Jim and Susan (J&S) proved to be a great team for us. Patient, friendly, communicative offering boundless words of wisdom based on extensive experience, they supported us admirably through the entire process from early design ideas right through to fitting and “after sales” support. We are so glad we entrusted them to design our new kitchen. We are not sure we could have found anybody better. Their design, layout, colour co-ordinated recommendations and creative ideas to overcome building structural obstacles combined with the product offering - a superb German quality-engineered kitchen (expertly fitted) - has resulted in a stunning new “living” kitchen for us which is simply amazing. We approached a number of different kitchen designers and fitters to undertake a significant project to completely renovate the kitchen including removing a wall to allow for an extension (done by other builders). We are really pleased we chose J&S as the project went as smoothly as it could given it was done alongside building an extension and during a pandemic! The things that made us choose J&S were: - They have a significant amount of experience in designing and fitting high quality kitchen projects - They would project manage the whole operation, including liaising and fitting in timings with the extension builders - They struck a really good balance of offering advice where we needed it alongside being flexible to incorporate anything that was important to us, it was a completely bespoke design. In the end, J&S worked well alongside our extension builders and also had contacts to make sure all aspects of the renovation were covered, such as electrics, building and decoration. They found and project managed these tradesmen, so all we had to deal with was J&S. The project did actually run to the timescales that were planned, even with all the COVID disruption and building an extension at the same time. They were also sympathetic to and organised work such that we didn't have to move out during all the works. Once the kitchen was installed, they have followed up several times to check everything is working as it should, and fixed any minor teething issues that arise as the new kitchen started to be used. It's clear that Jim and Sue love doing what they do and were a pleasure to work with from start to finish.

J&S House of Design did our bathroom for us. It required complete remodelling to make better use of the space, and J&S and presented us with a design that we would never have thought of ourselves.The remodelling job was handled well by J&S, and we never had to chase suppliers or get involved in anything beyond design decisions. Their plumber, electrician and various other workmen all did a very professional job, and kept the house clean during the process. J&S dealt well with problems that emerged on the job, including having to re-plasterboard the entire room due to previous unknown water damage, and replacing the toilet when it turned out the wrong size had been ordered. They stayed in touch after the work was completed, and returned to make tweaks and adjustments where necessary.

Jim and Susan helped us get the kitchen right and their advice helped us make good decisions. They also were able to introduce extra tweaks we wanted such as a wine fridge under the island which were non standard. The kitchen manufacturer sent a few wrong bits which have to be reordered but overall it looks like the kitchen will suit us nicely.

We live in an 80yr old MOD house which needs full renovation. We started by taking out a wall between the kitchen and dining room. We sought three designs and quotes. Sue came to our house to discuss exactly what we wanted and came up with by far the best deign, which was competitively priced. She oversaw the installation and managed the small problems which arose. They worked well with our builders and met the deadlines The quality of the furniture is excellent and the function of the whole room is brilliant, and the best kitchen that we have ever had - for entertaining (self-catered party for 50+) and especially for day to day cooking. We have asked them to design two new bathrooms for us in very tricky spaces

I recently asked J & S House of Design to work with us on kitchen, utility and bathrooms concepts for a Grade II* listed property we were refurbishing for one of our clients. Susan and Jim were happy to work to our design brief and made any design edits swiftly and efficiently. The finished result was a kitchen that sat perfectly in the traditional style of the house and incorporated all the necessary elements and more. The bathrooms were both streamlined and, ticked all the boxes for functionality. Despite a challenging build program the project came in on time and on budget. I found J & S House of Design to be both professional and excellent at communication, making them great to work with.

We were delighted with the kitchen that was designed and installed in our new extension. I would certainly engage Jim and Sue again should we carry out a similar project.
