Moved to Cornworthy, Totnes, South Devon. I've been enjoying creating or evolving gardens for 20 years. It's a pleasurable process of helping clients find what exactly they would most like from their garden space. I help them to evolve their current gardens or start from scratch and design and construct spaces that appeal to their taste. I do this by creating a variety of elements within a project including new flower borders, lawn shapes, patios, arches, fences, trellis work, water features and rockeries, and of course, planting. This can be done in a modern or traditional way. I like to celebrate a variety of shapes and sizes to create interest, depending on the design. Many clients like evergreen, 'low maintenance' plant combinations. Other clients are keen gardeners and enjoy more flowers and foliage and enjoy the aftercare maintenance. I'm available to do garden design work (paper plans) and costing is flexible based on the complexities of the request. I meet with clients and take them through a process of finding out what most excites them and hope to inspire their use of space, plants, objects etc. Eventually I present a final scaled drawing to allow construction to begin. I can then source quotations from local professional landscapers on behalf of my clients. Once the project is underway, I can also offer the service of monitoring the build. Also, I can offer my services to source plants and do planting. In some instances, I also do the construction of small projects with a small team. Canadian born, I've lived in the UK for 30 years.
