I am a Society of Garden Designers fully registered member, and having excellent build contractors who I can work with and rely upon to get my designs constructed to a high standard is vital for me and my clients. Fortunately the team at Beaufort & Rampton Landscapes are just such a company. From the outset Tom diligently researches the construction requirements and details to ensure that there are no surprises during a build, and once on site that the work can progress efficiently and as planned. The whole team involved with a build are highly skilled, enthusiastic and committed to delivering a very high standard of completed garden. Throughout the builds, communication with myself and the clients is excellent, ensuring that everything is completed as planned, or any required adjustments are fully thought through and delivered to everyone's satisfaction. My husband and I were looking for something a little bit different from our garden landscaping… a woodland inspired, natural vibe to harmonise with the surroundings of the plot. In the beginning, I was concerned that any landscaping/garden design company we spoke to would struggle to understand what we were trying to achieve, but after only an initial meeting with Beaufort and Rampton I realised they got it, simple as that. Catherine took the time to really understand our brief, and to make sure that we were happy with how she and her team had interpreted our early discussions and what we were looking for. Communication has been amazing throughout the design process, and the 3D models created by Laurence have been invaluable to both us and other professionals involved in the project. To be able to see our landscaping designs come to life before we make any irreversible decisions has been an unexpected but really brilliant experience. I can honestly say that everyone at Beaufort & Rampton whom we have interacted with has been incredibly friendly, but have also known when to push back/challenge us a little if we have been either overly ambitious - or perhaps a little too cautious - as clients at different points in the garden design process. My husband and I feel very fortunate that we have been able to work with Beaufort and Rampton on our landscaping design project, and we can’t wait to get on site soon and see the beautiful planting schemes and additional design elements come together to create what I already know will be a tranquil and inspiring space to be, thanks to Catherine and Laurence. I can unreservedly recommend Beaufort and Rampton. Tom and Catherine were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Catherine came to see me and my small East Putney garden and then came up with a beautiful design which we worked on over a few weeks. She was very patient and accommodating, and happily modified the design according to my tastes. Both Tom and Catherine sourced and helped me choose materials for the decking, paving and pergola (they were endlessly patient as I am very fussy!). Tom and his wonderful and experienced team were hard working, reliable and professional during the build and consulted me at every stage during the construction. In fact they were such a pleasure to have around that I was rather sad when it was finished and they left! As the hard landscaping was nearing completion, Catherine came and discussed the planting in detail and again was endlessly patient in choosing plants and adapting the plant choices according to my taste. She planted everything in the autumn and the garden is now full of beautiful thriving plants and an absolute joy. I could not be more pleased or recommend Beaufort and Rampton more highly.

From conception to completion, Catherine listened, advised, inspired and delivered. I came with a raft of ideas with infinite possibilities for what I imagined my small London back garden could be. Catherine helped me to develop a much simpler, clearer 'vision' and then added her specialist plant and design expertise and professional approach to bring it to life. Catherine has helped me design two gardens 3 years apart. I asked her help with the second one as I am very happy with the first project. She listened well to my requirements, came up with great suggestions, worked in constraints of the budget. Catherine is a pleasure to work with. Always smiling and equable with a calm presence. She is a brilliant listener and makes every effort to translate often vague suggestions into her scheme. She works with you to achieve the right look, thoughtfully incorporating existing trees and shrubs and carefully considering surrounding features, boundaries, light and perspectives. She explains her ideas clearly and is happy to adapt to last minute changes. Not only does she plan well but she also works terrifically hard planting with her team. Catherine recently redesigned my front garden and totally transformed it! Catherine is a real professional and is very easy to work with - she presented initial designs, got all the necessary planning consents (a fairly arduous task in itself!), managed the process with the landscape gardeners, and planted the garden. With the arrival of spring, I am beginning to fully appreciate the colours and the structures of the plant she's put in. It looks stunning and I'm delighted with the results. I contacted Catherine once I'd finished building a courtyard garden. I had absolutely no idea how to design planting that would enhance the area, and she was brilliant. She listened carefully to my (very vague) wishes, and came up with great options for me to choose from. She knew exactly how to tie in the planting throughout the area and create a calm, yet vibrant space, which was just what I wanted. She also organised ordering the plants, planting them and setting up an irrigation system. I'd recommend her highly.

Catherine helped me to completely re design our small London garden in 2009. She came up with the idea of turning it into a gravel garden, taking inspiration from Beth Chatto and choosing plants that didn't require an enormous amount of expertise on my part, in terms of maintenance. We worked closely together, and have created a really lovely, totally manageable space that has been a huge success. Her real skill is listening to our needs and coming up with ideas that work. She is very knowledgeable about plants and has a great eye, working with constraints of the space and using plants that fit with the soil, light and drainage. I am often asked about who designed our garden and highly recommend Catherine.

Catherine did a great job from beginning to end. I needed to completely change the back and front gardens. She had great ideas on what would work and what would not, how to deliver the look I wanted and how to keep it within budget. I couldn't be more happy with the results. Both gardens look great - the neighbours have all commented on the front garden. She worked well with the builder who did the landscaping. She's also been happy to replace a plant that died and fix an irrigation pipe someone else broke. I cant believe how many plants I have. Given the money available for plants, I expected a small number of small plants, but the garden is full of lovely plants and it looks well established after only 3 months. Every few weeks some new plants come into flower so I think there is a good mix of plants to have flowers most of the year. I would happily recommend Catherine Rampton.
