Bramley Apple Garden Design

We were extremely pleased with Sarah’s professional approach to the redesign of our rear and front gardens from start to finish. She listened to our thoughts on what we wanted and incorporated them into her own ideas for the garden design. Whilst we were a little hesitant of some of the ideas like the wild meadow area and open fencing, these have proved to be excellent suggestions with which we are very happy. We used Sarah’s recommended garden landscapers to carry out the work. The quality of their work and the professional way they carried it out was excellent. We are very happy with the overall finish of the garden and have been able to enjoy it throughout lockdown.

Sarah has been an absolute delight to work with from day one of our project. We had building work done on our house the previous year and had had a fair few problems with the architects/builders from the start which resulted in a loss of trust, so we were not sure what to expect when finding a garden designer. However, Sarah was prompt, professional and friendly from our first communication and meeting in summer 2020. She listened carefully to what we wanted from our garden and had lots of suggestions as to what may work for us given our limited space. Much of our communication was over email and zoom sessions due to covid restrictions, but Sarah was able to effectively talk us through her design proposals and planting ideas. Sarah was honest about what would and wouldn't work for our small garden, and was upfront with the cost of some of the more expensive structural items. Most importantly though was how open, honest and friendly Sarah was, which allowed us to trust her judgement and made it an enjoyable working relationship. Work on the garden started promptly in February 2021 with Ryan Strong from Water Features and was finished on time in mid-March.

We have now had two gardens designed by Sarah and each time we have been delighted with the experience from start to finish. As complete garden novices Sarah listened to our very high level ideas and brought them to life with her designs. We are super happy with the end result and would recommend Sarah to anyone considering a garden design project.

Sarah and her team did a splendid job of transforming the front and driveway of our new build home to a very attractive and low maintenance garden - exactly what we requested. Sarah was aware that we had very little gardening knowledge and thoroughly explained how we needed the right plants and shrubs for our soil type, drainage and sun position. Her landscape team were very professional and considerate. We cannot recommend Bramley Apple Garden Design enough.

Sarah was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. both my husband and I are novice gardeners! However my husband is in the construction trade so did have a far better understanding of the hard landscaping than myself. Sarah produced 3-d drawings which I was very grateful for as I could picture the final look. She visited us at home 3 times and at least twice when we were out for pictures, earth samples etc.... We have agreed to go forward in stages as the garden is just one aspect of our current project. We received a planting plan which means that we won't be wasting money on planting the incorrect plants and has also advised on where we should buy more established plants and when it was not necessary. She provide super construction plans for my husband as we can do that by ourselves. The whole experience was fun and within the next 12-18 months our larger project should be finished and the garden will in places be more established than others. Great to work with listened to our thoughts and worked with those but also provided new ideas. We now have a plan that suits all our family needs as we have age 5-85 to accommodate. Sarah really understood the challenges we were trying to solve with the garden. She prepared clear plans for hard and soft landscaping and lighting schemes which have provided us with 4 separate entertaining spaces and many different sections of planting (new feature areas and some to blend in with the existing landscaping). The excellent detail contained in the plans enabled the contractors to complete the job to a high standard. Sarah remained involved throughout which was really valuable - particularly when setting out the plants. Sarah has a wealth of knowledge on plant types for colour, structure, scent and seasonal interest. Creating a scheme that has added beautiful views and value to our home. We have not included photos here because these are already on Sarah's website.

Sarah was great. We wanted to dramatically change our front garden but did not really know how to achieve this, Sarah came up with a few designs (that were amazing). We would not have our garden now which we still love 3 years on if not for Sarah.

From the first meeting with Sarah I felt confident in her ability to create the garden that was right for me. She listened carefully to my criteria and discussed the plans in detail at every stage of the process giving me opportunities to tweak things if I wanted to. The design plans were incredibly detailed and the finished garden matched them 100%. Sarah also works with a great team of contractors and the whole build process was efficient and done to exacting standards. I couldn’t be more delighted with the finished result and know my garden will bring me hours of joy for my time in this home.

Sarah was a pleasure to work with. The right balance between interpreting the brief and pusing the design further, drawing in her expertise. Our design was edging oncontemporary and the options that Sarah came up with were innovative and fresh. Her enthusiasm and energy was refreshing. She was professional in meeting committments and providing estimates.

Highly knowledgeable about all aspects of planting in the garden. Impressive practical knowledge and skills when it comes to maintenance of a garden, bearing in mind budget implications and restrictions. There is not much Bramley Apple doesn't know about garden design, demonstrating a willingness and skill to research an effective solution to problems such as poor soil, challenging landscapes or difficult areas within the garden. After five years, our garden is maturing into a wonderful space which is used daily and has given us such lasting pleasure. We couldn't have wished for a better design!
