Malcolm and the team recently finished a new kitchen project for us and it is stunning! A very tricky job with no walls true but brilliantly designed by Malcolm to take into effect and make excellent use of all the nooks and crannies that come with converted cottages. The attention to detail in the design, and in the building and finishing of the kitchen by Scott and team has been extraordinary. Specialists that they use for worktops and tiling have all been excellent as tried and trusted partners over the years. We have also used them in the past for other kitchen and bedroom projects so we didn't hesitate to pick the phone up and call them again.

I have used Instone Design for over 15 years on a number of projects ; ranging from redesign of my kitchen , tailor made home office to refurbishing different rooms and interior design. They have always been outstanding in all their work . Everything has been completed on time , on budget and with the minimum of fuss. The process they use before they start a project is particularly inclusive . They strive to understand the reason why you want it done and how it will function with your family day to day life . They have a diverse range of crafts people in their employ who always come up with innovative solutions and never let you down.

Instone designs built my kitchen and I am delighted with it! I took in a well know kitchen companies brochure into Instone and picked out all of the pictures I liked. I did have a quote from this company, but despite the cost, they could not build me the bespoke kitchen I needed that would fit into the exact space I had available. Whereas Instone can build any size cabinet, to any specification in their own workshop. The design could match all the aspects I liked and was far cheaper than I expected. They offered me different wood /mdf options to manage the cost. I have been involved in a few projects and would absolutely go back to Instone if we ever do anything again. They also made bespoke cabinetry for me in bathrooms and a bedroom. I sketched out what I wanted - and they managed to interpret them and turn into actual wood -I am delighted with the result!

Malcolm and his team at Instone have designed, made and fitted a significant number of items in our 5 bedroom home in Buckinghamshire over the last 4 years, since we moved in. The work has included - fairly standard one-off pieces (eg. a chest of drawers) - custom one-off pieces (eg. an unusual shape of coffee table in a style and materials to match some other tables bought in a shop) - fairly standard shelving and cupboards (eg. book shelving and storage in children's rooms) - very customised large installations in difficult circumstances (for example, utility room units to house storage, sink, large cupboard and two non-standard commercial washer and dryer machines, fitted wardrobe and storage in an attic bedroom with sloping ceilings and odd shape) Malcolm's design skill is excellent, and covers a broad range of fittings and materials - not just 'woodwork' but design and integration of marble, chrome, wood and other surfaces in kitchens and bathrooms as well as more conventional "furniture". The quality of craftsmanship is very high, and Malcolm's team who come on site are always polite, reliable, professional and leave our home immaculate after their work. What's most remarkable is that the pricing for Instone is affordable - given it's handmade, individually designed work. Of course, if you want to spend £50 on a chest of drawers you go to IKEA, or if you want to spend £10000 you go to somewhere in central London. But if you want a quality piece of furniture, say "John Lewis" level and above in terms of cost, I always go to Malcolm because I can get handmade to my exact specification for "John Lewis" prices. When it comes to custom fit and design (not just 'modular' pieces that can be arranged, but 100% custom "any size/shape/configuration/integration with existing") I think Malcolm is unbeatable. We moved to a large new home we had to furnish from scratch, and in the 4 years since we discovered Malcolm, apart from some cheap bits and pieces, I have not bought any furniture or had any internal furnishing work from anyone else.
