“Butler Landscapes completed a landscape project (building a terraced area, pathways and driveways, two raised beds as well as a small amount of planting) in our suburban garden in the summer of 2016. We had plans for a garden design drawn up before meeting Sharon and Paul - but these needed modifying in order to keep the project within the budget. Paul was very helpful in suggesting the elements of re-design that would keep the price down to what we could afford, and having giving us a price he stuck to it for the entirety of the work - no hidden extras, no last minute requests for extra money. Compared to past experiences it was an absolute joy! I felt that both Sharon and Paul listened to what we wanted, and didn't try and persuade us to have a design or style that we were not comfortable with, but did suggest modifications that would improve on the the practicalities or look of the design - and we were very happy with these suggestions. The work itself was completed to a very high standard, the men working on the project worked hard and felt trustworthy, which was important to me as I was out at work for much of the time. The work did take longer to complete than initially anticipated, but this was largely due to the weather - which was not under Butler Landscapes' control. Paul ensured that all the loose ends were tied up before he asked for the final payment, coming back to the site a couple of times to ensure that all the last bits and pieces of work were finished. We are delighted with the end result and looking forward to enjoying it properly after the winter.”

“Tina was fabulous from start to finish. We had a long thin London Garden with no shape - but a beautiful Beech Tree in the middle - and she turned it into a journey of discovery. By creating different Seating Areas, Curved Walls, curved Flower beds and advice on Planting, our garden has become a pleasure to sit in all year and all day long. I have some planting knowledge myself but lack the ability to visualise the whole garden. We had great fun going through different options, planning areas and keeping existing plants in some areas and moving others. Tina listened to my thoughts and ideas, worked what was practical into the project and when the work finally started I felt very confident that the finished Garden would be perfect. We also had to fit in a Table Tennis Table. The finished Project was better than expected, I took my time researching Brick colours and Patio slabs and chatting to Tina about how they would enhance the plants around them. And it really worked. “Rachel of Elemental Designs provided the landscape designs for our garden. We selected Rachel as our landscape designer following a quality assessment of a number of practices. Working closely with us she developed the brief and design to meet our requirements by adopting a structured iterative process using examples and sketches to show us how she proposed to meet our brief and produce a design that exceeded our expectations. The scope of work included, a formal lawn, flower beds, drainage, lighting, fenced vegetable patch and orchard. She produced the tender documents, obtained quotes, and managed the contractor on site. She directly procured and installed the planting. The service was excellent value for money. The garden is now reaching maturity and it continues to delight us as we see new shapes as the plants develop.”

“We commissioned Paul to design two areas of garden close to our farmhouse - a small 'Mediterranean' garden in a sheltered walled area near the kitchen and a low maintenance garden to be viewed from the kitchen, living room and master bedroom, inspired in part by our time living in Japan. Paul gained the commission through being one of the two best of five after initial meetings and of the final two produced by far the best design output that made it easy to understand what we were going to get. Paul project managed the build, working with professional dry-stone waller, Andy Louden, and Landscaper, Chris Bromley to create a garden that has the wow factor and a smaller more intimate space that is great for a summer afternoon with a cup of tea or indeed something stronger. “Our front entrance steps were in very poor condition, and water was leaking into the basement room below. Fork Garden Design stripped and rebuilt our front entrance stair and forecourt. The work included rebuilding the stair walls as the existing structure was crumbling away; re-rendering the external walls with a layer of fibre-mesh underlay to reinforce the structure; and paving the steps and forecourt with high quality sandstone slabs. During the construction, Fork Design also coordinated with the waterproofing specialist to sequence the work. Philip and his team were very professional, diligent and thoughtful. Their work reflected a very high level of design, workmanship and quality. Philip has both very good design skill and is meticulous with implementation details. We could not be happier with the result, which has transformed the space.
