We asked Carole to turn the front yard of our ground floor flat in a Victorian terrace just off the Old Kent Road from a dumping ground you'd avert your gaze from into a functional space with lovely planting and she's done just that. Carole, quite naturally, designs with aspect and soil type in mind but also takes the time to get to know her clients to better understand their hopes and dreams as well as their abilities when it comes to gardening. The yard was cleared and planted up just before the Winter set-in so we now await Spring with eager anticipation ready to admire the planting design as it matures.

We are thrilled with our new garden. It’s incredible to think it has only been planted for three months it looks well established and as it if has been here for years. Working with Carole has been a pleasure throughout. Our garden is small, on two levels, and is north-facing, so it’s not the easiest plot. But Carole has made the most of every square inch. This is partly down to her re-positioning of the steps and the clever inclusion of a built-in bench. Carole has also ensured year-round interest in the plants and we’re really looking forward to the rest of the year and seeing the garden develop. We highly recommend Design Heights and Carole if you want a beautiful and functional garden.

Carole has designed our dream courtyard garden. She helped us choose appropriate plants for our super sunny and super shady sites and came up with a really eye catching design for beds, borders and planters based on our love of Hebridean island plants. She relocated some of our old plants which have now flowered for the first time (right plant, right place!) and added height, depth and breadth as well as funky colours. We love being able to refer to our planting plan when wondering what this or that plant is. We loved her work so much we've asked her to do our next job, an acre of windy coastal garden.
