“Nigel came round to offer his 'garden design in a day' service. We have a difficult sloping garden and he was really good at understanding what we wanted and also helping us to think about things we hadn't considered. He also took careful consideration of our budget and came up with a really innovative but practical design and helped us find a suitable contractor. The garden looks great, we use it so much more and the design has attracted many compliments.”

“We used LGD for several projects, not least the design and building of our garden. The design process was painless, with expert advice from their lead designer on hand almost whenever we needed her. The build was complicated due to access through the house and parking issues; however, the work was of the highest expected standards, and the project management allowed us to take a step back and let the team get on with the work. Both the landscape team and designers were engaged and polite throughout.”

“Very impressed by this firm. It's true to say that they took us 'on a journey', converting our small garden which had become a bit of a 'rewilding project' to something beautiful and usable. Scott visited us, and we decided to go for his design service, and he came up with three plans. Once the garden was cleared of four Leylandii and an apple tree, he came up with a fourth which we ultimately went with. Once the work started, we soon saw that James, the foreman on site, was a real perfectionist, and ably assisted by Jim and Mikey, it was a delight to see a mess transformed into something we're looking forward to using. After completion, we had a couple of minor snagging issues, and all resolved speedily and to our complete satisfaction. Apart from anything else, they're all nice people, and we're missing them already. No hesitation in recommending this firm.”

“After 20+ years of living in the same house which had undergone numerous changes over the years, the garden was due a ‘makeover’ it had served us well as a family garden but our needs had changed (along with the ability to manage it) therefore time to look for an ‘expert’… Anthony Arnold of Emerging Landscapes stood out from others with the time he took to listen and understand our needs, wishes and not least, budget constraints. His approach is collaborative, very important as we wished to retain a few existing features which he needed to incorporate in the design. He explained and involved us in the design process along the way, from detailed site survey (we have a terraced garden, so not an easy task) concept drawing to final plan. He is innovative and creative and his desire to create a beautiful space that answers our needs and we can enjoy for many more years with minimum maintenance was very apparent. Our enthusiasm for the garden has been re-ignited.”

“Moved to new house where garden had been totally neglected by previous tenants. Paul did an excellent job of strimming and cutting back the lawn, and expertly cut borders either side. “Kristina created a beautiful garden from the more or less bare field that came with our house. It was a really awkward L-shape with an unsightly view of the nextdoor outbuilding and Kristina managed to create a garden of three compartments which made sense of the space, with a pleached hornbeam hedge to screen the view. Kristina listened to all our requirments and delivered a stunning colourful flower garden with a pergola of our choice as a centrepiece, which gives us joy all the year round. She helped us monitor the progress of the hard landscaping contractors, prepared the beds and planted up the garden to the highest standard all within a short timescale. We have shown our garden for the last two years for the National Gardens Scheme and always receive wonderful comments about it. Kristina continues to oversee our garden and its ongoing development.”

“Ben did a great job of redesigning our very mature and overgrown garden. The result is a far more practical family friendly garden which is easy to maintain and looks fantastic through the year. As one plant fades, another flowers giving constant colour which I would never have been able to achieve without Ben. As I maintain the garden myself, his plant maintenance guide has proved invaluable - I can easily identify the plants in the garden and know what to do and when to keep the garden looking great. The contractors Ben organised for us to complete the work were fantastic too. A job well done!”

“We had a very small space with an odd shape and awkward levels and were at a bit of a loss as to how to deal with it. David was a marvel in how he cleverly teased out our 'wants' and 'needs' and distilled them into a fabulous design which we instantly fell in love with. He also project managed the works and his constant attention to the implementation and strong focus on quality and problem solving was much appreciated. David is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and hard working; and was always open to us making changes as we went along.
