“Robert Khazzam designed our rooftop garden in early 2014, and the installation was completed in fall of 2014. He did an amazing job and my wife and i have been absolutely thrilled with the result. We came to Robert with only some preliminary ideas of what we wanted out of the garden. He developed a beautiful design that absolutely transformed the rooftop. The design made great use of the existing space, using curved plant beds to separate the space into two different areas, but keeping a flowing, open feel to the entire roof. He was very receptive to our thoughts and suggestions as the design progressed, but added a number of features that we hadn't thought of and integrated all of these features into a unified design with a polished, professional look. Robert had a very deep knowledge of the plants that were included in the garden. He included plants that worked very well for the climate and location, and as a result the plants have absolutely thrived. He intentionally included different layers of plants that bloom at various times from the spring to fall, so we've been fascinated to see the garden constantly change as the seasons evolve. He also had a thorough understanding of the requirements for installing the garden, so that the installation went very smoothly and the finished garden matched the design perfectly. My wife and I had looked at options for finishing our roof for years, and we have often commented that we never thought it would turn out as well as it did. I would highly recommend Robert for designing a garden or outdoor space, and we're very grateful for the work he did for us.”

“David approached my totally raw 6 acre site on which I was building from scratch. He got in from the very beginning, explaining (and rightfully) that the house should meld seamlessly into its setting. We worked closely together as I - as the homeowner - had some specific ideas but, as it turned out, I went with virtually everything David suggested - even though he was working within a fixed budget. He also worked in tune with my contractor to achieve a splendid, peaceful balance of structure to land. The result has brought me year after year of pleasure and joy. Each of his ideas has matured into an increasingly beautiful landscape, which has been featured on 3 local garden tours through the years. Of very special note are a series of "Grass steps" leading down to the water. This innovation made a silk purse out of a sows ear in that - without his creativity - there would have been a useless, very high maintenance "slope" of no interest whatsoever. David has also been very helpful in returning over the years whenever I had a need, or required his good counsel. Too good to be true? You should see my place! If I knew how to include photos, believe me, I would. David has my highest recommendation and was an is a pure pleasure to work with.”

“Barbara consulted with us with regard to landscaping for our property. The former owners spent $$$ on extensive landscaping and irrigation systems. Unfortunately, they did not work with a Landscape Architect, and the nursery salespeople provided a layout and selection which looked great when installed but after 10 years has grown in to a point where we have an overcrowding problem which can only be resolved by extensive removal of plantings and reconfiguration. Barbara provided us with a Plan to accomplish this and the result is very effective. I highly recommend Barbara for her professionalism and creative solutions and strongly advise others to use a licensed Landscape Architect as the 1st step when they are considering any updates or changes to their landscaping.”

“I had an excellent experience with Outdoor Design! Chris and his team are very dedicated, hard-working, and full of ideas on how to make the most of your backyard. I had gotten a free estimate from Chris when my irrigation company recommended him. I called him to talk about grading my yard before sprinklers were installed, but somehow, 2 months later, we had our backyard oasis completely finished, and had gained an outdoor living room, dining room and kitchen for a fraction of what an actual building addition would have been. Plus, mature trees for added privacy and landscaping Martha Stewart would be envious of! Chris and Dave took my ideas and budget and made what I had envisioned happen. Chris prices out the estimate a la carte; which means that you don't have to do everything right then; I could start the project and add the fireplace later, or the stonewall seating next year... I was able to shave some of the cost by reusing my hydrangeas and buying some of my own shrubs. Mario and the masonry team are some of the hardest working men I've ever met. They would set up tents in the rain just to keep working! The end result is stunning; Two friends have already hired Chris in the last 6 months to build their own dream backyards. What sets Outdoor Design apart from the competition is that they stand by their work. Chris is a lifelong resident of Fairfield (as am I) and knows that reputation is everything. As he says, he wants his customers to be "ecstatic"! He was an absolute pleasure to work with, as was his entire team. I highly recommend Outdoor Design, give them a call, and I'd be happy to personally talk to anyone who is on the fence. This company is one of the "good ones"!”
