the most fun and satisfying. Like the other remodels, there were problems and mistakes to be dealt with along the way. The difference with this company is how they handled the issues. In every case, they listened to our concerns without defensiveness and insisted on doing it correctly without shortcuts. Several times, I indicated I would be satisfied with a less expensive workaround, but Onn assigned someone immediately to do it right or even worked the issue himself. This often resulted in something better than we had originally envisioned. The employees and independent contractors were all very pleasant to work with. The tile installer was especially skilled at his craft and went above and beyond in making sure the tile went in perfectly. In a few cases, the installers were not very familiar with the products they were installing, but they were very receptive to our suggestions or pointing out where something was going off track, so everything turned out great in the end. Onn has set up very effective processes for his company. Communication was excellent and the employees and contractors were all aware of the schedule, daily tasks and routines, and the design plan. All the employees were very engaged and seemed to like and respect their employer. Onn's plans were very detailed and made it very easy to iterate on the design and track the construction progress. The professionalism of their process was similar to much larger, more expensive firms but, instead of resulting in increased costs like the others, we think it improved their efficiency and held down costs. As they stated, They are not the cheapest or most expensive contractor, and we found that to be true. The quote was very fair but what set them apart is that the estimate didn't change at all through the design process except for some very small additions that we clearly added. And the same price and schedule held through the entire project, again except for a few small changes we requested. Onn suggested several design tweaks that all improved the final product but all were no cost items and or very minor charges where they clearly needed to order more expensive materials. This was a vastly different experience from other contractors who promised a range of cost but grossly inflated the price after detailing the design even though nothing changed. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Blues Brothers Construction for any home remodel and will gladly go to them again for our future needs.”
