Harrison and Pope

We are really enjoying our new kitchen made and fitted by Harrison & Pope. It looks great; we have lots of space and very importantly lots of storage. It has all worked out better than we thought. The whole process was straightforward and they were very helpful and constructive. A great job all round.

We needed a kitchen for our brand new barn conversion, to be used initially as a holiday let, but potentially would be lived in by family into the future. We therefore wanted something that would stand the test of time, but would be easy to keep clean and not become outdated. From the first time I met Phil at the H&P showroom in Hay, his attention to detail, practical suggestions, and creative input were spot on. It wasn't easy designing a kitchen for a space that was still at the construction stage but everything worked seamlessly. The quality of workmanship, the fitting team, and the back up support from the office team have all been outstanding. The kitchen is everything we had hoped for and more: classic design, custom made, and with a contemporary feel. I particularly found it helpful that Phil was able to offer advice on getting the best types of kitchen appliances for a holiday let, and source them for us.

We had always admired the Harrison and Pope kitchen studio in Hay on Wye, so when we took on the restoration of a country house there was only one place that we wanted to design and make the kitchen. Lou and Phil have a vast amount of knowledge and design experience. The meetings were held at their larger showroom in Herefordshire. The whole process was very efficient from start to finish. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The final result was that the kitchen is everything we dreamed it would be, with outstanding craftsmanship and impeccable design. The kitchen fitters were also fantastic. They take a real pride in their work. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Harrison and Pope, in fact we are now working on another kitchen with them for another part of the house.

We are absolutely delighted with our Harrison & Pope kitchen which is highly functional and also provides a great combination of traditional and contemporary design. It has transformed the original dark space into a lovely indoor outdoor area. We were impressed by the quality of the cabinetry and exemplary workmanship. Kitchens are one of those important life choices we live with for a long time so "value" takes on a different meaning; its all about the good feeling you get over the years rather than the initial cost. H &P stepped up to the challenge and designed and built us an exquisite central hub to our home. Their kitchen is a thing of beauty, and the pleasure it gives us is worth far more than the outlay. If that were not enough, they are also courteous, reliable, listen to what you say (a rare attribute) and pay attention to the detail. Highly recommended.

We cannot recommend Harrison and Pope more highly. We chose the company obviously as they are so close, but from Phil's initial visit to the building of the kitchen, we felt they understood exactly what we needed and made some excellent suggestions, which we are so glad we accepted. The final result is understated and just such a joy to use. It is greatly admired and I would also add that another company could well have charged double for a similar kitchen. The quality of the workmanship is superb and will doubtless last many years.

We are delighted with our Harrison and Pope kitchen; it has transformed our house. We were lucky to have a large underused room to convert from scratch and needed Phil’s design skills to make the most of our new found space. We started the design in the shop in Hay on Wye and then he visited us to look at the room and revise in light of our discussions. We had a computerised mock up to look at and think about, which was so helpful. The finished result is even better than we expected; we were unsure about using so many drawers rather than cupboards, but this works so well – we can actually find things and easily use them. The installation team are lovely, obviously skilled and from our point of view very low maintenance – they quietly got on with the job, consulting us only when necessary. We would (and indeed have) completely recommend Harrison and Pope, we are so happy with the result!

Spot on! We've been using the kitchen now for six weeks and its been really perfect for our needs. This has been the fourth kitchen we've put in and probably the most challenging in terms of design. The layout of a house or room normally lends itself to how the kitchen is set out, without much room for options. This time around, after knocking out a wall, we not only had to design a kitchen but also to think of how the rest of the enlarged space could be brought together as one. Phil was superb in offering expertise, advice and loads of patience as we hesitated back and forth over layout and worktop finishes. Communication with Phil was always tops and we were never rushed in making up our minds. The final design met our three criteria: locally made, excellent finishes while remaining under-stated, and to fit in well with a tatty 'must have' rattan sofa. We actually self-installed the units, and all fitted together perfectly whilst always being backed-up by Phil and his team. A good experience overall in kitchen design and fit-out with a truly delightful result! And a big thank you to Harrison & Pope.
