Our initial visit to Kitchen Culture had us very impressed.
The smart showroom, friendly and professional attitude of the salesmen
was very encouraging. After a home visit and much discussion our
kitchen was decided upon. We looked forward to it with great
excitement, however, the finished article was to say the least – disappointing.
Branded Items that had been invoiced were exchanged without prior consultation
When bad fitting was politely pointed out I am afraid it was taken as criticism and that led
to a breakdown in our relationship, and not attempt to remedy. The management took no further interest. Customer satisfaction is not obviously high on their agenda.
The unit carcases are of low quality with ugly locking cams exposed. The shelves are only finished
on the front edges. Gaps were left between the walls and the units but this was considered
normal?? The promised remedies never materialised and sad to say the final
invoice was sent with a demand to pay within 2 days and with no pleasantries, or thank you for our
custom. nor was there any acknowledgement of the final payment. We have had a total of 8
fitted kitchens in the past 45 years,
this was the worst. I cannot recommend this company

Comment from Kitchen Culture Cambridgeshire:
This is a shame to read. We always take feedback seriously but I think its important to hear the other side of the story. This may help customers when selecting their kitchen either with us or other suppliers.
Firstly, this kitchen is probably the most compact kitchen we have ever completed. We took the job on as it was a recommendation from a past customer, and in our local area. The customers came to the showroom, saw a kitchen they liked on display, had the room designed following a survey and a second visit to the showroom.
The job was given our full attention - we had our usual team of kitchen fitters, plumbers, electricians, plasterer and tiler. The customer had a budget but the work was completed to a high standard, using the items that the customer had seen and liked in the showroom. The kitchen was completed in 10 days - removing the old, running new electrics and plumbing, plastering and the refitting the new kitchen and solid surface worktops. The tiling followed.
At the end of the installation we were made aware of some small snagging items. We visited the job and one point was valid, so it was rectified quickly without any additional charge (as it should be).
Some of the issues flagged were harder to resolve. Ultimately the customer purchased a kitchen that has a cam and dowel cabinet and as such if you put your head under the cabinet you can see cams (as we have in the showroom). We offered to cover these with stickers but that has been declined.
The wall units had fillers to the sides. As is common practice, they were filled at the front with a gap behind. You can't put fillers in to the back without having visible screws. Again, if you put your head under the cabinets you can see a small gap. This is completely normal but sadly that was also not to the customer satisfaction.
The shelves on our lower priced brand of kitchen are only edged on the front. Again this is not a visible element once the shelves are in place as you don't see the back or sides.
Ultimately we as a business will always try to rectify any snagging on a kitchen installation. We set our own standards high and complete our own checks at the end of a job. The issues here were beyond snagging and unfortunately either not possible or unrealistic.
Unlike many other kitchen suppliers / installers we phase our payments so the customer pays a significant balance on completion. The customer received our balance invoice post our snagging visit by our installation manager. At that point the customer had been advised of what could and couldn't be done and we understood they had accepted these points. They also had personal direct communication from myself as the business owner.
As a final point, this is a fantastic kitchen (and one of our most popular) that offers great value for money solution. It is fitted with care and passion by a small, independent retailer. The manufacturer have made kitchens for 85 years and are highly regarded for the quality of product which is why they continue to be successful. I have attached two photos of the kitchen that we had taken prior to tiling for reference so hopefully people can make their own judgement.

I could not figure out how I wanted our kitchen designed, and the second I saw the design Simon drew up I knew it would be perfect! Excellent communication, always on time and there the dates given. The team who fitted the kitchen (plumbers, fitters and electricians) were really friendly and welcoming and did a superb job. I absolutely love our new kitchen and couldn’t fault anything about it. Would recommend you guys to anyone Katy and Tom

Kitchen Culture fitted my new kitchen in November 2019. The house was undergoing a large refurbishment and I had to re-schedule them several times as the area to be the kitchen remained a building site far longer than anticipated. They were most accommodating despite a tight timetable of their own and the project was completed in the time allocated and within budget.
The kitchen is well made and fitted and Simon was very good at recognising the plan I had in mind, showing different possibilities and products both in the showroom and online.
I will be happy to provide photos but cannot do so at the moment as a garden room off the new kitchen, has not yet been completed due to lockdown.

We’re really pleased we used the Kitchen Culture team to fit our kitchen. Right from the beginning Simon was very professional and designed a much better kitchen for the space than any other company we visited. When it was our turn for installation, everything was well organised and ran like clockwork. Everyone turned up when they were meant to and the project was actually finished a day early. I’d seen horror kitchens where they’re left unfinished for months but Simon left me confident this wouldn’t happen to us and we were right, it didn’t. We’re both super happy with the finished result even 16 months later. It’s my favourite room in the house.

We appointed Kitchen Culture to replace our kitchen. Simon was very helpful in supporting us to design the new kitchen, explaining the options but allowing us to decide without any hard sell. He kept us informed in the lead up to and throughout the installation, which was done by a competent team of professional tradesmen. A couple of minor issues that we had after the main installation had been done were dealt with efficiently - this company are clearly committed to doing a good quality job.

Having known Simon & Kitchen Culture for over a year now, I have worked with him on a few relevant projects that involve our own business GSN Conservatories (GSN). We are very impressed with his professional approach, knowledge, project management and the way he guides his customers through the process from conception to hand-over smoothing the journey along the way. His knowledge in the industry is second to none and he is someone who listens to his customers and works with what they are aiming to achieve. It is a pleasure.

We were extremely happy with Kitchen Culture. From the initial design through to installation they did a wonderful job. Simon listened to our priorities and needs and we were very happy with his design. The project was completed on schedule and the kitchen fitters did a great job.

Truly an amazing company to work alongside. Their flare for design and obvious passion for the industry is clear to see in the projects they are working on.
It’s great to see such quality furniture being installed without over the top pricing. Better yet is to see British manufactured furniture beating the likes of German kitchens on both quality and price.
Very highly recommend to anyone in the market for a new kitchen or home renovation project.

We have worked alongside this company to create an open plan kitchen and living area in St Neots. The Kitchen Culture team we’re very professional, clean and tidy, and the quality of the furniture installed was far superior to what I have seen installed in similar projects. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a new kitchen, you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent service throughout. We did our research and compared several other suppliers and their products beforehand, but I am so pleased we went with 'Kitchen Culture'. Simon listened to what we thought we wanted, and made some very helpful observations and suggestions at the design stage which we accepted, and which greatly enhanced the finished product. All the plumbers, electricians and fitters were very professional and did an excellent job. We now have a tailor-made, lovely-looking, high-quality kitchen that has made optimum use of the space available, and which should last for many years.

We recently had our kitchen totally refitted by Simon and his team. Our room had initially been an awkward shape, due to two chimney stacks, in the middle of the room. We had a quote and drawings done by Simon, which we were very happy with. In the mean time we'd received strucutural engineer drawings for removing both chimneys breasts, so opening up the entire room. This meant we had to scrap the original design and start again. Undeterred, Simon redid the entire room design, but I could 'not' make up my mind over the sink, or work tops. His patience is truly impressive, and he helped with lots of advice on how to solve the issues I was facing with these two areas.
The chimney breasts finally got removed, but we had to move the date for kitchen installation back, as it had over run with umpteen problems. After a very stressful demolition and unbelievable mess, the kitchen culture team arrived for fitting. Simon has surrounded himself with a super talented team of plumbers, electricians, plasterers and fitters. They were all very professional, skilled in their trade, and super proud of their work. They all worked incredibly hard, and they were really nice lads to have around the place. As each job was finished, they all cleaned up themselves. It was a pleasure to watch the transformation day by day, and to see truly gifted craftsmen at work. It was all finished on budget, on time, and we honestly couldn't be happier with the end result.
We'd had quotes from other companies beforehand, and non of them offered the same comprehensive package, which included the plumbing, plastering, a full re wire, and fitting, Simons quote was also lower, which we really weren't expecting from an independent company. There were no hidden extras, or nasty surprises, we got exactly what we were quoted for and paid for. its also reassuring to know that if we had encountered any problems, that we weren't going to be abandoned after, they're a local firm who look after their customers, and deserve supporting.
