From our office in Topsham, near Exeter, we offer a complete garden design service covering all of Devon and the neighbouring counties of Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset. Whether your garden is large or small, in town or in the country, traditional or contemporary in style, we can help you make the most of the space available. We take a client focused approach: gardens are all about the relationship of people with the natural environment. With over twenty years experience of designing gardens, we are always searching for a "hook", something special and unique about the place, the people and the surroundings that will lead the design process. We look at your outdoor space and see beyond any limitations to deliver a well designed garden that delights and surprises. Clients tell us that we had really listened and understood what they were looking for: "I would never have thought of that, but it's exactly what I wanted, and more!". Our work includes commissions for the Royal Horticultural Society’s gardens at Rosemoor and Wisley and has been featured in the regional and national press. Roger Webster is a Registered Member of the Society of Garden Designers, a former regional organiser for the SGD, and has sat on the Conservation Committee and Council of Management of the Devon Gardens Trust.

I have been working as a garden designer since the early 1990's and having worked as principal designer for 3 highly regarded landscape companies, I set up my own practice in 2003. Although based in Somerset, my work covers the whole of the Southwest, and throughout the UK designing for private individuals, developers, and organisations. My aim is always to create a garden that is right for each client by listening carefully to individual wishes and needs and interpreting these whilst respecting budget, the style of house, and it's surroundings. My experience in landscaping and construction means I always have practicality in mind and it is important to me that each client will feel very happy to recommend me. I have created gardens ranging from traditional to contemporary, and for country estates, barn conversions, town houses, and roof gardens etc. I have also designed for major RHS shows, winning 3 conscutive gold medals at Hampton Court Palace International Flower Show. My work has been featured on television and in several publications, and I am a registered member of the Society of Garden Designers (MSGD), whose key aims include the promotion of excellence in garden design and construction.

I can create for you a beautiful garden from small front/back gardens or courtyards to large rural landscapes, using both traditional and contemporary approaches. I will work with you on your requirements during an initial consultation session in your own home, and when we have agreed your requirements, I will produce the outline design for your garden. The detailed design stages and monitoring of the implementation of the design will follow on from this. Alternatively, if you already have a garden that you love but want help with the planting, I can create planting plans for your borders. I am a local Dorset garden designer, based near Dorchester, Dorset, and have a Diploma in Professional Garden Design from the Garden Design School, Bristol Botanic Garden with distinctions in my plant and hard landscaping portfolios. I have many years experience analysing requirements and managing projects in business.

At Greenwave Design we are inspired by, and work with nature. We design subtle garden spaces that change with the seasons and provide havens for wildlife, as well as our clients. Garden spaces need to work hard to accommodate a variety of activities: dining in the shade, morning coffee in the sun, quiet spaces for reading or large spaces to entertain a crowd. Our designs organise the space to meet all these needs beautifully and sustainably. Planting is designed to create a healthy balance with the soil and to support the local ecosystem. We aim to use recycled and reclaimed materials as much as we can and work to connect our gardens with the surrounding landscape. Our lead designer, Michelle Wake, is an RHS medal winning designer and has a degree in garden design from Greenwich University. She is a full registered member of the Society of Garden Designers. She has over ten years experience designing gardens and also teaches at the Inchbald School of Garden Design. Greenwave Design is based near Frome, Somerset, and works on sites throughout Somerset, Wiltshire, North Dorset and South Gloucestershire. We believe that in changing times gardens play an important role in helping us retain our balance. A garden can work on so many levels - providing food, fragrance, wildlife habitats, colour, sound, shelter and beauty. Our designs work hard to make the most of this precious outdoor space by creating gardens that soothe the spirit, stimulate the senses and connect with nature.
Be it large or small, town or country, classic or contemporary, we are dedicated to designing your perfect garden. Our garden design will be a bespoke response to your landscape, but our unique process gives plenty of room for your input. It is a collaboration in which your wishes are key. We met at the Bristol Botanic Garden where Robert was Head Gardener and Lesley was an active volunteer. Together we have 50 years experience in the industry. Coincidentally we both decided to further our horticultural careers by completing a Diploma in Garden Design at the Pickard School. Our complementary skills in horticulture, design and business inevitably led us to form our own design partnership.
