Our experience with Rachel and her team was positive from start to finish. Her experience and knowledge gave us confidence to believe her design would look great in our small back garden. We look forward to enjoying the new space when the better weather arrives.

I have just completed my second garden using Rachel’s design, project management and planting knowledge. Having previously worked together I knew when I moved house and faced an awkward and unimaginative plot that I needed Rachels skills again! From the initial visit and exploration of what would work on the new site, to the BRILLIANT design which wows everyone who visits Rachel helped plan and execute my garden. I had struggled to find reliable local contractors, but Rachels little black book connected me with a superb, qualified landscaper to bring the 2D design to 3D reality. Her recommendations for sustainable and diverse materials were spot on – even including a day out ‘rock shopping’ at a specialist supplier to pick the right specimens for the design! Rachel also liaised with some of my preferred suppliers for specific sculptural elements. She selected and sourced appropriate and unusual plants for the garden to replace the sad existing shrubs which she could tell, instantly, were the wrong thing in the wrong place as not only is Rachel a talented designer with a flair for stunning landscapes but she, and the team, are real plants-people too. I am looking forward to working together for regular care and maintenance as the garden matures and evolves.

I had a difficult garden to landscape (North facing, sloping, overhanging trees and poor access) which had put off some previous garden designers, however Rachel willingly accepted the brief and came up with a great design incorporating all of my wish list and working around the difficulties. In the planting phase she was sympathetic to the style that I had wanted and used some of my existing plants amongst her chosen ones, also letting me get involved with the final planting. She provided a very personal and friendly service and although things became very strung out due to COVID restrictions and lock down, the end result was worth the wait!

After my first telephone call with Rachel I relaxed knowing that I had found the right person to help me construct a garden in my new build property. I had several ideas of what I would like in my garden and after an initial meeting with Rachel she produced a wonderful garden design with all the elements I had asked for. We have just finished planting the garden, and I am so pleased with the finished results. The garden has gone from a boring grassed area to an inviting space which I can relax in, share with wildlife, and potter about in. I would recommend Rachel as a friendly, reliable, hardworking, and knowledgeable designer, and I enjoyed working with her to create my garden.

From our first telephone call, to first site visit to the completion of the Study and beyond she has been extremely helpful. From the first design consultation through to the completion of construction and planting of the garden Rachel has been exceptional in her attention to detail, communication and creative excellence. Starting with the initial concept drawings through to landscape design, construction plan and planting plan, Rachel guided me expertly through each step of the process. Rachel's knowledge of plants, growing conditions and environmental conditions meant our desire for an authentic Scottish garden that blended well into the national forest that surrounds the property was achieved. The project started on schedule and even allowing for the inclement weather that the construction team had to endure, the garden was completed within the timeframe and budget we agreed. Choosing the right landscape designer who could comfortably collaborate with me from Australia gave me enormous confidence that the vision for our garden would be realised. The finished product is amazing. A garden haven that is a magical experience that will be enjoyed throughout the year.

Rachel worked with us on a number of home garden projects including a topographical site survey, cataloguing existing plants and trees and a detailed design of our back walled garden. The work completed was excellent with lots of care and attention. We found Rachel to be friendly and knowledgeable. Looking forward to working with Rachel again on our next project.

We employed Rachel to redesign our front garden from a conventional drive and grass style to a flower garden fitting to property style. It’s been a joy seeing it develop not just from a landscape point of view but also seeing the plants grow and flowering throughout the spring and summer.

Working with Rachel from design to execution has been an excellent experience. She created a garden for a small overlooked space behind my cottage that not only made the most of the space and the light but took into account all of my planting, aesthetic and maintenance needs, making a clean, easy-to-use-and-maintain, but gorgeous haven with plants and flowers that will bloom across the year. She is responsive to all individual needs in the planning process and worked closely with me on the design and plant plan and also with the concerns of my neighbours. The builders she chose were excellent and also very respectful of my neighbours in our very small hamlet. Highly recommended!

We discovered Rachel via her web site. She created a fantastic garden design for us. We were very impressed with her ideas and true professionalism, friendly approach and from design to planting and managing sub contractors she delivered this large project to time and budget. My wife chose Rachel Bailey Garden Design for my 50th Birthday having been attracted by the website. From the beginning I was very impressed by Rachel’s professionalism, knowledge and willingness to listen to my ideas. She interpreted what I wanted very quickly and created a wonderful design for my smallish back garden. Rachel worked closely with me from inception to completion of the project. Each stage was well thought through and great attention to detail was paid to all aspects of the job. When considering a planting scheme Rachel and her colleague Nicola used an online resource which made the experience very collaborative and exciting. Rachel sourced a highly competent firm to complete the hard landscaping and managed the build. All the work was done within agreed timescales and budget. As a keen but relatively inexperienced gardener, what was invaluable was how much I learned and benefited from Rachel’s passion and experience. It turned out to be the best present as my garden keeps on giving!

I'm delighted to have the opportunity to review Rachel Bailey Garden Design. My 'garden' was a particular challenging,neglected space having within it a gorge, long narrow pathway with overhanging strata and woodland area. Rachel's master & planting plans both exceeded my expectations in terms of detail, knowledge and practicality. I was particularly impressed with the harmony of colour as represented through her sensistive choice of plants. Rachel was able to visualise the space as it once had been as well adding to its individuality through her wonderful enthusiasm and professionalism. She is extremely organised and her communication is excellent. Access to my garden is tricky and Rachel was able to resolve any such issues creatively and in such a way that the project progressed at a steady pace until its conclusion. I am more than thrilled with my new / old space thanks to Rachel she has breathed life through her planting and design back into the unique garden that has existed here on this site since 1872. It is hard to imagine any other garden professional to have managed this on I may add a very modest budget.. thank you Rachel and wishing you all the success that you truly deserve.
