Our Love Wood Furniture bespoke kitchen hand built by Clive is wonderful and everything and more than we hoped it would be. Clive was recommended to us by a friend who suggested we ask him to pop over to explore some ideas we had around design and see what he would suggest and get an indication of the cost. We have an awkward shaped kitchen and so decided quite early that we would probably need a bespoke kitchen and so someone who could work with us to ensure we got the best possible design to maximize the available space and functionality balanced against quality and price, my wife and I both agreed having met Clive that he was the right person for us. Clive was great to work with quickly understanding what we were trying to achieve and input some great suggestions and innovative features into the bespoke design that kept within our budget. Throughout the project Clive worked with us to co-ordinate the plumbing, electrics and minor building works using a combination of his and our own tradesmen and discussing and tweaking the design to ensure it met our requirements. The quality of Clive’s work and attention to detail is superb and clear to see. not only in our kitchen but also, some of other customers kitchens, bedroom and furniture projects we visited that he had designed and built. We are happy to recommend Clive to anyone who is looking for an excellent good quality handcrafted kitchen at an affordable price. We would heartily recommend Love Wood Kitchens to anyone looking for their perfect kitchen. We are renovating our entire house and finding someone as professional, creative , capable and reliable as Clive is an absolute godsend. Clive is a perfectionist and it shows in all the work he does. The kitchen he has designed for us is exquisite and I can’t quite get used to the beautiful space he has created for us. If only all builders were the same! In terms of investment I was pleasantly surprised at the cost as I had imagined a bespoke kitchen to be out of our price range. I’m glad we investigated further as the end result was very much worth it. A big thanks to Gina who had to endure hours of me talking colour schemes and fabrics and for being a fabulous project manager. All in all we are delighted with our kitchen and think you would be too.

When we fell in love with our small cottage on the edge of Greno Woods, we knew that our biggest problem in adapting to downsized living would be the extremely tiny kitchen with no chance to extend. A fair amount of Internet research led us to Love Wood Kitchens, where the pictures suggested that Clive would appreciate an old Victorian cottage and also a challenge. We emailed him some photos and had an almost instant positive reply. Next was a trip to Penistone to see Clive at work and there we fell in love with sand blasted oak and, of course, the things Clive could do with it. Rough plans were drawn up from our measurements and photos and, as soon as the cottage was ours, Clive arrived with his tape measure and managed to improve on the original plan with deeper, taller cupboards and a beautifully designed small breakfast bar. While on holiday near Keswick, we had met Martin Nicholson who makes, among other things, slate worktops in his Saddleback Slate workshop at Threlkeld – Clive was happy to work with him and so the whole process started. Throughout all this, we were kept up to date and entertained by Gina, Clive’s wife, exchanging horror stories of house buying and selling and managing without basic facilities. Clive and Gina make a great team and, most importantly, are extremely approachable. So now we have our dream kitchen. The oak cupboards are beautiful – perfect for the small space and extremely well crafted to suit our needs. The icing on the cake (thanks for the pun Gina!) was watching Clive and Martin fit the slate worktop and seeing the kitchen come to life. If you are considering a hand built kitchen that will be the envy of all your friends, at an affordable price and created by a real craftsman, we would recommend Clive without any hesitation.

Clive of Lovewood Furniture was recommended to me by an Interior Designer whose judgement I trust. I have not been disappointed. Clive is a true craftsman whose workmanship is second to none. He is meticulous as regards detail and has a philosophy that ‘there is no such thing as a problem, just a situation waiting to be solved’ Just as well as we ran into one ‘situation’ after another with my kitchen! He remained patient throughout whether it was dealing with an oddly shaped corner, an uneven alcove or a problem with delivery. A chimney breast was removed by his builder colleague with very little fuss or mess. In the meantime a traditional classic kitchen was hand made for me in keeping with the age and character of my home. Many hours were spent in the preparation of this with ideas going to and fro. Clive brought numerous samples of different materials for work surfaces etc for me to pore over. I was not the easiest of customers as I knew exactly what I wanted and would not settle for anything less. Fortunately Clive also being a perfectionist was able to accomplish this for me. It was a pleasure to have him and his co workers in the home as they were delightful people who did their best to minimise disruption and fit in with my timescale of having everything ready for Christmas. They worked to this end, only finishing at lunch time on Christmas eve! In the background Clive’s wife Gina was always available for contact, for ideas and to negotiate with the different professionals involved. It was by chance, and our good fortune, that we ventured into Clive's workshop and attempted to explain to him our kitchen corner unit problem. Clive listened patiently as we attempted to describe our wood kitchen, its drawbacks and how we particularly wanted to resolve the problem of a wasted space corner. Subsequently, Clive visited our house, returned to double-check measurements, and then came to install some new units including one which housed a 'magic corner'. What we have discovered about Clive is that he is a perfectionist who sets himself high standards and is always keen to please his customers. His new units match perfectly existing ones and his 'magic corner', which enables us to utilise space we previously couldn't use, is a revelation reflecting his considerable creative talents. Clive's sense of humour and reliability were also much appreciated. Gina, too, has been invaluable to us keeping us well-informed and also providing useful ideas about colour schemes for repainting the kitchen. Love Wood Kitchens are a very professional business but unusual in their genuine interest and care in providing the highest quality and ensuring that their work enhances your kitchen and home.
