Jen Berry Garden Design

I contacted Jen to help change my garden from a boring "new build" type bland garden to "a typically English garden" - that was my plan! WOW! Jen was fantastic, she took on board what I wanted and enhanced it a thousand fold - mainly because I know very little about plants and have no idea about garden design. She asked me to show her what I meant by "a typically English garden" via pictures on the internet, she then took that to create a design and a planting plan. This was all done in Autumn 2018 and I was sceptical about how my garden would look come the Spring and the Summer. I shouldn't have been! Jen has provided me with interest from early Spring through to early Summer with both colour from flowers and from different types of leaves and stems, not to mention the variety of height of my garden. I love it all and think Jen has done magic!

We have recently been working with Jen to overhaul our back garden following a rear extension which left us with an awkwardly shaped space of varying levels. Right from the start Jen understood the ‘look’ we were trying to achieve and came up with a design which would work for our family. We’ve since gone through various revisions together and nothing has ever been too much trouble. She’s been great at suggesting materials, devised planting plans and provided samples whilst being ever patient as I’ve chopped and changed my mind over different points. We now have a final design which we love, and which we will have built over winter before we bring Jen’s naturalistic planting plan to life.. And by next summer we will have a garden again!!

It is an absolute pleasure working with Jen. She is very enthusiastic, has boundless energy and is totally committed; she is full of ideas whilst listening to the client's interests and wishes and is like a little whirlwind when she's doing the actual physical work. The wow factor! Jen transformed two of our luxury cat hotel gardens. We wanted something that looked attractive, encouraged wildlife and was easy to maintain. Her choice of planting, colour combinations and enhancing the existing planting scheme with new and fresh plants has resulted in a fantastic environment. The front of the properties, all the way through to the rear seating areas and borders were elevated resulting in a garden design that has the wow factor from entrance to exit. Many of our customers comment on the beautiful spaces created. Jen is friendly, knowledgable and worked hard to very tight timelines in order to fulfil our brief. I would highly recommend Jen and we will be using her again for our next project.

Jen did a brilliant job designing and redeveloping our small city garden in South London. What started off as a concrete jungle has become an beautiful extension of our home which we now use nearly every day. The design is clever, practical and modern and answered the brief perfectly. Jen made the whole process of re-designing our little London courtyard, straightforward and enjoyable. Having finished the redevelopment of our house, I was feeling overwhelmed at the prospect of tackling phase 2 - the mud patch of a garden! Jen was wonderful. Jen has an amazing facility to rapidly transform our garden from rambling to tidy in a short space of time! She is delightful to work with, proactive and professional.

Jen designed and replanted our garden in 2017 and since then has made regular maintenance visits. Our new beds are stunning and have been regularly admired by friends and visitors. In spring this year a number of bulbs came through including daffodils and tulips and since then we have been treated to a number of changes and every few weeks a new flower will bloom adding new colour. We are absolutely delighted with the garden and the work Jen has done.

Everyone who visits our house is impressed by our garden. It has the wow factor and you can tell it has been designed by a professional. From the initial discussions about our tastes and colour preferences, through the planning and design stages, to the supply and planting and now occasional maintenance, we have been extremely pleased with the service provided. Jen's knowledge of plants and her flair with colour and texture are impressive. She worked tirelessly through some of the hottest days of the year and with less than ideal soil conditions, to turn a series of empty beds into a riot of colour. The garden has matured and developed over the past year and every week seems to bring a new point of interest. Her clever choice of plants has left us with a highly professional finish which requires limited maintenance. Jen's month by month gardening guide along with the detailed planting plan, allows us to care for our plants correctly despite our limited knowledge of such things. We can not recommend Jen more highly and have already passed her details on to some of our friends.
