Anita Jane Designs

I happened upon Anita’s website purely by chance when I was searching for garden designers and I am so glad I did! We discussed ideas – a combination of what was in my head and suggestions from Anita. Anita offers practical, common sense advice with imaginative ideas. She explained why some of my ideas wouldn’t work/be suitable and offered alternative suggestions. The final result was even better in real life and more than I could have imagined. I’m so happy I chose Anita to design my garden and would highly recommend her

We decided to use Anita’s garden design services when we wanted to totally re-design the layout of our back garden but had no idea where to start. We are so pleased that we did. Anita made the whole process incredibly easy and we know we would not have got the same result without her creativity, plant knowledge, landscape design experience and the brilliant contractor she recommended with whom she regularly collaborates. She provided drawings and plant schedules (including how to care for each particular plant) and co-ordinated everything with the landscape contractor to bring her wonderful design into being. We are absolutely delighted with result. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

I used anitajanedesigns last year to help me create a very small courtyard back garden into a much desirable and welcoming space. Anita the owner of the company was very helpful and listened carefully to what I wanted the space to be like, and designed the perfect space for us. Her knowledge about the plants and attention to details with the whole design was second to none. Anita was very good in completing the design on time and very professional, but very informal and friendly at the same time. I really liked that about her. She has even offered to come back and give me some advice on training the climbers in my new garden. I am a very inexperienced gardener by the way! Looking forward to her visit again before the growning season starts in earnest! I will recommend her to anyone without a doubt.

We contacted Anita after seeing her advertisement in “Inside Upton” handbook. Anita visited us and listened to what we wished to achieve in our garden and put together a fabulous garden design within our stated budget. Anita showed a great attention to detail, which included researching the best prices for the plants being used and a full schedule for ongoing maintenance. For the ground works, we employed a contractor that Anita had worked with before and were also delighted with their work; however, Anita was very clear that we could employ our own contractors. We found Anita to be very approachable and easy to work alongside; she is very talented and accomplished and we can’t recommend her services strongly enough.

We contacted Anita to help us with the redesign of our garden, which was a mix of really mature planting and some really dilapidated areas that we couldn’t use following some building work. We were looking for a designer who would be able to help us reimagine the space and create a family-friendly but stylish garden, without wasting the good bits already in place. We felt quite daunted due to the size of the garden and didn’t know where to begin. Enter Anita. She really “got” the great existing elements of the garden and was fantastic at working with those while helping us create new zones of the garden. Throughout the design she was easy to contact, receptive to feedback and did what she promised, when she said she would. We loved the design and planting plan she came up with - it was mindful of our budget and considered everything we’d given in the brief. Anita also comes with a great network; we used a contractor for the job who she recommended. They did superb job, so the whole process was a pleasure. Our garden is only a couple of months in, but despite being winter it is a far more enjoyable space to use and look at! Without her, we would probably still be staring at a pile of rubble and bricks and wondering where to begin! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her for any garden design job, no matter what size.
