Designing Your Beautiful Custom Gardens in a Day!

Nigel Philips is a garden design company based in East Sussex with over thirty years of designing our clients the perfect bespoke garden. We specialise in smaller, residential gardens with three easy pricing options that will suit all budgets. We offer a personalised service where we will visit your site, walk through your ideas and collaboratively design the garden together! Once we're happy with the concept, I will draw up the designs then and there! You'll have your new garden plans completed by the end of the day. Visit our website and book an appointment online! We offer three easy design options for clients that are time and budget friendly to choose from: DESIGN OPTION ONE PROCESS I will survey the garden. (one unit). If you’d prefer, you can measure up the garden yourself and save a unit of cost. Once we have made a note of your main priorities we’ll design the garden together (one unit) and I’ll draw it up (one unit) ready for you to use by the end of the day. SIZE UP TO 400 SQUARE METRES - WITH SURVEY COST 3 units - £450.00 (inc survey) DESIGN OPTION TWO PROCESS On completion of design option one the design can be enhanced with some planting suggestions listing some structural shrubs around which your choice of other plants can be made. This option will also extend to some detailing on the construction methods required to build your garden features - (one unit) SIZE UP TO 400 SQUARE METRES - WITH LANDSCAPE DETAILS COST 4 units - £600.00 (inc detailing & survey) DESIGN OPTION THREE PROCESS This design option is for part of a larger garden where a full topographical survey is required before I come to visit. This is priced in separately to the design work. The design process is then the same as the other options (4 units) and can include planting and building details (5 units). SIZE UP TO 1200 SQUARE METRES - WITH LANDSCAPE DETAILS COST 5 units - £750.00 (inc detailing)

We recently moved into our house and immediately opted to extend the kitchen at the back, thus disrupting the overall layout of our back garden. Once the work was competed, we invited Nigel to come and redesign the garden. Nigel listened carefully to us and worked with us to create a design to suit our requirements. He sketched out two choices of design initially which helped us to established our preferred style. What we particularly liked was the way in which he incorporated an existing patio, well established trees and wisteria into the design, which will make the final garden immediately look more mature. We opted to also discuss planting with him and he was helpful in placing plants that I wanted to include as well as identifying a number of other plants that would work well with the aspect of our garden and preferred colour palette. We're delighted with our finished design!

Nigel did a great job of taking our ideas and philosophy and turning that into a garden plan. He is knowledgable about habitat and ponds which really helps to create the type of garden environment we are seeking for insects, frogs, etc. He built on the ideas that I had and added new concepts that I had not considered which is quite beneficial. We have yet to work with the actual landscaper to see how well they turn the plan into an actual garden.

When Nigel arrived for my “One day garden design “ I was intrigued and slightly concerned how the day would go. I needn’t have worried Nigel put me at ease straight away . He asked me what I wanted to achieve and I mentioned that at one point I had hoped to have a sunken sitting area but realised it wasn’t possible.
