Quite simply the worst company I have ever dealt with in every conceivable way.
Cloisters will insist on full payment upfront, split over 3 payments. I wanted to hold 10% ( or something similar ) back until the kitchen was fully finished but Cloisters refused this. They point to the fact that they are a member of the 'deposit protection scheme' but this only of use if the company ceases trading before they start work with you. In the end, we did our due diligence, couldn’t find anything of concern and did pay the deposit ( mercifully on the credit card ). Things started to go awry not long after that.
There were periods where Cloisters would disappear for weeks at a time with no replies to emails and phone calls were not returned. Eventually Cloisters would burst back into life and we would have a Teams call or in person meeting and review outstanding items.
Eventually the fitting for the kitchen was booked and started on the week of July 24th. To say the fitting was slow would be an understatement and 4 months later is still not finished. The fitting took place for about 2 weeks and then work stopped. We then had a period of no activity waiting for the worksurfaces to be fitted and then more inactivity waiting for the fitter to return to finish the cabinetry work. Delivery of the cabinetry would come in bits and pieces and often missing items or items that were delivered were incorrect. Glass shelves would arrive for a cabinet that we didn’t want glass shelves in. Wooden shelves were fitted for a cupboard we didn’t want shelves in. Glass cabinet doors still have not been delivered after 4 months and some missing hinges that were finally delivered were incorrect and, in the end, I went to ScrewFix and bought the correct ones.
An insinkerator unit that Cloisters ordered to fit in the cupboard they designed, never arrived – and I doubt was ever ordered - and even if it had arrived wouldn’t have fit in the space it was intended to fit in. I had to buy a new one and despite agreeing to refund me the money, Cloisters took over 2 months to finally refund me.
There has been a problem with every constituent part of the kitchen – the worksurfaces have had to be deeper than originally planned because of some incorrect measurements Cloisters took and because of this, some ‘hidden’ doors we had fitted are smaller than we wanted. We still don’t have the glass doors we ordered, some drawers have been fitted incorrectly so they scrape the drawers below them and it took about 4 months for a wine cooler to be delivered that I could have ordered off amazon and had delivered the next day.
This company is a complete shambles. They will not finish your kitchen; they will not deliver the items you have paid for and they will not return your phone calls or emails. Avoid like the plague.

I can only reiterate recent comments about the appalling delays and lack of communication by Cloisters, almost from the moment we paid all monies owed up front. In fact, we are still awaiting replacement items relating to the sink despite the project commencing in February! To be fair, we are more than satisfied with the craftsmanship and professionalism of the team that fitted the kitchen. Sadly, I cannot recommend this company and regret not reading on-line reviews before. Avoid.

Awful Experience, please do yourself a favour and DO NOT use these people. Weeks of delays, incorrect deliveries, months of poor communication. Kitchen still not complete over a year on.
They swore at us, called us liars, and still owe us money.
Save yourself the hassle and pain, go somewhere else.

We love our kitchen, it's definitely become the heart and pride of our home and everyone that sees it is left amazed. We engaged Cloisters early in the design process of our new extension and were immediately drawn to Joe's keen attention to details and firm understanding of our vision. He gave us great advice that we were able to incorporate in to the build.
During the build the sincerity and determination to maintain high standards in all areas was clearly visible and in some moments frustrating... Though understandable.
We worked on our kitchen just after covid / Brexit and while things took longer than we'd hoped in coming together and the bespoke kitchen journey inevitably requires patience, we absolutely love the end result. Highly recommended Cloisters if you are in the market for a handmade bespoke kitchen built with care and without compromise of quality.

We had a new kitchen fitted in 2013 that was designed and supplied by Cloisters. Value and service levels were excellent at that time and we have had no cause in the last 9 years to talk to them again as there have been no problems at all with any elements of the kitchen. This year we reorganised our space next to the kitchen and approached Cloisters to see if some of the existing units could be extended to fit the new space. This was a relatively small job but the engagement and support we received was everything you could wish for as an old customer, even though so much time had passed. We now have a perfectly extended space, looking as though it was always this way. This is not only great credit to Cloisters as an extra job but it underlines how good the original job was in that it still looks as new as it did in 2013. We would (and obviously just have) use Cloisters again without any reservations.

We are so pleased with our new kitchen and utility room from Cloisters!
Having visited a fair amount of other ‘big band’ retailers none of them were able to come up with the design we quite wanted. The furniture range we went for was bespoke so Joe was able to design the space exactly how we wanted it.
We went for a modern flat design and was surprised that we were able to do what we wanted well within budget – we were nervous at first that going for something bespoke was going to be too expensive. They also supplied us with worktops and appliances.
We used our builder to install the kitchen as we are too far away from where Cloisters are based but Joe was always on hand to help with any fitting questions.
Thank you very much to Joe and his team.

We are so so pleased with our kitchen from Cloisters.
Joe Nunn's design really stood out from the other kitchen companies we had visited previously. He listened to what we wanted (including our budget) but also brought his own ideas and experience in. A lot of thought had gone into the design and Joe was happy to spend time with us trying out a few different ideas until it was perfect. This was the first time we had felt really excited about a design and after seeing it there was no question of us going with anything else.
After that Joe spent a lot of time with us over a number of visits to their two showrooms to help us sort out the final details. The showrooms were very useful for inspiration and Joe was great at navigating us through the many different options for finishes, interiors, appliances etc.
The great thing about their kitchens is that they are bespoke so Joe was able to adapt it exactly to our room size and it feels like there are no compromises or wasted spaces. For example when we found out our coffee machine would be too big to fit into the hide-and-slide cupboard as we had planned, Joe was able to tweak the cupboard dimensions to give us the extra space.
The finished kitchen is every bit as good as we had hoped. It looks amazing and works so well - Joe's attention to detail has really paid off and we feel like we have ended up with something really special.
Thank you Joe and the Cloisters team.

Our Architect recommended Cloisters Design to us and we are so glad they did. We found them friendly and professional.
Joe Nunn helped us with the design of our kitchen with lots of ideas and useful tips to get the best out of the space we have.
We decided to go for a bespoke kitchen as it did not work out any more expensive than an “off the shelf” one. This was fantastic as it meant we could choose exactly what we wanted in terms of design and colour for the units.
We are so happy with the finished product, the quality and design. It has made a such a difference to the way we use the space.

Joe was very efficient from our first contact and always easy to get hold of. Joe’s drawings gave a clear picture of how everything would look and how best to use the space. I had a set idea of what I wanted for the kitchen but I have actually ended up with something completely different having seen what Cloisters had to offer. We have fitted everything in that we needed without compromising on the look. Joe was able to show me lots of ideas that I hadn’t thought of well within our budget. The pricing info was clear and there were no hidden costs. We have ended up with a lovely bright airy kitchen. A really lovely family company to work with.

I am very pleased with my new kitchen, supplied and fitted by Cloisters. We received helpful advice on the design and appliances. The units were handmade, to give us the best configuration for the space, in their newest design. We now have a light, airy, modern kitchen that’s a pleasure to spend time in.

We first visited cloisters back in 2020 , as we had recently purchased a new property that was being completely renovated , we initially had a kitchen in mind and the design we wanted as we was in (Covid time rules) we had to have a few zoom calls where joe was able to discuss and show us his revised design and ideas which we was very pleased with and how down to detail he had done with some things I would of missed myself . Then we was invited to visit 2 of there show rooms which also had all of the paint colours, fabrics , and a range of beautiful bespoke kitchens that was all finished to a very high quality . We then knew cloisters was the company we wanted to go ahead with . From then on we also decided we wanted cloisters to do our whole house including the Utility room , the lounge book shelf’s , fireplace , shoeracks, all bedroom furniture including bedside tables. Joe worked very closely with us as a family the whole way through and any questions or changes he always made sure we was happy he also would come and visit the project often to see the progress. The furniture fitter James was also so amazing at his work and all his finishing touches, he would be in our home every morning and always made us fill comfortable to be around pleasure to work with . Then towards the end of the project we had every thing hand painted again brilliant work done by the painter and also a lovely man who was lovely to be around . I think it means a lot when you have people working in your family home especially as we had a new born baby so I was home most days and never felt uncomfortable. Overall I would 100% recommend cloisters designs if you are looking for beautiful high end bespoke furniture . Thank you personally to Joe for being wonderful to work with for the last year we are so happy with our finished result

If you are thinking of installing a new kitchen then this involves a significant amount of thought. Our old kitchen was in dire need of replacement being 25 years old. The only item in the kitchen that I really wanted, and knew would potentially cause a problem, was a pantry cupboard, designed originally by my Dad. He had had one built into his kitchen in New Zealand and it works fabulously. I wanted one. However, this proved to be an impossible request everywhere I searched. I travelled down the DIY Kitchen route and made a visit up north to see their showroom, spent time at IKEA, Wren, private kitchen/bathroom designer, Wickes and Magnet. I was getting to the stage of thinking I would have to forgo my pantry cupboard. But then I heard of Cloisters and went to see Colin and Danielle. No problem came the reply. A pantry cupboard you shall have. What was not to love?! So, several visits later to chat with Danielle and I had a fantastic kitchen design complete with pantry cupboard. This cupboard opens at bench level with double bifold doors revealing a countertop (same as the rest of my countertops) on which sits my Kenwood mixer, food processor, sandwich maker and the Soda Stream. At a suitable height above these appliances the shelves begin and reach to the top of the cupboard. The storage is amazing. All the ingredients at your fingertips. Canned and dry goods stored higher up. It works so beautifully and I love it. Every kitchen should have one. Huge thanks to Cloisters who were the only people prepared to make this cupboard for me.
The installation was done completely to my satisfaction and the whole space now looks amazing. They were quite prepared to accommodate any alterations. Yes, I decided my drawer bins were just not big enough and so a bigger version was duly ordered and installed and the island counter adjusted accordingly. We were very lucky to get the installation completed just before lockdown. I love the huge storage cupboard with pull out shelves/baskets, the drawers under the main countertop and in the island are so wonderful. The corner unit has two doors which open independently to access all of the available space in those tricky corners.
So, I would highly recommend Cloisters to my friends and indeed have done so. Their pricing is very competitive with all the major kitchen providers. I am just in the process of ordering another storage cabinet on wheels to match the kitchen furniture. Thank you Cloisters.
