Liz Keyworth Gardens

Liz designed and planted, from scratch, our front and back gardens approx 8 years ago. We particularly loved her artistic flair, and were absolutely thrilled with the results then and continue to enjoy them now. Over the years the garden has matured beautifully and Liz and her team have continued to maintain it for us, as well as adding and rearranging plants each year. I have recommended Liz to numerous friends and neighbours since 2010 and think I can quite safely say that they are as happy with her work as we are. Liz has never been anything other than professional, accommodating, and friendly since day one, and it has been an absolute pleasure to be one of her clients.

After major building work on our house, our large and open, square back garden was decimated. Liz was brilliant in redesigning the garden to make it feel more enclosed, and came up with some wonderful and creative ideas for pathways and different seating areas. She spent a lot of time with us discussing planting schemes (Liz had a huge knowledge of plants which was super helpful as we have little actual plant knowledge but just know what we like the look of) in terms of colou, style and 'feel', and produced beautiful and abundant borders that perfectly answered our brief of wanting some 'structure' without being too formal. She was always attentive to our budget restraints too, and has popped back from time to time to check on growth, and to give us (much-needed) advice about pruning and after-care We are so pleased with the final job that we are asking Liz to do our front garden later this year.

Liz and I have collaborated on projects where clients are looking for that uninterrupted, inside/ outside spatial flow, by devising paved terraces, plantings, vistas and settings that compliment a property and fit the lifestyle of their owners. I would choose Liz for garden design whether the project was for a modest urban courtyard scheme or a generous country garden. She has great attention to detail; advising clients about the pros and cons of different species; explaining the kind of maintenance they will require; choosing trees and shrubs individually from her preferred suppliers and directly supervising how they are planted. Her gardens are places to savour their special sense of balance, taking delight in well-tended nature that is devised to recharge the spirit.

Liz designed a garden for us which had been ruined by a recent house build. We wanted to keep a mature and natural look with a variety of evergreen plants and flowers. She listened to what we needed and very quickly produced a plan that worked. She took care of the building of any patios and ponds and she planted the garden beautifully. We are very happy.

Liz has designed two gardens for me and I trust her implicitly to understand the brief. I wanted my first garden to look as if it hadn't been designed and she knew exactly what I meant. her own garden is absolutely beautiful and she introduced me to lots of new plants that I wouldn't have known about without ever trying to impose her own ideas. She is also an artist and I think this really shows in her choice of colour and foliage textures. I have recommended her to others and seen that she can design a modern city garden just as well as cottage style country one I wouldn't go to anyone else for advice on my garden and highly recommend her.

Liz Keyworth is an amazing and inspired Garden designer. She manages the project from start to finish, listening to your ideas and giving great advice about options, what works etc. When we moved into our house we had a large "garden" which was a stretch of grass with a couple of fruit trees and an old shed. Liz created a design that gave visual depth to the garden, introduced different levels, created a planting design that literally brings something new to enjoy every few months. She worked with great professionals to build the garden, also incorporating important draining arrangements to protect the house as we are at the base of a hill . The garden is fabulous, IT gives us endless pleasure and I am reassured that Liz and her team check up on it regularly and advise me when something needs done. I recommend Liz wholeheartedly.
