Eternal Kitchens
Kitchen Designers in Huish Champflower, Somerset
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars9 November 2018
“We approached Eternal Kitchens with a view to wanting a new kitchen moved downstairs from its prior position. They arranged everything - electrics/plastering/moving of radiators and designed, built and installed a new kitchen. Not to mention removing the old kitchen and dealing with the residual mess! All of which was done on time and on budget. Very impressed with the high quality of their work. We love the kitchen - it is glorious.”

“Walrow kitchen designed and supplied our kitchen. Jackie was fantastic helping me decide on lots of different choice's available. We went for a walnut high gloss touch open kitchen and composite worktops. We are delighted with our new kitchen and would definitely recommend Walrow kitchens as nothing was too much trouble for them. They will make any cabinet in any size so you can have the perfect kitchen unlike the big chain kitchen manufacturers.”

“David and Charlotte designed us the best bespoke 50s inspired kitchen ever. We love it. Everyone who visits comments on the high standard of craftsmanship, which David provided, and the brilliant design of Charlotte. We discussed all our needs prior to the design, and found Charlotte advice very helpful on where to put everything! Charlotte designed our red and grey 50s inspired kitchen to match flooring I had found 6 months before. The colours all match beautifully, and I'm really happy I got the flooring I dried of too! This is our first house, and first design by workshop interiors, but we are already planning on using them again for everything from now on. They work as a team, very professional, to a high standard which they set themselves. What more can I say.”
Making Wood Work

“Julian is a dedicated and sincere craftsman of wood and, dare I say it, a perfectionist too. I came to know Julian and his family when my wife and I moved to Somerset in 2006 and wanted to restore and develop the interior of our part of a traditional Somerset double-gabled house dating from 1802. Julian revealed to us beams of ancient elm that had been buried under plaster by subsequent unappreciative generations and then created anew items made from fallen elm to echo the traditional wood used in this area. Items include, for our bathroom, an eliptical elm surface on which a sink sits, for my study a curved desk of elm (which is a joy to sit at). Also for my study, floor to ceiling shelves, with small LED lights that emerge from the wood as if modern candles. He created a special in-built lectern to display some artworks in book-form with two pages to view. Downstairs he created our kitchen, matching stone surfaces to specially chosen wood and restoring an enormous welsh dresser, making drawers accessible with modern movement while retaining the age old beauty of the original piece. At our office in Hampton Court, in homage to the famous Japanese American wood craftsman, George Nakashima 1905-1990, he created our boardroom table. This was from a fallen elm opened longitudinally, revealing the imperfections of time, and allowing the natural curve of the outer shape of the original tree to be part of the work, running a millimeter layer of maple down the middle of the table. Here he also created unique desks of oak and elm to echo, in a totally modern way via the choice of wood, our building which dates from the early 17th century. Here he also constructed for our bespoke needs two long rows of lectern style shelves needed for our contract folders - functional and yet in keeping with our building. His works never lose sight of functionality but are works of art in themselves to be appreciated. We know at our office from the reaction of our many customers who visit us from all over the world how people react to Julian's work and it is always with awe and interest. The works we have done with Julian started in 2006 and have continued to the present.”

“Great Bathroom result! Knocked two small bathrooms into one large family bathroom and it made a huge difference to the house. Chris and his team worked professionally and quickly and the end result is a lovely space to be in - looks like a boutique hotel! Great customer service, nothing is too much bother for him, and he is fastidiously tidy - no mess at any stage of the job. I can't recommend him enough.”

Spillers Kitchens

“If you're serious about installing a new kitchen then don't commit to anything before you've visited Spillers. It'll be worth the trip even from hundreds of miles away - prepared to be wowed! OK,so now you're wondering if I have any connection to the family business or if I've been offered a huge discount to ladle on the praise so thickly. I'm afraid you'll have to take my word for it: it's a 'No!' on both counts. The mind-boggling array of kitchen cabinetry, appliances, and accessories can be overwhelming. It would be a promise too far to claim that a visit to Chard will disperse all the fog of confusion, but it will certainly help! There's really no substitute for seeing things 'in the flesh', but the Spillers' experience is further enhanced by having everything working, so go and have a play. The visual appeal counts only for so much, of course, and risks being undermined if the folk at Spillers didn't know their products. I cannot praise Sally Johnson too highly in this regard. She spent more than two hours answering our questions carefully when we visited on 21 April, and went on to offer further advice once she'd got a feel for the sort of things we were after. The other members of the team we spoke with were similarly well informed, professional, and friendly. There was no 'hard sell' evident, so you won't feel pressured. Just one cautionary note, and that's to do with the time you visit. Try to avoid mealtimes if you can - they cook on site and it would seem many of the Spillers staff are talented chefs, too - the tantalising aromas wafting around the showroom can be a bit of a distraction!”
