Miria Harris

We inherited our garden, it was ok but not very usable. Each summer would pass and we could count the number of times on one hand we had enjoyed it. In our first meeting with Miria, we talked through what we wanted to achieve with the space, how we wanted to use it and what we liked and disliked in terms of design and planting. In honesty we didn’t really know the answers to everything but she asked all the right questions to get us thinking. We were really surprised when she came back with a beautiful presentation which was spot on, everything that we wanted but couldn’t imagine ourselves. It included things we knew we loved and suggestions that we really liked. We now have another room to our house, our garden, which is usable, beautiful and a pleasure to spend time in and the whole process with Miria was easy and very enjoyable.

Very talented designer, with great attention to detail – Miria made us a garden, not only that looks very beautiful, but is also manageable for a family who is busy, where the garden has to look after itself (a little!). Her contractors where great too and respected our home. I couldn’t recommend Miria Harris enough.

Miria was wonderful to work with. We wanted to incorporate some Japanese influences and she was brilliant at helping us to create a beautiful courtyard garden surrounded by plants; a London garden with a suggestion of Japan. I am no gardener, so she carefully thought through a scheme that needs almost no maintenance from us. The flowers and varying foliage provide colour and interest all year round; one of my favourite times is February when the cherry tree starts to blossom which looks amazing against the dark-grey Belgian bricks. Subsequently she has been great at helping us find local gardening-help to keep everything looking amazing. She's incredibly talented and a lovely person, so working with her was a pleasure from start to finish.

Miria designed a rear garden for a project in Islington, London, that I was the successful tenderer on. Her design was modern yet used a variety of materials to reflect the style of the house and incorporate aspects that enhanced the surroundings with ease. Miria oversaw the complete build process, met with clients on a regular basis and was completely open about her ideas and views on the quality of work. The planting complimented the hard landscape and after visiting the site 9 months after the build was finished, it was remarked on how the landscape blended in and look so natural. Overall, it was a pleasure to deal with Miria Harris.
