Garden Designers and Nursery, specialising in hardy, evergreen, exotic, plants & trees including Niwaki. Led by Garden Design Manager, Debbie Boxall, our design team have over 40 years experience in garden design, planting and creative maintenance among them. We have an organic, client-led approach to garden design. Our designers are very hands-on and will be on site from conception through to completion talking to our clients all the way. Our team has a wealth of experience in designing, building and maintaining every kind of garden from small courtyards and roof terraces to large country gardens - there's no project too big or too small! Looking for one plant or whole new garden? We can help. Talk to our experienced team for all the advice you need, the right plant for the right place, how to plant & aftercare. We will take you through the process from initial consultancy to site visit, concept & final plan. Our landscaping & creative maintenance team will bring it all together. A skilled workforce for planting & on-going care, ensuring your garden stays stunning. Additionally at the nursery we now have courses hosted by renowned artists, designers and horticultural experts. They range from painting a Bloomsbury-inspired lampshade to mastering the control of pests and diseases in your garden. We offer: Full Garden Design, Planting & creative maintenance service. A nursery open to public & trade customers Mon-Sat 9am-5pm (closed Sun) We also have a range of craft and horticultural courses for you to enjoy. A visit to Architectural Plants nursery is a real treat. They have a fantastic stock of high quality plants, particularly in the interesting specimen plant range. Advice and support is great and knowledgable, which is really helpful; making sure 'right plant, right place' really happens.

Sarah Wilson Garden Design

Architectural Plants supplied me with plants and advice for my Hampton Court garden in 2015. They provided an excellent service and I was awarded a gold medal, which was in part awarded for the quality of my plants. I would highly recommend a trip to the nursery so you can appreciate the quality of the plant material and admire the range of unusual plants on offer.

Mark Payne Landscape Design

We have used Architectural Plants for some time as suppliers plants and occasionally garden accessories, our clients have always been really pleased with the results. Sometimes it is the only place to go for hard to source plants and trees and the specimens are always of a high standard and well cared for. We have recently exhibited a Show Garden at which people were blown away by the Echium's used that we bought from Architectural Plants. We also used Alliums at the same show which we had bought in the green from AP, again great quality and looked stunning on the day. We will continue to use them and appreciate this working relationship.

From beginning to end the whole experience of buying from Architectural Plants was a pleasure - within minutes of my initial enquiry I had photos of the plant I eventually bought emailed to me, phone calls were always returned promptly and generally nothing was too much trouble. Sarah Hughes, who dealt with my purchase, was incredibly helpful and knowledgable and went out of her way to ensure that the transition from towering pot plant to garden specimen was a smooth one. Whether you buy anything or not a visit to their centre near Pulborough is well worth the journey to see such a collection of wonderfully varied exotic and healthy looking plants.

The Architectural Plants nursery is a delight. The plants themselves are beautiful, structural, unusual, inspiring and healthy. I started with a visit and now have half my garden totally transformed, ready to start another very enjoyable collaberation on the next phase. An idea was realised thanks to the designer Debbie whose knowledgable suggestions and good eye were exactly right. The planting team who could not have been nicer, arrived in a storm, never failed to smile all day and left the place tidier than before.. The garden looks beautiful, the whole project has been a pleasure from start to finish.

This company do sell direct to the public - as we are not yet in the market (or budget!) for a whole redesign we have bought several plants to pot and a palm tree. However much you spend you get the same amazing customer service, I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

I contacted Architectural Plants to provide a garden design and plants for me. Debbie from AP came to my house then provided some great advice, a design and a proposed list of plants - which included re-using several of my existing plants. A month or so later Debbie and her team spent 2 days clearing the site and putting in the plants which look amazing. They did a fantastic job - not only did the new stuff look great but they moved several existing plants as well as tidying up other parts of my garden and pruning several existing plants. The quality of finish, including hidden irrigation and mulch, was exceptional. I would recommend them to anyone - particularly as the garden design is effectively free (as the limited cost is discounted from the plants).

In over 15 years of trading I have never seen a supplier take so much care of their specimens or be more enthusiastic about what they do. They're prices are competitive and I would strongly suggest whether contractor or end client that you pay them a visit. Great quality and will be returning G miller The OLC

Tamworth House Developments Ltd

We have recently redeveloped a rare whole Grade 1 Regency property in one of Brighton's most prestigious crescents, that most unusually has a sizeable 65' x 23' walled Italianate style garden. Architectural Plants came and did a site survey taking into account soil quality and depth, sun and shade, wind and likely salt in the air (we're right by the sea), and our wish list. We then were afforded several hours back at theirs whilst we made our choices with their guidance, that included some large specimens including sub tropicals They explained that ultimately, we would only really know what would look best where when they positioned them in their pots on delivery, but that anything not used would be fully refunded. They also brought a whole load of additional smaller plants with them on the day, again to see what looked best where, and buy as required. All stages of the process were carried out with professionalism, efficiency and friendliness. They have since been back unbidden as a courtesy visit to check how they'd settled (very well), and did some minor pruning. We couldn't have asked for a better job, and the garden draws a "wow!" from all who see it, (as indeed does the house itself!)

We wanted to transform a standard back and front garden into a peaceful, exciting and low maintenance garden. We met with Paul at Architectural Plants who listened to all of our requirements and wishes and came up with the perfect ideas. We got to select all the plants (a fun process by itself), received plenty of practical advise on each plant and then the plants were set out in situ in our garden where we could do a final move around and selection. The whole process was extremely friendly, professional and the whole team at AP was a joy to deal with. We did a lot of research before choosing AP and their plants, and we are extremely happy with our choice. The after care is also wonderful and any question at any time is answered very quickly. Architectural Plants provide a fantastic service. They are so knowledgable and professional whilst remaining friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, from choosing, designing, planting, watering system, and even pruning!! Their plants are superb quality, every time, from small shrubs to our wonderful cork oak trees! I couldn't recommend them any more!!
