I've been enjoying garden design and landscaping for 18 years. It's a pleasurable process of helping clients find what exactly they would most like from their garden space. I help them to evolve their current gardens or start from scratch and design and construct spaces that appeal to their taste. I do this by creating a variety of elements within a project including new flower borders, lawn shapes, patios, arches, fences, trellis work, water features and rockeries, and of course, planting. This can be done in a modern or traditional way. I like to celebrate a variety of shapes and sizes to create interest, depending on the design. Many clients like evergreen, 'low maintenance' plant combinations. Other clients are keen gardeners and enjoy more flowers and foliage and enjoy the aftercare maintenance. I'm available to do design work and costing is flexible based on the complexities of the request. I aim to have three meetings with clients and take them through a process of finding out what most excites them and hope to inspire their use of space. Eventually I present a final scaled drawing to allow construction to begin. I can then source quotations from local professional landscapers on behalf of my clients. Once the project is underway, I aim to make three visits to the site of the build to help guide the building of the garden, liaising with the landscaper. I generally source the plants and position them ready for them to be be planted. Canadian born, I've lived in the UK for 25 years. I'm based in Hastings, East Sussex. I'm a keen watercolour artist and classical guitarist.

Joe was very professional, approachable and creative from the first meeting. He designed the garden on paper with a little input from us and the scale drawings looked so great that we decided to go ahead with the full job of landscaping and gardening. Care was taken to find the right plants, shrubs and flowers for the right parts of the garden taking into account where the sun would hit the garden at what time and various darker areas of the garden. We are immensely pleased with the garden and can't wait for the spring of 2019 to see the garden mature. The images speak for themselves.

Joe has taken an overgrown and rundown garden and transformed it. Work has included laying a new patio and planning and planting new flowers beds. I am delighted with the result.

Joe (and Martin) changed what was a neglected, mature garden, when I bought the property, into a stunning "Seaside" theme Garden, complete with boardwalk from Conservatory to the far end of the garden, railway sleeper seating areas, and a wonderful collection of grasses, shrubs, plants and trees, to give interest all year round. The base consists of undulating shingle of different sizes. A shed was erected and painted in "Sea Grass" wood paint. I have had so many compliments on the finished garden, and it is designed to be peaceful and somewhere to sit and dream in! Joe himself is very professional, and a joy to work with. He transferred the ideas I had in my head on to paper, and produced an interesting plan to work from which included a variety of plants. Joe on a personal level is very knowledgeable, honest, helpful, a very tidy and hard worker, amusing, a good listener, and just a very friendly man. The property is my holiday home, but everyone, including me, that goes there enjoys that garden. Thank you Joe (and remembering Martin, who put in so many hours to help create this garden, and sadly died far too young). This company is highly recommended. Deadline and budget were adhered to.

Joe is a very artistic garden designer. He is able to listen very carefully to what the garden itself is saying to him as well as getting to know his clients. Our garden had not been tended for many, many years but he was able to see its potential through his experience. He is an extremely sympathetic person to work with and we are delighted with his work. We would recommend him without hesitation.
